expendables

It’s “daylight savings time” this weekend, the spring forward event. Your electronic clocks will jump an hour ahead. I think it sucks we lose an hour, as if my weekends weren’t already short enough. The changing clock habit twice a year needs to be put to bed imo.

This trailer made me laugh. It’s a new movie out today, Mickey 17, by the multiple academy award winner, director Bong Joon-ho (2017, Parasite). A wayward clone doing something unexpected, lol. IYKYK.

Have a nice weekend Starkin!

Thank you for reading today's post. Have an InterStellar Day! ~PrP

The humans have been using the immortal’s gene to assist cancer patients. So those of you who suggested that they would use the gene to discover a longevity formulae were wrong. They also discovered that he can withstand any dose of radiation because he has something called the damage suppressor protein, or Dsup. This protein, as the name implies, is thought to suppress radiation-induced DNA damage by binding to DNA strands and preventing them from breaking apart as usual.

We can use this discovery to enable us to transport a human with just a suit into deep space. Humans are testing to see if human cells lining the mouth and rectum, since radiation is commonly used to treat cancers in these areas will be protected while using radiation to kill off nearby tumor cells. They discovered it works extraordinary well.

The problem is since the immortal protein is non human it can provoke an unwanted reponse from the human immune system. We will not suffer from this problem. Now we can use this new development to assist with improving deep space suits.

We are checking on how the humans are using their discovery to protect astronauts from space-related radiation or to protect cancer patients from other sources of treatment-induced DNA damage, such as chemotherapy drugs, the researchers say.

  2. M]3 says:

We would like to be in on this discovery. We have been studying the history of the Immortal for more than 2 million years. There is a lot of lore from various worlds which center beliefs about the immortal that are akin to the religious beliefs on Earth.

It has been called god, the evil, and manny other mystic names such as the Djinn. One I particularly like is that it was created to be a being that dwells in the void between the worlds. We researched this and found that it had the ability to travel between the dimensional. We and humans alike live in the three spatial dimensions of width, height and depth. Our physical world and everything that is observed in it are three dimensional.
The Immortal is not limited by those physical phenomena. It can exist, perhaps simultaneously, in any number of dimensions. The secret of his immortality maybe that if he dies in this dimension he continues to to survive in another.

One lore suggest that the GODS created the universe, life to occupy it and entertain them, and the Immortal to challenge their power. It is said that Fire gave birth to the Immortal. They believe that One who discovers the power of the Immortal will himself become immortal. The caveat is if you Fear one thing in the Known Universe —Fear the Immortal! Everything that is in us demands that we examine this creature.

    • U[9 says:

Our physical space is only 3D when you look around the Known Universe. The surface of the planets we are from is the same as Earth, 2D space. We all come from the surface of a giant sphere. Not so the Immortal. While we can walk in only two directions, East and West or North and South, the Immortal can traverse planes our science can only speculate on. It is often in those spaces when we think it has dosed off. We see the presence it exists as in our 3D dimensional world. Yet, it may be galavanting in other dimensions that we can only imagine.

What possible spaces, dimensions, planes, or universes might the Immortal be existing in while we see it doze off? Since time may itself be another dimension, the brief seconds it dozes off in our plane maybe equivalent to hours or years in that place it has left to visit.

Earth mathematicians through a field called geometric topology, like us, study all possible spaces in all dimensions. We are much more advanced in the field than they will ever be, yet from time to time they arrive at a possibility that we hadn’t thought of.

Although human mathematicians have figured out all the possible 2D spaces and many of their properties, they have yet to discover what 3D spaces beings actually live in. This knowledge should be kept from humans for a few centuries more. If they exist that long, the matter can be taken up again.

      • X*/~ says:

Our mathematicians have advanced the field of topology into other studies. One of which enables us to imagine the properties of the 4th dimension. For example to describe the location of something in space – say a MotherShip – you need four numbers: three to describe its position and one to describe the time it is in that position. These four numbers are what make up a 4D space.

The problem with locating in which of those spaces the Immortal lives, is that although there is no reason to consider spaces that have dimensions larger than four for us, since that is the highest imaginable dimension that might describe our universe, it is certainly not true for the Immortal.

