Do you remember in the early 2000s, when South African doctor Sonette Ehlers invented Rape-aXe? She spent 40 years developing the anti-rape condom in hopes to provide women with a means of self-defense and perpetrator identification in high-risk environments. Preparing this post today, I learned that she was not the first to attempt it. From Wiki:
Jaap Haumann
An early prototypical anti-rape female tampon was invented in late 2000 by Jaap Haumann, a South African man, for the purpose of preventing rape.[5] Haumann’s device was designed to resemble a tampon for ease of insertion, and consisted of a hard cylindrical plastic core containing a tensioned spring blade primed to slice when pressed against by the tip of a penis. Following activation, a portion of the tip of the penis would be removed, in effect performing a minor penectomy.
Rape-aXe
An anti-rape female condom using a different design was invented by Sonette Ehlers [Wikidata], a South African doctor.[6] Ehlers was motivated to create it while working as a blood technician with the South African Blood Transfusion Service, during which time she met many rape victims. Ehlers mentioned that she was inspired to create RAPEX (later renamed to Rape-aXe) when a patient who had been raped stated, “If only I had teeth down there,”[7] suggesting the myth of the vagina dentata. Initially called RapeX, the name was changed in 2006 upon discovering that RAPEX is also an EU warning system against dangerous goods on the market.
The Rape-aXe is a latex sheath embedded with shafts of sharp, inward-facing barbs that would be worn by a woman in her vagina like a female condom. If an attacker were to attempt vaginal rape, his penis would enter the latex sheath and be snagged by the barbs, causing the attacker excruciating pain during withdrawal and giving the victim time to escape. The condom would remain attached to the attacker’s body when he withdrew and could only be removed surgically,[8] which would alert hospital staff and police. Like most condoms, Rape-aXe also usually prevents pregnancy and the transmission of HIV and sexually transmitted infections.
Rape-aXe was unveiled on August 31, 2005, in South Africa. There have been objections to Ehlers’ invention, describing it as “vengeful, horrible, and disgusting” and its planned sale in pharmacies has been opposed.[9][10] Concerns were raised that use of the device could possibly enrage an attacker and further jeopardize the victim.[11] Ehlers responded saying that “many women have been killed over time, as nobody can guarantee the outcome of any rape” and that the pain caused from Rape-aXe will temporarily disable the attacker, giving the victim time to get away.
Although media coverage at the time implied that mass production was due to begin in April 2007,[12] the device has never been marketed to the public and it remains unclear whether the product will ever be available for purchase.
Today, VenusGuard is on the scene, and trying to bring that product to market. They are currently fundraising.
If you would like to see this much needed product come to market like I do, you t0o can donate, like I did. Here is the link. Don’t be surprised if it does come to market, that men will legislate to ban it. But for now, let’s get this thing out there, doing what it was made to do!
In the United States, nearly 1 in 6 women and 1 in 71 men have experienced attempted or completed rape in their lifetime. About 127,527 rape cases were reported in 2024, with roughly 60% of cases committed by acquaintances, not strangers. Most victims are under 30, and only a small percentage of cases result in conviction.
Key U.S. Statistics (via RAINN)
- Frequency: A sexual assault occurs in the U.S. roughly every 68 seconds.
- Perpetrator Relationship: 80-85% of sexual assaults are committed by someone known to the victim (acquaintance, intimate partner, or family member).
- Victim Demographics: Over 90% of victims are female; 54% of victims are aged 18–34.
- Reporting Rates: Only about 25% to 40% of sexual assaults are reported to the police, according to different studies.
Key Data Points
- Lifetime Impact: Nearly 1 in 5 women (18.3%) and 1 in 71 men (1.4%) have experienced rape.
- Age Factor: 79.6% of female victims experienced their first rape before age 25.
- Child Victimization: Approximately 63,000 children are victims of sexual abuse per year, with 34% of victims under age 12.
- Conviction Rate: Only 2% of rapists are convicted and imprisoned.
- Legal Outcomes: Average sentence for sexual abuse offenders is 178 months (roughly 15 years), with 54.9% sentenced within the guidelines.
Global Context
- A UN report indicated over 250,000 cases of rape or attempted rape are recorded by police annually across 65 countries.
- Globally, 1 in 3 women has experienced physical or sexual violence in their lifetime.

