I wanted to leave a comment, but it was changed to this frivolous topic. I wanted to respond to the write up about women dissing other women by Michelle I., but you just switched the topic for this tripe heading.

Really? So how do I do it and let people know what I am responding to?
You have a point. Plus how are we to know how much time we have to absorb what is posted to this blog, if we have no idea when PrP is going to change topics. Michelle changed every day so we knew how long we had to respond or check it out before the next day. PrP doesn’t seem to have any such rhyme or reason when she changes so we are at best just lucky if we get to read or respond to a discourse on her blog.
Thanks for summing up my feelings on this matter. I wanted to comment about PrP’s post on the British colonialism, but she closed it as if she didn’t really want sincere comment.
PrP, I’m with Linda, give us some consideration. If this is going to be a go to blog for discussion about what we want to talk about, you need to let us in on the ground rules in which you operate by. Tell us how long we have to reply so we don’t get caught missing out on commenting on a topic that interest us. I mean damn, I just told my BFF about this blog and she barely had time to read before you changed the topic. I can get behind the new topic because I feel that way about the bitch that just up and moved out while I was at work. The thing is I still miss her even though she left me to marry a man. So today I am drowning in sorrow. I get it, I really do. But to be honest, we need a heads up on your blog changing timing.
The republicans are setting in place through their billionaire connections a means to slow down the supply via the railroads and ports. They want to sabotage the supply of goods so that prices will go through the roof. The are doing this to ensure that the price at the point of consumer consumption is way up. That will give them the talking points on inflation that they feel they need to win back the House and the Senate.
Obviously they don’t care about the welfare of the nation or the financial burden they will place on the average American. These are some sick motherfuckers. Party, power, and money before country.

This planet is heading towards the Big Bang. Here is Russia’s take on how it will go:
The thesis voiced by Foreign Minister Lavrov, months ago, only now it has caught fire in the Russian mainstream: The war in Ukraine is nothing more than the first battle in the war of civilizations. If Russia wins, the West will “surrender unconditionally” and stop teaching Russia how to live — and then perhaps there will be no new battles.
But there can be no “ifs.” Russia will win, the propagandists say, again and again, and this is where the most disturbing elements of the new message take shape. Increasingly on Russian media, one hears Kremlin-backed speakers saying, If it takes pushing the nuclear button, then so be it. Putin’s veiled threats to use nuclear weapons in the early days of the war have found new life. Here was Margarita Simonyan, once again appearing on Vladimir Solovyov’s program:
“Either we win in Ukraine, or World War III begins. Personally, I consider the path of the Third World War to be the most realistic, because knowing us, knowing our leader, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the most incredible thing is that, in the end, it will all end in a nuclear strike. This seems to me more likely than the other possibility [Ukraine’s defeat].”
Solovyov responded immediately by quoting Putin himself, who said well before the war, “We will go to paradise, but they will all die miserably.”
This was posted by Ulyanov who is a senior Russian diplomat.
Ukrainians are no longer described as innocent victims of their “Nazi” leaders. Recently Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s official representative to international organizations in Vienna, expressed “disappointment” with the Ukrainian people. And commenting on a Twitter post by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about U.S. military assistance, Ulyanov wrote: “No mercy to the population of Ukraine!”
I buy rotisserie chickens from many different sources. Costco is the only one that has pink inside which suggests it is undercooked. All others are cooked well. Why?
Costco chickens are thoroughly cooked and temperature checked. There are many factors involved in cooked chicken with a pink tinge. The most likely source is the food that they’re fed. Costco raises its own chickens so they’re diet has a great deal to do with the color after they’re fully cooked.
Is the “casting couch” real in the entertainment industry?
As I’ve written before, sex has been a central element of the entertainment biz since actors first climbed on a stage.
Actress Susan Sarandon, now 75, says that the casting couch has always been part of Hollywood, and accepts that ongoing reality so long as no coercion or force is involved.
Of course, there’s often a vague and mushy borderline to coercion, since one party has more leverage than the other, and the other party is desperate to get a role in a movie or TV show and so will “do what it takes”.

I suspect that the behaviors of predatory power brokers have changed only a little here in the modern age of “MeToo”. How was Laura Dern dumped by Billy Bob Thornton?
Actress Laura Dern, currently co-starring in Jurassic: World 3 Dominion with her ex-boyfriend Jeff Goldblum, was dramatically dumped by her then long-term fiancé, Billy Bob Thornton.
Billy Bob completely ghosted her so that he could go off and marry another woman. Thornton dumped Laura Dern without any warning, married Angelina Jolie, and left Dern to deal with the shocking end of their relationship.
Dern has referred to the shocking situation as “like a sudden death” of a loved one.
From 1997 to 2000, Dern was in a relationship with Billy Bob Thornton. As Dern later explained it, when she was away filming a movie, Thornton married another famous actor (Angelina Jolie), leaving her to find out that her relationship was over because her fiancé was now someone else’s husband.
Ever since I heard the story, I have always been a fan of Laura Dern. No one deserves to be treated like that. No matter what. It’s just my opinion, but there it is folks.

