The relationship or direct intervention by a U.S. president involving Nicolás Maduro is legally complex and subject to significant constitutional and international law challenges, with no clear legal authorization validating such actions.

The interactions between former President Trump and Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, especially involving military or political actions, raise serious legal issues under both U.S. constitutional law and international law. Key points include:

U.S. Constitutional Law:
The U.S. Constitution grants Congress the power to declare war and authorize military actions. Any unilateral strike or capture operation ordered by the president without explicit congressional approval is widely seen as a violation of these war powers. Reports indicate that such actions against Maduro lacked this congressional authorization, bringing their legality into question within the U.S. legal framework.

International Law and Sovereignty:
International law respects the sovereignty of nations. Military actions within another country without consent typically violate international norms and can be regarded as acts of aggression or war. Moving against a sitting foreign leader without multilateral agreement or United Nations authorization can have serious diplomatic and legal repercussions.

Diplomatic and Political Relations:
Political relationships between U.S. officials and Maduro’s government are marked by complexity, hostility, and competing self-interests. Cooperation or engagement often depends on diplomatic strategies and sanctions but does not necessarily imply legality of coercive or forceful measures.

In conclusion, any direct action such as capturing or forcibly removing a foreign leader like Nicolás Maduro without legal backing from Congress or international bodies poses constitutional and legal risks and is generally regarded as illegal under the current frameworks.

Fuck the law. That’s always been the whiteboy mantra. Presently they have all four branches of government in their control with a mainstream press they also control. My suggestion is to sit back and observe how far these sick racists bastards will go.

The whites in america who don’t like what is happening to them, were perfectly alright with the same thing and often times much worse to non whites for the past 250 years. Now, they are experiencing those in power using government and the law to justify their lawlessness.

Those whites expect us to react with the fear and alarm they now have. What’s that old saying, oh yeah, when you don’t complain when they come for your neighbor, who will be left to complain when they come for your neighbor?

W’ell they are coming for them, and those whites expect us to rescue them. If we do, they will repeat their callous disregard for how their white controlled government has always treated the non whites in America.

Fuck’em. We the non whites are being treated just as unjustly as we always have. They are just feeling a tiny bit of the horror of living under a system that treats those who own the system and couldn’t less about the others.

Roughly 1,000 light-years away from Earth, the Immortal has become a gigantic disk of gas and dust is swirling around a young star and giving rise to new planets.

The Immortal has grown to nearly 400 billion miles (640 billion kilometers)—that’s about 40 times wider than Earth’s entire solar system. We are recording for, the first time, a living creature with the power to create an environment. We thought the Universe created itself according to the physical laws governing the area it exists in.

This creation by the Immortal is unusually chaotic with wisps of material stretching farther above and below what the natural physical laws in the area would dictate. Strangely, these extended filaments are concentrated on just one side of the Immortal.

Watching this creature create, planets, solar systems, and filling the void with free roaming stars, black holes, and galaxy dust is exciting and intimidating at the same time.

We are literally recording planet nurseries with wispy upper layers and asymmetric features. Some resemble lopsided celestial sandwiches. The baby planets form from disks of gas and dust encircling young stars. Most of us have long believed that these protoplanetary disks were relatively orderly, serene environments where planets gradually coalesce over millions of years. Yes, some of us have challenged that assumption, pointing to greater complexity and diversity among these systems.

But today we have witnessed and recorded the instant formulation of part the Known Universe by a creature that but for our reluctance to address it as such, could be called GOD. Who or what else could create something out of absolute nothing, and do it as if it was doing something to relieve its boredom? IT is literally creating an environment for life to become the genesis of the Universe.

We are stunned to have a front row seat to the processes IT uses in shaping and building new planets—processes that we don’t yet fully understand but can now study in a whole new way.

Will we ever understand how the Immortal uses gas and dust to react with the physical phenomenon IT also creates, or other interactions with the space outside it to create the wonders we exist in? Are we recording GOD shaping the celestial environment we exist in?

We record in awe as the Immortal creates a model for an early solar system. The Immortal’s form obscures the young star (or stars) within it. But we can see it harbors either a single massive, hot star or a binary pair. The model itself contains 10 to 30 times more mass than Jupiter, meaning there’s enough material to form multiple gas giant planets. As such, this particular creation is basically a scaled-up model of what Earth’s solar system looked like 4.6 billion years ago.