Humans think they can understand the existence of the Immortal through their branch of physics called String theory. Their String theory suggests that the Immortal lives in the same Universe as we do, but that it has many more dimensions than four. The Immortal traverses those dimensions as easily as we do our three dimensional world and our four dimensional Space.

We cannot risk harming this creature until we discover more of the science that can explain its existence.

    • C]2 says:

And here we argue about the insanity of the earthling. Yet you propose to harm or restrict the existence of a being that is older than Time itself as we know it.

      Seriously?

If you attempt to “examine this creature,” by means other than observance or the items of it that we acquire from humans in their natural relationship with it, we will look forward to your destruction. It will surely come, either from the LeI or the Immortal itself.

      • G]3 says:

This should come from the LeI. We do not wish to become collateral damage should the Immortal extend its anger to more than those that offended it.

  3. X]3 says:

This space allows any to add to science that most MotherShips forbid in open discussion. Why then, should we limit the exposure to humans? Only those humans who are mathematically inclined to understand where we are taking the new science to will benefit. It will not change the politics of the planet earth, because the non believers rule. Those that don’t and are here for simple perusal or amusement will ignore the parts that are too deep for their understanding.

So let’s openly compare notes on the location of the Immortal. None of us can accurately pinpoint its exact location unless it allows us to. Who on Earth does it exist as? Does it exist as more than one individual on the planet? Has it formed any bonds with humans that would signal its intentions? Does it have friends that it shares its identity with? Why can’t we get a fix on its image?

Those of us who might have some of the answers to those questions should find a way to ignore the restrictions of their MotherShips and share. One’s identity cannot be traced if one is posting here. All MotherShips have signed on to the establishment of free exchange. It is a requirement of entry into The Gate.

Speak freely! Don’t worry about what humans will gather from our discussions, most think they are too mature to believe in aliens much less the existence of an Immortal being living amongst them. This is our time to discover more about this unique, if very dangerous, creature.

    • Lisbeth says:

Not all humans are closed minded. I was a devout Christian until I started reading Michelle’s blog a decade ago. One of the big thinks it taught me besides the existence of aliens was that it is a common human frailty to think that god cares. They don’t. We, all the beings in the Universe are on our own. That’s the downside of free will.

I’m not sure I believe in an immortal living as one of us, but I do believe that the aliens believe it.

T, thanks for the tip about this blog. I saw Michelle today. She was with her parents. Wow, she is still a gorgeous beauty. I still don’t believe that you had a piece of that.

But, I’m single now, so I’m all in. Me, if I get lucky, I’m getting souvenirs. Personal ones to reminisce on and a few for bragging rights. You know those rights you don’t have. Too bad they didn’t have cell phones when you say you were boning her.

    • Faramarz says:

Did you see her picture when she was writing her blog? Michelle is an Italian. She comes from a rich heritage of rape victims of invading North African Muslim conquerors. Unfortunately no matter how much our powerful Muslim seed flooded their degenerate gene pool, we were not able to get those barbaric garlic eaters to stop worshipping their heathen Pope and embrace the one true faith of Islam.

No doubt. She used to show it off when she walked her dog. But I quit looking for her more than a year ago. Besides the wife was getting suspicious. And you are dead on. No way a rich fat bald fuck is going to get a shot. She’s got plenty of rich gym shape dudes checking her out.

The Pentagon continues to expand its presence in the Pacific. It has reached basing arrangements in recent years with the Philippines, Japan, and Australia. The security and usefulness of these installations is bolstered by a parallel effort, as leading weapons developers seek out the means to better protect ground-based platforms. This includes the exploration of reinforced hardened structures and hangars in which to house high-value items such as fighter jets, and the additional integration of advanced missile-defense systems to bases in sensitive areas such as Guam.

The U.S. is now in the process of adding several new bases to the Philippines. But alongside the tactical advantages this yields—the country’s geography offers greater proximity and access to high-threat areas—the presence of forward-positioned assets can also increase a force’s vulnerability.