How did the Germans treat the capture of Soviet female soldiers?
The German hierarchy did not believe that women are supposed to be in actual combat. As a result, they used them only for secondary duties like guarding prison camps, drivers, and other jobs.
In contrast, many snipers in the Red Army were women and women pilots of the Russian Air Force took actual part in combat. The Russians threw in almost 1,000,000 women into battle.
This was hard for German army to reconcile. On the 29th of June 194i, Field Marshall Gunther von Kluge, commander of the 4th army issued an order that captured women soldiers were to be summarily shot dead.
This order, of course was illegal and was rescinded but individual commanders continued passing orders and women taken as POWs were shot. However, this was not the end. In October 1941, when many women were captured from behind German lines indulging in partisan activities, Field Marshal Walter von Reichenau issued specific orders that women along with captured Russian soldiers were to be immediately shot dead. Further down the line, the commander of the 75th division General Earnst Hammer issued another order stating roughly the same thing.
The end result of these orders is that the woman soldiers taken as POW’s were summarily shot. However, a few were captured and suffered sexual abuse. The sad part is that these orders were not issued by the Gestapo or the SS but by the so-called professional German army for which there was no excuse.

Ukraine also faces a disadvantage that its allies have imposed on it, my colleague Helene Cooper points out. What historical character was considered a madman until he was proven to be right?
Without a doubt, if history was unfair to a character whose relevance continues to this day and after two centuries, now more than ever, continues to save millions of lives, that was Ignaz Semmelweis, SAVIOR OF MOTHERS.
Don’t be surprised if the name doesn’t ring a bell. This stranger was hired in July 1846 as an assistant doctor in a Hungarian hospital dedicated to the maternity and obstetrics of poor women, especially prostitutes. There he was the first to demonstrate without a doubt that there were disease-producing agents that were spread by contact and that could be eliminated through hygiene measures. He was ultimately the discoverer of antisepsis.
His story is horrible. Saddened by the high mortality of women and children after childbirth, he realized that deaths from “puerperal fevers” were more numerous in those births that had been attended by doctors, while in those attended by midwives (a craft profession without academic training at that time) were much less. This was to such an extent that women, aware of the risk they suffered, preferred to give birth in other hospitals with apparently worse material and human resources. Our hero, he investigated and raised a multitude of possibilities before concluding in any of them, but in the end the reality was so obvious that he was frightening. Clearly the cause was something that the doctors were carrying in their hands and that seemed to come from the autopsy room.
That was how horrible the health reality was at that time; doctors performed autopsies and, without cleaning their hands or changing their clothes, went to deliver babies. The result may seem obvious to us today, but at that time it was not at all clear, since it was unknown that bacteria and other microorganisms could cause communicable diseases and even more so that we could carry them on our hands.
To test his theory, he instituted scrupulous hygiene measures (which we now call antisepsis) with special emphasis on the hands, and compared the cases that appeared with and without these measures. The numbers were more than clear, meridians: MORTALITY DUE TO PUERPERAL FEVER HAD FALLEN IN A SHORT TIME FROM 18 TO 0.9%
What a success, right? She expected congratulations, praise, awards… None of that. She had dared to accuse doctors of being the “causatives” of the deaths of countless children and women. This is because of China’s shameless manipulation of its two-currency system. Plus everything Russia buys from China comes at a 40–50% markup for the same reason. Oil is currently selling for around $90/bbl. Russia’s breakeven price is $70/bbl. But it is currently selling oil to India for $60/bbl and to China for ~$50/bbl.
Russia is well on its way to becoming an economic vassal state of China. Xi likely has determined that it is in China’s interest to basically stay out of the war and slowly bring Russia into its economic orbit.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan on Monday cautioned that courts look political and forfeit legitimacy when they needlessly overturn precedent and decide more than they have to.
Speaking less than three months after a five-justice conservative majority overturned Roe v. Wade’s constitutional guarantee of abortion access, Kagan said the public’s view of the court can be damaged especially when changes in its membership lead to big changes in the law.
She stressed that she was not talking about any particular decision or even a string of rulings with which she disagreed.
Still, her remarks were similar to points made in dissenting opinions she wrote or contributed to in recent months, including in the abortion case.
“Judges create legitimacy problems for themselves … when they instead stray into places where it looks like they’re an extension of the political process or when they’re imposing their own personal preferences,” Kagan said at Temple Emanu-El in New York. The event was livestreamed.
The 62-year-old New Yorker struck a different tone from Chief Justice John Roberts, who spoke to a gathering of judges and lawyers in Colorado Springs, Colorado, last week.
“Simply because people disagree with an opinion is not a basis for questioning the legitimacy of the court,” Roberts said.