The Immortal’s new creation host a vast planetary system. While the Immortal’s planet formations may differ in such massive environments, the underlying processes IT uses are likely similar. Right now, we have more questions than answers, but these new images are a starting point for understanding how the Immortal creates planets over time and in different environments.

You refer to this creature as a GOD? Are you insane? This thing is just using technology that we do not yet understand. Just because we cannot see the machinery IT is using to create what you are witnessing doesn’t mean IT isn’t using one.

A GOD? As the humans would say, “No fucking way!” When IT returns, we will find a way to neutralize this beast. If we have to destroy this solar system in the process, it would be in the most just cause.

The Immortal has not arrived back either. As IT travels at speeds we do not understand, IT could arrive at any time. But we find disconcerting that you have made your decision so soon. Most of us do not share it. We will sort it out when the Immortal returns.

I sense that he is becoming bored with being on Earth and in this part of the Quardrant. When he gave me my second 400 years, he began tinkering with the space in my area, then he just vanished. We didn’t say goodbye, he was just gone. For a long time I convinced myself that he would return, but he never did. I didn’t hear of him again until I got this assignment to leave 497J/60 and make this voyage to the Gate.

I have requested to go down to Earth with the hope that I could meet him again before he heads off to other parts of the galaxy or Known Universe. We had some very good times together and we parted as friends.

The Trump administration wants it both ways.

On Saturday, it tells us that Nicolás Maduro is such a uniquely dangerous despot — so criminal, so destabilizing, so irredeemable — that the United States had no choice but to remove him from power by force. Maduro, we are told, is a narco-dictator, a human rights abuser, a menace to his own people and to regional stability.

On Sunday, the same administration will continue putting Venezuelan asylum seekers on planes and deports them back to the country that, according to its own rhetoric, was so dangerous it required regime change.

This is not just hypocrisy. It is a logical impossibility masquerading as policy.

If Maduro’s Venezuela was intolerable enough to justify overthrow, then it was intolerable enough to justify asylum. You do not get to bomb a house because it is unlivable and then send people back inside because they lack the proper paperwork.

Yet that is precisely what is happening.

For years, Venezuelans have fled one of the worst humanitarian collapses in the Western Hemisphere — hyperinflation that wiped out life savings, food shortages, medical system breakdowns, political repression, and arbitrary detention. Millions left, with many coming north. Many asked for asylum in the United States, citing political persecution, hunger, and fear. Some were granted protection. Many were not. Under Trump, thousands were detained, fast-tracked, or deported under policies designed to narrow asylum eligibility and speed removals.

Several hundred Venezuelans were not simply repatriated. They were sent to CECOT in El Salvador, a modern-day concentration camp where they were beaten, tortured and threatened with life imprisonment and death for doing nothing more than asking for asylum from the United States.

What Really Happens When You Eat Once A Day

By now, you’ve probably heard about eating just once a day, also known as OMAD (One Meal A Day). Even rock legend Bruce Springsteen has embraced this eating pattern. With growing interest in different eating schedules, many wonder about the real effects of consuming all daily calories in a single sitting. Here’s what science tells us about this controversial eating pattern.

The body’s response during extended fasting periods

When you restrict eating to just one meal daily, your body undergoes significant changes in how it processes and uses energy. During the extended fasting period, which typically lasts 23 hours, your body shifts from using readily available glucose to burning stored fat for energy. This metabolic switch occurs because insulin levels remain low throughout most of the day.

Research from Johns Hopkins Medicine indicates that this extended fasting period can trigger various cellular processes. Your body begins to deplete glucose stores and turns to alternative energy sources. This shift doesn’t happen immediately – it typically takes several hours after your last meal for your body to enter this state.

During the fasting window, your body releases different hormones to maintain stable blood sugar levels. This hormonal response includes increased production of glucagon, which helps break down stored glycogen in the liver. Additionally, your body may increase the production of stress hormones like cortisol to help maintain energy levels throughout the day.

The extended fasting period also impacts your metabolism. Your body becomes more efficient at using stored fat for energy, a process known as metabolic flexibility. However, this adaptation period can take several weeks, and during this time, you might experience fluctuations in energy levels and mood as your body adjusts to the new eating pattern.

