People wear green this day because shamrocks (a\/k\/a clover) are commonly associated with this holiday. According to folklore, you get pinched on St. Patrick’s Day for not wearing green because green makes you invisible to leprechauns.  Apparently leprechauns like to pinch \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n
