It’s 5:00 pm, 2020 Fillmore, SF, Harry’s Bar. Looks unlikely that I will make it, but you never know.
My excursion to Big Sur was just what my soul needed. We did some great hiking at Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, and hit a few tourist spots, including Nepenthe (hellacious lines for a table, but you can grab a drink at the bar and enjoy the view out on the patio). They have an awesome gift shop with lots of jewelry from local artists and just unique things overall.
Then we checked out River Inn. This place is special. They have adirondack chairs that are placed in the river behind the restaurant. You can sit in the river have a drink and a bite – when they call your number to pick up your food, they give it to you in a little Coleman cooler so you can take to the river. This was a sweet spot!
What a great getaway. I’m just sorry it didn’t last longer. It is so beautiful in Big Sur. Go if you’ve not been.
Back in the day, all this rain would have meant big groups coming in…. so what’s the status now? I’m feeling a little forgotten 🙁 I thought I’d be gone by now.