Changes in daily energy and concentration

Many people report significant changes in their energy levels and ability to concentrate when following a one-meal-a-day pattern. During the initial adjustment period, which can last several weeks, individuals often experience fluctuations in their energy levels throughout the day. This variation is directly related to how the body adapts to using different fuel sources when glucose isn’t readily available.

Research shows that some individuals report increased mental clarity during fasting periods, while others experience difficulty concentrating, especially in the morning hours. These differences often depend on factors like overall health, activity level, and how long someone has been following this eating pattern.

Physical performance can also be affected during the extended fasting period. Athletes and active individuals might notice changes in their workout capacity, particularly during high-intensity activities. The body’s ability to maintain peak performance without readily available glucose can be challenging, especially during the initial adaptation phase.

Sleep patterns may also shift when eating just once daily. Some people report changes in their sleep quality and duration, particularly if their one meal is consumed close to bedtime. The timing of the meal can significantly impact circadian rhythms and overall sleep architecture.

Impact on digestion and nutrient absorption

When consuming all daily calories in a single meal, the digestive system faces unique challenges. The body must process a large volume of food at once, which can affect how efficiently nutrients are absorbed. This concentrated intake can initially lead to digestive discomfort as the stomach adapts to handling larger portions in a single sitting.

Studies from recent research indicate that eating one large meal affects the body’s ability to process and utilize nutrients effectively. The digestive system might struggle to absorb all essential nutrients when they’re consumed in a single sitting, potentially leading to decreased absorption efficiency.

The timing of the single meal also influences digestion and nutrient absorption. Evening meals, which are common in one-meal-a-day patterns, may affect the body’s natural digestive rhythm. The digestive system typically functions more efficiently during daylight hours, aligned with our natural circadian rhythms.

Stomach acid production and enzyme secretion patterns adjust to the new eating schedule over time. However, this adaptation period can vary significantly among individuals, and some may continue to experience digestive challenges even after several weeks of following this eating pattern.

Effects on blood sugar and insulin response

Blood sugar regulation undergoes significant changes when switching to one meal per day. During the extended fasting period, insulin levels remain consistently low, which can enhance insulin sensitivity in some individuals. This prolonged state of low insulin may help improve the body’s ability to regulate blood sugar more effectively over time.

However, research indicates that consuming all daily calories in one sitting can lead to significant blood sugar spikes followed by sharp drops. These dramatic fluctuations might cause energy crashes, mood swings, and increased hunger sensations throughout the day.

The timing of the single meal also plays a crucial role in blood sugar regulation. Morning meals typically result in better glucose tolerance compared to evening meals. This difference is attributed to the body’s natural circadian rhythm and its impact on metabolic processes throughout the day.

Long-term effects on insulin sensitivity can vary significantly between individuals. While some people might experience improved insulin response, others, particularly those with existing blood sugar regulation issues, may find this eating pattern challenging to maintain without experiencing adverse effects.

Metabolic adaptations and long term effects

The body undergoes various metabolic adaptations when adjusting to a one-meal-per-day eating pattern. These changes often begin within the first few weeks and continue to evolve over several months. The metabolic response includes alterations in hormone production, energy utilization, and cellular repair processes.

Recent cardiovascular research has raised concerns about potential long-term effects of restricted eating windows. Studies suggest that extremely limited eating periods might increase certain health risks, particularly regarding heart health and metabolic function.

The body’s resting metabolic rate may also shift in response to prolonged periods of eating just once daily. Some individuals experience a decrease in their basal metabolic rate as the body adapts to the reduced feeding frequency. This adaptation can affect long-term energy expenditure and metabolic flexibility.

Cellular repair processes, particularly autophagy, may be enhanced during the extended fasting period. However, the benefits of these processes must be weighed against potential drawbacks of concentrated calorie intake and extended fasting periods on overall metabolic health.

    Social and lifestyle considerations

Adapting to a one-meal-a-day schedule often requires significant lifestyle adjustments. Social interactions, particularly those centered around food, can become challenging when maintaining such a restricted eating window. Many people find it difficult to align their single meal with social gatherings, business meetings, or family dinners.

Work schedules and daily routines may need modification to accommodate this eating pattern. Research suggests that maintaining consistent meal timing is important for success with this approach, but this can be challenging with varying work schedules or travel.

Exercise timing becomes particularly important when eating just once daily. Many people find they need to adjust their workout schedules to align with their eating window for optimal performance and recovery. This might mean rearranging long-standing exercise routines or adapting activity intensity based on energy levels.

