Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/press\/en\/2018\/sga1813.doc.htm\">appointed<\/a>\u00a0Sahle-Work Zewde as special representative to the African Union and head of the U.N. Office to the African Union \u2014 again, the first woman in the role. She was previously director-general of the U.N.