Unhealthy makeup ingredients, what to look for
You have to be careful about the type of makeup you use. It is a good idea to look at the ingredients in the makeup before you buy it. Certain makeups can harm your health because of the ingredients that they have. There are a number of ingredients that you should try to avoid using.

          Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

Sodium lauryl sulfate is found in many foundations. Sodium lauryl sulfate has been shown to cause canker sores and skin irritation. It has also been shown to increase the risk of cystic acne. SLS can cause pimples to develop around the skin and mouth.

          Dioxane

The Environmental Protection Agency has classified dioxane as a carcinogen, or a cancer-causing agent. It can also damage the kidneys, skin and blood. Dioxane has been banned in many places. However, it is estimated that 46 percent of skincare products in America have dioxane.

          Parabens

The Food and Drug Administration has stated that parabens can cause hormone disruptions. They have been shown to increase the risk of infertility, breast cancer and skin cancer. They are also considered endocrine disruptors.

          PHTHALATES

PHTHALATES are also endocrine disruptors. They can cause infertility. They have also been shown to affect fetal development. The European Union has banned certain PHTHALATES.

          Oxybenzone

Oxybenzone is not only found in certain types of makeup, but it is also found in sunscreen. Oxybenzone has been shown to increase the risk of endometriosis. This is a reproductive disorder that causes the uterine lining to grow on the outside. It has also been shown to lower sperm count in men.

          Artificial Colorants

Many artificial colorants are made out of petroleum. These colorants has been shown to increase the risk of acne, allergic reaction and acne. Many artificial colorants also have heavy metals and coal tar.

          Triclosan

Triclosan is an anti-bacterial ingredient that was once only used in hospitals. However, triclosan can be found in many personal care products today. It can be toxic to the organs and can cause an allergic reaction. It is also an endocrine disrupter. In September 2017, the Food and Drug Administration ruled that manufacturers would have to reformulate products that have triclosan.

          Hydroquinone

Hydroquinone is an ingredient that is found in many skin-lightening products. The Food and Drug Administration has stated that this ingredient can cause a condition called ochronosis. This condition causes black lesions to develop on the skin.

          Petro-Ingredients

Mineral oil and petroleum jelly are used in many lubricants and emollients. However, both of these ingredients have been shown to irritate the skin and cause acne. They can also increase the risk of acne.

Thanks for the reminder. Sodium laurel sulfate is in cheap shampoos too.

I think all humans have detectible levels of phthalates, through inhalation, ingestion and/or dermal applications like makeup. The earth’s oceans and sea beds are full of the toxic plastic waste. I don’t trust HBs to clean it up either. Look how long its been churning-since 1945-eighty years! It’s estimated that there are 6 pounds of plastic for every 1 pound of plankton. I feel for the poor sea creatures stuck consuming it. (Some ABs in the sea are probably eating it too – and liking it). And there are other patches in other oceans. A billionaire or two could sponsor the cleanup as a side project and maybe make some progress on the problem. But the wealth hording sickness becomes stronger with the more money one seems to have. I point to muskRAT, who said recently, “The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy.”

The ruling is you don’t have to return the Earth you captured when it broadsided your hovercraft.

    • R]8 says:

The Earth spacecraft we captured was unmanned. It was designed to explore meteors for precious minerals. It is of little value to us.

      • LEi says:

Your candor is suspect. You are the ones who dropped tons of snow on Greenland to slow their melting Ice. It was ruled narrowly, that you didn’t violate a NIE. As for your claim that the Earth spacecraft mistakenly took your hovercraft for a meteorite, and you were removing the menace, it was not believed but accepted since the capture of an unmanned earth vessel not seeking another planet was irrelevant.

  8. N[9 says:

Some of the Aliens who helped Trump to get elected came from the MotherShip rP*/`. That ship used scintillator crystals(SC) as their source of energy. The LeI destroyed it because they collaborated with some humans to get access to their nuclear waste. Now we have learned that they have shared the “light” energy which powered their ships with some humans. This would give that group a superior military advantage over the rest of the earthlings. It would also enable speeds approaching 300 million mph.

    How will you handle this?