The impact on social relationships and daily interactions shouldn’t be underestimated. Some people report feeling isolated or excluded from social activities that revolve around food, while others find it challenging to explain their eating pattern to friends, family, or colleagues who may not understand or support this approach.

Common challenges during the adaptation phase

The initial weeks of transitioning to one meal a day present various challenges as the body adjusts to the new eating pattern. Many people experience intense hunger pangs, particularly during the morning hours when they’re used to eating breakfast. These sensations typically peak during the first few days but can persist for several weeks.

Studies show that common side effects during this adaptation period include headaches, irritability, and difficulty concentrating. These symptoms often result from the body adjusting to using different energy sources and can vary in intensity among individuals.

Physical symptoms like dizziness, weakness, and fatigue are frequently reported during the initial adjustment period. These effects can be particularly pronounced during physical activity or mentally demanding tasks, as the body learns to maintain stable energy levels throughout the extended fasting period.

Sleep disturbances and changes in mood are also common challenges during the adaptation phase. Some people experience increased anxiety or stress around food, while others report disrupted sleep patterns as their bodies adjust to the new eating schedule.

    Managing hunger and satiety signals

When eating just once daily, the body’s hunger and fullness signals undergo significant changes. Initially, many people experience intense hunger waves throughout the day, particularly during times when they previously ate regular meals. These hunger signals often feel more intense during the first few weeks as the body adjusts to the new eating pattern.

Research from Mass General Brigham suggests that hormones controlling hunger and satiety can take several weeks to adjust to a new eating pattern. During this adjustment period, the body gradually becomes better at managing extended periods without food.

The sensation of fullness also changes when consuming all daily calories in one sitting. Many people report feeling uncomfortably full after their single meal, which can take time to normalize. The stomach needs time to adjust to processing larger portions, and learning to recognize appropriate portion sizes becomes crucial.

Over time, most people report that their bodies adapt to the new eating schedule, with hunger signals becoming more predictable and manageable. However, this adaptation varies significantly among individuals, and some may continue to struggle with hunger management even after several months.

Hormonal changes and body temperature regulation

Following a one-meal-a-day pattern triggers various hormonal responses throughout the body. The extended fasting period affects the production and timing of key hormones involved in metabolism, stress response, and energy regulation. These hormonal shifts can influence everything from mood to physical performance.

Body temperature regulation may also be affected during extended fasting periods. Some individuals report feeling colder than usual, particularly during the fasting window. This temperature change occurs as the body adjusts its energy expenditure and metabolic rate in response to the limited feeding window.

Stress hormones like cortisol often show altered patterns when eating just once daily. These changes can affect sleep quality, energy levels, and mood throughout the day. The body typically requires several weeks to establish new hormonal rhythms aligned with the single meal timing.

The timing of the single meal can significantly impact these hormonal patterns. Evening meals might disrupt natural circadian rhythms, while morning meals often align better with the body’s natural hormonal cycles.

    Recovery and physical performance changes

Athletic performance and physical recovery processes undergo significant changes when adapting to a one-meal-per-day pattern. The availability of nutrients for muscle repair and growth becomes concentrated around the single meal, which can affect how the body responds to exercise and physical stress.

Studies indicate that the timing of exercise relative to the single meal can significantly impact performance and recovery. Working out too far from the eating window might result in decreased performance, while exercising too close to a large meal can cause digestive discomfort.

Muscle maintenance and recovery require careful attention when following this eating pattern. The body’s ability to synthesize protein and repair tissue may be affected by the extended periods without nutrient intake. This becomes particularly important for individuals engaged in regular strength training or high-intensity activities.

Energy availability for different types of exercise varies throughout the fasting period. Some people report better performance during certain types of activities while fasting, while others notice decreased stamina or strength. These responses often depend on individual factors and the timing of the single meal.

When consuming all daily calories in a single meal, careful consideration must be given to consuming adequate nutrients to support recovery and performance. The concentration of nutrients in one meal presents both opportunities and challenges for optimizing physical performance and recovery processes.

The importance of mindful portion control

Managing portion sizes becomes crucial when eating just once daily, as there’s often a tendency to overeat during the single meal. The challenge lies in consuming enough calories and nutrients to sustain the body for 24 hours without overwhelming the digestive system or exceeding daily caloric needs.

