Roe was overturned when Mitch McConnell refused to allow the Senate to vote on Merrick Garland as Antonin Scalia’s replacement. At a technical level, the Supreme Court’s decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization won’t be released until next June. So in June, we’ll find out if Roe has been overturned (it has been).”
If Roe v. Wade is actually overturned, you can bet gay marriage will be next. Why can’t the U.S. country just move forward??

This process has been a long term calculated effort on the part of the GOP for years. It began to take shape with the Koch Bro’s campaign for Citizen’s United, in 2010, during the Obama administration. Prior to that, the Republicans made a calculated effort to test the waters of the new President and the Democratic lead House and Senate, when Congressman Joe Wilson(R-SC) blurted out “You lie!” during the first joint house session of the joint Congress. It was then that the GOP, most specifically Mitch McConnell(R-KY), knew that he could get his dreams complete in a short period of time. The fact that Obama simply let the comment slide McConnell knew then that he would be able strong hold the administration. What Obama might have thought about doing was to kick out the freshman Congressman Wilson telling him that his antics were uncalled for and he should leave the room. Obama had an opportunity to make an example of Wilson to show just how much Obama would bend, but he lost that opportunity. McConnell saw this and knew then he would play hard ball. And hard ball indeed did the GOP play and they have not stopped since.
The GOP is a well run political machine, whether you like their antics or not. The DNC has been progressively failing in their political prowess since Gore walked away from baby Bush’s childlike antics to sue for the presidency. That also help seal the deal for the GOP in knowing how deep the pussy of the DNC is. Quite deep.
Only a few years was all it took for the GOP to retake the Congress and Mitch was back on top. He then spent the rest of the Obama years withholding any judge positions to be filled by that administration. This paved the way for the GOP to gerrymander the fuck out of 19 states to a point of seemingly no return for a true democratic process.
The combination of these factors has since created a juggernaut of political machinery in the GOP that has not been seen in this country. As the DNC failed to see the true desire of the American people and silenced Senator Bernie Sanders(D-VT) and placed a publicly tainted Hillary Clinton as their dream spokesperson it was over. The DNC failed leaving the onslaught of Bernie supporters dumbfounded and frustrated with the party.
Trump slipped right through the racist cracks of America that Joe Wilson, Mitch McConnell and the GOP had pried open with careful strategy creating a perfect storm of an opportunity to fill over 30% of all federal judge benches across the nation. The pussy grabbing Trump was also blessed with filling 3 Lifetime appointment seats to the Supreme Court.
We are in this position because the democrats have failed at politics. It is clear that the GOP, as an entity, will stop at nothing including unfashionable corruption at the highest levels to turn this country back to 1840 when the black community held no rights and women were fuck machines, and that’s it. If you aren’t a rich, white guy you can go fuck yourself.
It’s funny because the 32% faithful followers of anything Trump are mostly uneducated, white men who live with the fantasy that their party gives a fuck about them.
This is nothing to say about how Reagan dismantled the Fairness Doctrine(1949) through the advent of cable television technology vs broadcast therein laying the roadmap to create the disinformation machine that FOX and all of the uneducated, racist, talking heads that fill that fucked up network.
This has been a long game and the GOP have shown their masterful racism and bigotry that has since dominated the American political landscape.
You are more than correct Doug. Citizens United was a travesty of justice. Gore simply rolled over and spread ’em. The Dems not supporting Bernie, telling AOC to stand in line, and her struggle to move the party towards progression really shows our two party system is actually just one legislative party. Until the country denounces the two party system, and insists that the makeup of Congress accurately reflects the makeup of its populace, we are in for more of the same. The announcement that an extraterrestrial piece of technology was discovered in your sector means it is your responsibility to recover it. Whatever you need to do to recover it must be done. The department of natural disasters will cooperate.
We have a device missing in that area, but it is in no danger of being apprehended because its protective field works by bonding the atoms around it with an electromagnetic force.
Why are we sweating the loss of our technology. We can just demand they return it. The best they have is their hypersonic weapons. Why are we concerned about those megaton monstrosities? Their max speed is mach 5. We have soldiers with hand held weapons that fire at Mach 11. Why are we being forced to respect these creatures? They are food at best.
That “piece of technology” was specifically designed to keep the human monkey brain from understanding it. Until they are sufficiently technologically advanced in their science, it will do just that. Allow them to amuse themselves with the discovery of something they will never understand.
It is not our property that has been discovered. We have a force field which prevents any type of tampering if lost.
The forcefield should be enhanced to prevent any type of electrical device being around it. The forcefield that prevents any type of animal life from being around it, or penetrating it is not sufficient.
We have hand held devices capable of dismantling the guidence systems that control their hypersonic glide vehicles of destruction. Their max speed is about 3,900 miles per hour. Our subsurface mobiles are capable of more that twice that speed. We are in no danger from these primitive creatures. Let them destroy their planet and then we can terraform it to our needs.
Humans are not capable of wielding weapons that can achieve hypersonic velocities against us. At that speed the friction created against those missiles as they moved through the air could destroy the missiles themselves if not precisely controlled. Their ability accurately target us from hundreds or even thousands of miles away requires a great deal of expensive technology. The training required to leverage it involves years of work. Our background in ballistic and cruise missile technology should be passed on to these primitives to make it more sporting for us to confront them. As it is, it is like swatting ants in a bottle. BORING!!
Unfortunately when they were exposed to early hypersonic technology back in the 30’s the Germans used it to create the Nazi V-2 rocket. Like then, the humans continue to use the hypersonic weapons information we give to them to wage war upon themselves. They will never be even decently qualified game.
