depressing news yesterday!
It’s not really unbelievable; we’ve been hearing about it for a while. I for one applaud the leaker of the report. This Court has an agenda, and it is attempting to thwart the will of the people, because of religion. Ironic?
“This is the most ominous and alarming sign yet that our nation’s highest court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, ending the constitutional right to abortion as we know it and ripping away our freedom to decide if, when, and how to raise our families. While this is a draft opinion and abortion is still legal, we need to brace for a future where more and more people are punished and criminalized for seeking and providing abortion care. Now more than ever, we must support those working to provide abortion care and elect champions who will relentlessly fight for reproductive freedom and take bold action to safeguard abortion rights.”

Should Roe fall, 28 states are poised to take action to prohibit abortion outright. Of those, 13 states already have “trigger bans” in place, which would ban abortion automatically if Roe is overturned. These bans and attacks on abortion access fall hardest on those most marginalized, including people of color, LGBTQ people, people with low incomes, and those in rural communities.

You’re correct. It isn’t unbelievable. Nothing is unbelievable anymore.
People get livid when they are asked to wear a mask during a pandemic to protect our fellow humans, because we’re infringing upon their rights. But those same people have no problem making a woman carry a pregnancy that she doesn’t want, infringing upon HER rights to do what she wishes with HER body. This is some messed up way of thinking.
Will enough women come together and fight the good fight? Will men join us? Much has yet to be seen.
What we do know is the tipping point has been in the works and is now coming to fruition. We are getting pushed back into the archaic past…chip..Chip…CHIPPING away women’s rights. Despicable.
What’s next? We all know the answer to that question. Unless we band together and stop this now, this will be just the beginning.