Many people initially struggle with portion control when restricting eating to one meal. The extended fasting period can lead to excessive hunger, making it tempting to overeat when food becomes available. Learning to recognize appropriate portion sizes while still meeting nutritional needs requires practice and attention.

The composition of the single meal significantly impacts satiety and overall satisfaction. Including a balance of proteins, fats, and complex carbohydrates helps maintain stable energy levels throughout the extended fasting period. This balance also supports better portion control by promoting feelings of fullness and satisfaction.

Eating slowly and mindfully becomes especially important when consuming all daily calories in one sitting. This approach allows better recognition of fullness signals and helps prevent overconsumption. It also supports better digestion and nutrient absorption.

The relationship between eating patterns and daily life continues to intrigue researchers and individuals alike. While some people report success with consuming all their calories in a single meal, others find more traditional eating patterns better suit their lifestyle and needs. Understanding how this eating pattern affects your body and daily routine is crucial for making informed decisions about your eating schedule. Remember that individual responses vary significantly, and what works for one person may not work for another.

Your mail-in ballot could get thrown out on a technicality

A change in Postal Service policy, implemented in late December, could cause some ballots to be disqualified.

If you plan to vote by mail next year, you should plan to get your ballot in even earlier than usual.

That’s because a recent U.S. Postal Service policy change that affects how and when postmarks are applied could lead to some ballots being thrown out even if they were mailed on time.

To the extent that any of us thinks about postmarks — which is probably not much — we probably picture a postal clerk at a counter tapping that round rubber stamp on the upper-right corner of an envelope.

But these days, about the only people who get their mail postmarked by hand are couples sending out fancy wedding invitations. Most mail is postmarked by machine as it’s processed.

A recent Postal Service policy change that took effect this week ended the seven-decade policy of postmarks reflecting when an item is considered mailed. Now, the postmark could mean not when the Postal Service first took possession of an item but the day that that piece of mail was first received at a processing facility.

That means if you drop your ballot in a blue USPS box on Election Day — or your tax return on April 15, for that matter — it may get a postmark of the next day.

(A quick piece of advice: If you are sending in your ballot on Election Day, take it to the counter and ask for it to be manually stamped or use a ballot drop box, if you have them in your area.)

In a normal world, this postal change would not be a big deal, but the Republican Party has attempted in several recent elections to get ballots thrown out because of issues with postmarks. In Wisconsin in September 2020, a judge ruled that late-arriving ballots should be counted as long as they had been postmarked by Election Day. An appeals court later suspended the extension, and just days before the election, the Supreme Court declined to reinstate it.

Similar fights over postmarks on ballots have also happened in Pennsylvania and Nevada.

Sixteen states and the District of Columbia currently allow mail-in ballots that have been postmarked by Election Day to be counted as long as they arrive within a certain grace period, typically a couple of days after the election. Twenty-nine other states have similar grace periods that are limited to military and overseas voters.

Trump’s Secret Move to Subvert Elections
This one is critically important, because it affects us all.

On Christmas Eve, when the media was half in the tank, the Trump administration pulled a quiet, bureaucratic move that is a complete and utter subversion of democracy.

Donald Trump’s animus toward voting by mail can’t be explained solely by the fact that Democrats use it more, though that is undeniably part of the story. It is also about what it enables him to do rhetorically and politically: cast permanent doubt on the legitimacy of elections themselves.

Mail ballots arrive over time, processed in stages, and counted later than in-person votes, which creates gaps between Election Night expectations and final results, gaps that Trump has learned to weaponize as “proof” of fraud. Because mail voting is decentralized, administrative, and boring — run by clerks, counties, and state officials rather than cameras and rallies — it lends itself to conspiracy more easily than precinct voting, which looks orderly on television.

Trump doesn’t need mail voting to be fraudulent. He needs it to be procedural, because procedure can always be recast as manipulation. By attacking vote-by-mail, he is not merely trying to suppress votes he dislikes but to normalize the idea that any election outcome he or his party loses is suspect or downright illegitimate. This is the deeper project: not just partisan advantage, but the steady erosion of trust in democratic processes, replacing acceptance of results with grievance and making democracy itself contingent on his approval.

But the problem with Trump’s long crusade against mail-in voting is that it always ran into the same inconvenient obstacle: federalism. For years he stomped around like a reality TV Caesar, barking that mail ballots were “rigged” and “fraud,” and demanding that someone — anyone — do something about dangerous grandmas with stamps.