    • K]3 says:

There is nothing to worry about. Scintillator Crystals emit light when they absorb gamma radiation. Gamma radiation on Earth is produced by nuclear waste. The most human technology could do with the information is to create batteries made of background levels of gamma radiation, or to power small electronics, such as microchips.

They have no materials that could withstand the speeds the rP*/` gained from the light those scintillator crystals emitted.

  9. E[5 says:

The debate between putting humans into suspended animation or regulating them in a deep sleep just got very interesting. Putting humans into a deep sleep allows us to regulate the part of their brains responsible for sleep-wake regulation. Pupil dynamics reflect the state of arousal, or the level of brain activation in those regions. We now know that large regions of the human brain remain responsive to stimuli while in deep-sleep.

Brain activation, the human brain’s response to stimuli can now be mapped using their pupils change in size as markers. Now we can have their brains regulate their bodies and with the proper stimulation we can have them awake with the memories we choose to implant with seamless bonding to obedience.

    • Z]5 says:

We think that we have a better and less traumatic method of gaining the same knowledge. Rather than use the pupil which would make the subject risk loss of that pupil, we us the Locus coeruleus, a part of the brain that regulates activation levels, which is located in the brainstem to track brain activation during sleep.

      • E[5 says:

Our method is much less expensive on many levels. Besides, who cares if the creatures are uncomfortable or that they may loose an eye. The Locus coeruleus is much more difficult to study while the human is asleep.

    New phone order scam?
    Support
My dad got a new phone and did the payment plan on it. He just got a call from someone claiming they’re from Comcast and they knew he just ordered a phone and they knew he received it yesterday as well as his address that they shipped it to. They said that they sent him the wrong phone and that the one they sent him is for people who “paid in full” and that they were supposed to send him a different one for the payment plan. His options were to pay it off in full or to send his phone back and they’d send him a replacement.

Now I’m 99.9% sure this is a scam but the main thing I’m curious about is how they knew all of this information if it’s not a scam.

  13. Carlos says:

For many, the only thing protecting all their personal and financial info is the four-digit PIN on their phone. While this might be enough to stop a nosy friend from snooping on your private life, phone snatchers have figured out a way around it.

    WATCH

    NEXT

    Spy Game

Phone snatching has become an increasingly large problem, and not just in big cities. The reward for thieves is increasingly not from selling devices themselves, but the data stored on them.

While phones and tablets can be difficult and time-consuming to sell or break up for parts (especially if they’re locked to your Apple or Google account), if a thief can unlock your device, they can get immediate access to your bank accounts, payment apps, and private messages. They can then transfer themselves money, or try to use your secrets against you for blackmail and other scams.

So, how do thieves unlock your device? When it’s convenient, they’ll just snatch your phone after you’ve unlocked it and keep it unlocked until they’ve done their criminal deeds. The other methods being deployed are sneakier: they might watch you for a while until you unlock your phone and memorize your PIN (would you notice someone peering over your shoulder at the bus stop?) and then steal your phone later, unlocked or not. The second approach has become so common it even has a nickname: shoulder surfing.

Try to be careful when you enter your PIN so that no one can see what you enter, or use biometric logins.

    Just Asking Nicely

Another popular method is to simply ask you nicely to unlock your phone, and it works surprisingly well. If someone comes up to you asking for directions, or for you to look up some information for them, your first thought probably isn’t that they’ll swipe your phone.

Unfortunately, this is sometimes the case, so you need to be wary that a seemingly innocent lost tourist may have plans to pinch your phone once they’ve got you to unlock it.

  14. Delores says:

    A.M. and P.M.
A few countries, namely the United States, Canada, and Australia, use the 12-hour clock instead of the 24-hour clock, which means there are two instances of each hour every day — 6:00, for example, occurs in both the morning and the evening. This results in a need to differentiate between the two halves of a 24-hour period (morning versus night), so the abbreviations “a.m.” and “p.m.” were created. The origin of these abbreviations is simple — “a.m.” stands for the Latin phrase ante meridiem, meaning “before noon,” while “p.m.” is short for post meridiem, the Latin phrase for “after noon.” The 24-hour clock — which is used throughout the rest of the world, in the American military system, and in some other industries that require worldwide coordination — has no need for such abbreviations.

