Here’s an interesting video from Ben W. Thomas on chondrocladia, and the ping pong sponge. It’s a trippy little creature we share the planet with. It’s a sponge, that’s a carnivorous animal, that self reproduces, and eats without a mouth. It also has a cute little arsenal of hunting tools.
This week we are looking at the Ping Pong Tree Sponge and the wider genus Chondrocladia. These sponges are notable for their strange ping pong shaped appendages and carnivorous appetites.