But elections are not a casino where the house rewrites the rules mid-hand. Under the Constitution’s Elections Clause, states set the “times, places, and manner” of congressional elections (subject to Congress’ ability to alter those rules). The federal government doesn’t administer elections the way it administers passports. More practically, state, county, and local officials actually run the machinery in tandem: registration, ballot design, signature checks, polling places, and tabulations.

The president can rant, threaten, and meme his followers into a frenzy, but he cannot, with a Sharpie and a tantrum, simply “end” voting by mail nationwide.

But if you are a would-be strongman who wants to strangle democracy without passing state laws (and without leaving fingerprints), you don’t start with Congress or with state legislatures. You start with the plumbing.

And this is why what happened on Christmas Eve is so dangerous. …

Trump has no plan for Venezuela other than stealing its oil. There is no plan. That is the interesting part. Donald Trump did not even bother to lie to the American people ahead of time about why he was doing this. Typically, the process goes like this: you lie to Congress, convince them to go along, then lie to the American people, creating a sheen of legitimacy. I am not saying that is good. It is terrible. The invasion of Iraq was a crime against humanity, and the blood on the hands of the architects of that horror can never be erased.

This time, Trump did not even notify Congress. In fact, he likely informed the CEOs of major oil companies before anyone else. We know for a fact that he did not consult the Gang of Eight, the bipartisan group of congressional leaders who are supposed to be briefed on matters like this. This is not really about regime change. In fact, I doubt it is about regime change at all. Trump does not care about Maduro’s crimes. Trump does not care what Maduro does or does not do, past or present. After all, he just pardoned the former president of Honduras, a man who was tried and convicted of crimes far worse than anything Maduro is currently charged with.

So why pardon one and kidnap the other?

I am not entirely sure, but Trump clearly has personal grievances with Maduro. Perhaps it is because Maduro succeeded where Trump failed. Maduro refused to concede an election he lost and stayed in power, whereas Trump had to wait four years before his coup finally succeeded. Incidentally, that anniversary is coming up tomorrow. Let’s start taking bets on how long it takes before January 6 becomes a national holiday.
It is also possible that pardoning the Honduran president was simply another signal from Trump that he does not appreciate it when justice prevails. This is part of a larger strategy. It is obviously about oil, yes, but it started with the bombing of boats in the Caribbean and the declaration that Tren de Aragua was a terrorist organization. That designation effectively gave Trump free rein to do whatever he wanted under the guise of justification.

At least 110 people have been murdered in the Caribbean Sea. Were they guilty of something? We do not know. Were they guilty of something that warranted the death penalty? We do not know. What we do know is that they were not tried, they were not convicted, and they were not sentenced. Dozens of people in Venezuela are now dead. They were killed as part of another egregious misuse of the United States military. The question, then, is when, if ever, Congress will stand up. Republicans will not. Will the American people finally look at this continuing lawlessness and the willful abdication of constitutional responsibility by Republicans in Congress and decide that these people must be replaced?

The Trump regime has now launched a massive federal law enforcement surge in Minnesota, and that is no accident. Nearly 2,000 Department of Homeland Security agents are being deployed to Minneapolis and St. Paul. The operation includes heavy involvement from Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This crackdown has fueled fear and protests, particularly within Minnesota’s Somali American community. That may be because Trump has repeatedly used grotesquely racist rhetoric about Somali immigrants. He has called them garbage. He has claimed Somalia is not a real country. He has deliberately softened the ground for hate crimes against Somali Americans.

This operation is being framed as both an immigration crackdown and a fraud investigation, as Minnesota faces intense scrutiny over long-running fraud schemes involving federally funded programs. Prosecutors have charged more than 90 people and estimate losses in the billions. Consequently, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has announced that he will not seek a third term. That outcome is appropriate if Walz played a role, knowingly or not. However, the scandal is also being used as an excuse for Trump to terrorize yet another vulnerable community, because under his leadership, racism is once again socially acceptable in America.

One of the most devastating things Trump has done to this country is give people permission to be their worst selves. He has made cruelty, racism, misogyny, anti-trans bigotry, homophobia, Islamophobia, and anti-immigrant hatred something people no longer feel compelled to hide. Instead, they are encouraged to be open about it and even proud of it. That degrades all of us.

How many days has it been since 2026 began? Five. That seems impossible, doesn’t it?