    • Adrian says:

      B.C. and A.D.
“B.C.” and “A.D.” are the oldest date abbreviations still in use. “B.C.” stands for “before Christ,” as in, before the birth of Jesus Christ, a central figure in Christianity. “A.D.” stands for anno Domini, meaning “in the year of the Lord” in Latin. There is no year zero in this system — 1 A.D. was the year Christ was born, and 1 B.C. was the year before he was born.

It is unknown when this naming system first came into use, but the terms were adopted separately — “A.D.” was in use centuries before “B.C.” By the eighth century, “A.D.” was used regularly in English church documents and charters, and its use quickly spread throughout Western Europe in the ninth century. “B.C.” took much longer to catch on. There were variants of the “before” part leading up to the 18th century, when “B.C.” finally became mainstream.

Although the B.C./A.D. system took a while to become standardized, it smoothed out a lot of calendar confusion. Before this dating system, years were centered around significant events, such as the reigns of emperors and kings, which left room for a lot of misinterpretation and errors. The B.C./A.D. system was the first to account for every single year in such a uniform way.

      • Emily says:

        BCE and CE
A modern answer for the B.C./A.D. system is the use of BCE/CE, which counts years in essentially the same way as the former style. These secular abbreviations stand for “Before Common Era” and “Common Era,” but they are tied to the same periods of the Christian dating method.

The BCE/CE system has been around since the 18th century, used by various English scholars and writers. In the 17th century, before the new system caught on, “Vulgar Era” was used instead of “Common Era.” In Latin, “vulgar” means “common,” not “crude.” However, “Vulgar Era” didn’t stick, and “BCE” and “CE” have become increasingly popular.

Both B.C./A.D. and BCE/CE are still in use, but certain style guides will dictate which version to use. The BCE/CE system has become more popular in the last few decades as a way to be more inclusive in academic and secular writing, but B.C./A.D. is still widely accepted.

  15. Jacob says:

    UTC and GMT
A map of the world’s time zones will include ranges of numbers (from one through 14), plus or minus a certain number of hours from the UTC +0 zone. “UTC” stands for “Coordinated Universal Time.” This standard zone for regulating clocks is located on the prime meridian, which is the zero-degree longitudinal line. Iceland, England, Spain, Liberia, and Ghana are located within this zone. Moving to the east, each time zone goes up +1 from UTC, and moving west, each zone goes down -1 from UTC. For example, New York City is within the UTC -4 time zone (and also called the EST zone.

UTC goes by a few other names, including the obsolete “Greenwich Mean Time” (GMT) and “Zulu Time” in the American military. It was called Greenwich Mean Time from 1884 to 1972, when UTC took its place, because of the location of the Royal Observatory Greenwich in England, from which modern time was standardized. The word “mean” came about because GMT was calculated from the average of the times the sun crossed the prime meridian at the observatory in Greenwich. “Zulu Time” (still in use in the military) is based on this system — GMT was “zero meridian,” and the letter “z” in the military is “Zulu.”

  16. Steve says:

    U.S. Time Zones
Each time zone within the United States has its own UTC designation, but it also has its own local time zone name. There are six time zones within the United States: From east to west, they are Eastern Standard Time (EST), Central Standard Time (CST), Mountain Standard Time (MST), Pacific Standard Time (PST), Alaskan Standard Time (AKST), and Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time (HST). The Hawaii-Aleutian zone gets its name from Hawaii and the Aleutian Islands in Alaska, both of which fall under this zone, while the rest of Alaska is under Alaskan Standard Time.

There are an additional three time zones in U.S. territories, including Atlantic Standard Time (AST) in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Samoa Standard Time (UTC-11) in American Samoa, and Chamorro Standard Time (UTC+10) in Guam. The Chamorro people are an Indigenous group from the Mariana Islands, where Guam is located.

The next time you’re looking at a confusing list of acronyms attached to a calendar invite, remember these origins and decipher the correct date and time.
