thanky!

How was everyone’s thanksgiving? I hope you had a better day than I, and was able to enjoy your time with loved ones. I went to a local hotel with friends and it was pretty bad. I mean, they served dried out ratatouille as one of the dishes. Who does that? There was no mashed potatoes, no gravy, no dressing, no cranberries. Just some overly cheesed brussels sprouts, gluey rice, glutinous sweet potatoes, pork belly that was as dry as shoe leather, short ribs, and a dark meat turkey boulintine with corn meal inside. No seasoning in sight! For $100, where’s the breast meat? Don’t even ask about the desserts. Just a disappointment all the way around, excluding the company.

Today, I’m up for the remedy, and cooking my own turkey. Dry brined, spatchcocked, herby butter under the skin….I’m hoping to get my turkey fix today. Does it really matter when you eat it?

I heard a rumor that My Loved One might possibly show up. I’m hoping its more than a rumor. You never know with this ground crew. Lately, I seem to be caught up in a loop. I bring them in, they say hello, and then I never hear from anyone again, until the next group comes in, says hello, and disappears. I’m on rinse and repeat. Does anyone know how to break this cycle so that some actual things can get done? It’s been very quiet on The Avenue too. I’m sure the regular readers would be interested in knowing what is happening with The Gate as well.

But for today, let me be present here and now, to just say:

I hope you get a long weekend too!

Thank you for reading today's post. Have an InterStellar Day! ~PrP

Trump’s sons have a well organized office set up to handle petitions for pardons from tRump. They are for sell to the highest bidders. If you have stolen $billions and are willing to part with tens of millions for your pardon, their office will take your calls.

For his break-out role in Hollywood, The Mambo Kings, Antonio Banderas learned and spoke all of his lines phonetically (with the help of an interpreter) since he was just starting to learn English.

Romaine Reigns Supreme in E. coli Outbreaks
When it comes to E. coli contamination, romaine lettuce takes the crown – and not in a good way. According to a decade-long study, romaine lettuce was responsible for a whopping 54% of E. coli outbreaks linked to leafy greens. This means that more than half of the time when leafy greens were implicated in an outbreak, romaine was the culprit.

    Did You Know
Vanna White’s name, despite having a perfect stage name ring to it, is actually her real name—she was born Vanna Marie Rosich, but adopted her stepfather’s last name, White, when she was young.

    Charging for services NOT receiving
    Support
I’m floored that Comcast Business thinks it’s their god given right to charge businesses for services they aren’t receiving. Billing cycle ends 11/30, service cancelled 11/19 and they said they can bill be for 30 days after. Like what the actual eff! As a small business owner, the $155 is a lot for us when adding in every other fee! I’ve tried calling, tried chatting but all it does is get me more irritated!

Burger King consistently ranks as America’s most disappointing burger chain, with reviewers criticizing their dry, flavorless patties and overwhelming sauce combinations. Despite being one of the largest chains by volume, their quality control issues persist across locations, with particular problems in their signature Whopper sandwich that many find drowning in condiments rather than showcasing the beef.

Bacon is a breakfast staple that many of us struggle to cook perfectly. The stovetop method often leaves us with unevenly cooked strips, grease splatters everywhere, and the constant need to watch and flip. But there’s a better way: start with a cold oven. This simple technique transforms your bacon experience with consistent results and virtually no mess.

Why the cold oven method works so well

Starting bacon in a cold oven isn’t just convenient—it’s scientifically sound. When bacon begins cooking at room temperature and gradually heats up, the fat has time to render slowly and evenly. This slow rendering is the key to perfectly crispy bacon without burning. In contrast, putting bacon directly into a hot oven causes the meat to seize quickly while the fat hasn’t had enough time to properly render.

The gradual temperature increase allows the bacon to cook thoroughly from all sides. As the oven warms up to around 400°F, the bacon undergoes a transformation from flabby to firm to crispy. This method essentially mimics the low-and-slow approach that professional chefs use for many types of meat.

Temperature control is another benefit of the cold oven method. When you place bacon in a preheated oven, the outer edges often cook faster than the middle. The cold start eliminates this problem by heating the bacon strips gradually and evenly from all sides, ensuring that every bite has the same perfect texture.