Sex is one of life’s greatest pleasures and yet, in 2019, NATSAL (National Surveys of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles), reported that sexual frequency was in decline. Answers surrounding why we aren’t having as much sex are more complicated than just what the data is telling us. So perhaps we need to pose a new question. Should we be treating this trend as a public health concern? And, what could we learn about our health if we did?
You’d be forgiven for thinking that the world of late currently resembles something of a Margaret Atwood dystopia. Across the globe, we’ve been dished out once-in-a-lifetime event after once-in-a-lifetime event. There’s an ongoing climate crisis making predictions of certain doom a hot, sticky reality; the ever-present COVID-19 pandemic, on top of 14 years of austerity measures; devastating yet reoccurring stories of violence against women and people of marginalised genders; monkeypox; the cost of living crisis; and the biggest drop in the standard of living since the ‘50s.
It’s easy to see why many of us might be feeling disinterested in sex. If you’re feeling a little less frisky than usual yourself, know you’re in good company. Between 34 and 35.6 percent of women have reported that a lack of interest in sex is one of the most common sexual problem they face, according to a study conducted by the International Journal of Sexual Health in 2019. In fact, our urge to jump under covers has steeply declined since 2008.
Collectively, we’ve had it rough. With a consistent stream of new-normals (that feel anything but normal) paired with rising rates of depression and anxiety, it’s easy to see how these macro events are impacting us personally. It’s been pretty unforgiving, for all of us*. Well, mostly, (*cough cough — party gate — cough*).
But, what can we learn about these reports of declining sexual frequency? Simply put, the decline in sexual frequency points to a disquieting trend with wider implications associated with public health.
Why sexual frequency matters in public health
Public health is made up of numerous markers such as reports of disease, injury, mental health, and healthcare resources. These help to determine changes and trends like rising birth rates, the state of mental health, the greying of the population (i.e. how many people are getting older and living in old age), and life expectancy. So, where does sexual frequency fit into this?
“Sexual frequency is a marker that one can use for measuring public health,” says Dr. Olwen Williams, consultant in sexual health and HIV medicine at Betsi Cadwalader University Health Board. Williams suggests that, for a complete health picture, we need to include sexual health and quality of sex to understand public health better.

Sex is one of the most natural of human urges. It’s how we express love, passion, desire and companionship. We communicate through sex with our partners and with ourselves. It impacts our sense of self, affecting things like our self-esteem and self-image, both positively and negatively.
Sex is a spectrum of experiences, ranging from sensual touching and threesomes to solo play, mutual masturbation, anal sex, and so much more. Pleasure is the measure of quality sex, though it doesn’t always need to involve climax. Orgasms are without a doubt earth-shatteringly fantastic, but they’re not the be-all and end-all of sex. Pleasure and sex can involve vibrators, slippery lubes, and deliciously filthy language. So, when researchers say fewer people are having sex, they include all of this really great stuff too. And, that matters.
The connection between sexual frequency and public health is symbiotic, according to Williams. If reports of holistic sexual frequency are high, it points to a society that has good standards of care, stable living standards, and a general sense of feeling safe. Vice versa, if people aren’t having as much hashtag-good-sex, it could mean the populous is generally under immense mental and physical health strains. Focusing our attention on when people are having satisfying sex could help us predict more than just how people feel. Data is already proven to help NHS and governments prepare for health trends and provide better care for things like depression and anxiety, two of the largest mental health contributors to presenteeism and absenteeism, which costs the UK’s economy £15.1 billion a year. So, why should information about the quality of our sex lives be forgotten if it has the potential to aid in better understanding our full wellness profile?
Sex is a missing part of the public health puzzle
For things to change our social discourse surrounding sex, however, shame and judgement need a reckoning. Education and campaigning for more authentic education surrounding sexual encounters has proven to dismantle shame, judgement and more serious matters, such as assaults, which disproportionately affect marginalised genders, Black and POC women from low-income households. However, initiatives that offer more transparent education surrounding sex have previously been met with pearl-clutching-protest — despite the benefits, and despite reports by the Sex Education Forum that young people have shocking gaps in their knowledge when it comes to sex and relationship education.
But it’s not just young people experiencing concerning levels of social censorship, as Williams explains: “I think probably most people are very ‘British’ and they don’t talk about their sexual desires and needs as they get older, and therefore if they don’t have those conversations there is an unmet need. This can cause distress,” she tells Mashable.
She’s not wrong. According to studies by condom brand Durex, 63 percent of people they surveyed say that self love and sex toys are taboo topics, while half of those surveyed wouldn’t dream of telling their partner(s) about masturbation needs. However, 47 percent wished that they had more confidence to achieve what they wanted sexually. There is a clear disconnect between what we want and what we’re willing to admit to wanting.