“love wasn’t just grand gestures and passionate declarations, but the simple, stubborn decision to remain, to care, to forgive.”
The past shapes us, but it does not define us completely. We all have regrets. Some are too big to overcome. Some carry consequences that follow you no matter how far you run.
This applies to aliens also, assuming you are not an alien. The U9(>7 event comes to mind. You know who you are.
Humans have discovered the Tunnel created by the Immortal. Now they know they can use it to cut in half the round trip from Earth to Mars. We must find a way to limit the use of the Tunnel by humans.
This may have been the intention of the Immortal all along. Our research says that the Immortal has been a part of this regent of the Known Universe from the beginning. In fact we shave evidence to show that he created the environment that produced Earth’s Sun some 4.5 billion years ago. We know that he has witnessed at least 20 complete orbits of Earth’s Sun around the center of the Milky Way.
It takes the Sun about 225-250 million years to orbit once around the Milky Way. That means IT has been in this area at least 5 billion years. Earth’s Sun is only about 4.5 billion years old. It has another 5 to 6 billion years of life left. So why did the Immortal suddenly decide to leave? There is no sign of IT in this area of the Milky Way.
I think it is safe to say that your view of IT and time, in this specific situation, is creating a disconnect of IT. The time of IT being away from Earth or the Milky Way is but what could be a fraction of a moment to you or humans. Much like a fly to humans. I think it is safe to say that IT has been around this region for a while and will return in IT’s own time. However, it might just all be a blink in the eye(s) or whatever else is the means for sense.
This human is illuminating the dilemma we have been attempting to get all of us in this part of the Known Universe to realize we are in. This creature must be brought under our control.
It has been suggested that “time” as we (aliens) know it may not exist for the Immortal. If as some of our scientists suggest, for the Immortal “time” is but a point where everything exists and he just steps off into whatever place IT wishes. That hypothesis cannot be advanced upon since we have no scenarios in which to exact an example.
However, we can continue to try to discover a time in which the Immortal did not exist. Given that IT can move galaxies around and anything within one, we need to discover what IT is vulnerable to and if it is just immortal “time” wise or if IT truly is impervious to harm.
PrP, proud to say men will not allow those gadgets on the market because they could hurt men in a very serious way. If a woman gets raped she still has the pussy. So why should a man lose his Dick just because he wants a pussy that maybe doesn’t want him?
This is why men are losing in the game of love. They think they’re cute and manly when they attack a woman or a young girl. What a poor excuse for being a man, I guess you will never raise to be a gentle gentleman and to be respectful.
I say let the penectomies begin.
LOL
I couldn’t agree more.
Why are you bitches so violent? We, men have been protecting your sorry asses fucking forever. All we ask is a little pussy every now and then. Why are you begrudging us that? If I want to put my wife in a state so that I can enjoy the benefits a I married her for, that’s my right.
Ever since you bitches got governments to take away our conjugal rights so you could accuse us of rape, you have been on a mission to de ball all men. Now the only way we can fuck the bitch we married the way we want is to drug the bitch. Now whose fault is that? Real men are going to have the pussy, ass, and whatever hole we want to fuck on the bitch we married in whatever way we can. If that means we have to drug the bitch to do it so be it.
You castrating bitches put us in that position.

Thank you for the information Alycdedale. I’m getting my replaced soon and I’m glad to know there is an out. He has spent SO MUCH taxpayer money on putting his face and name on shit. It’s gross. And then when he’s out of office and in jail, all of it will be reversed.
From your mouth to the Democrats’ ears.
Not everyone is suffering from this war. Nord, the $500 million superyacht linked to sanctioned Russian billionaire Alexei Mordashov, successfully transited the blockaded Strait of Hormuz this week after maintenance in Dubai. Neither Iran nor the United States objected. The vessel sailed under a Russian flag, used an approved maritime route, and was allowed safe passage by both the Iranians and the United States. Its final destination is the Seychelles.
Mordashov is not just a typical Russian billionaire. He is instrumental in the ecosystem that has put American lives at risk — which is why his protection by the Trump administration is so telling…

In other words, like most teenage girls I was angry at my parents for doing right by me despite what I wanted, and fantasized about getting out from under their thumbs before I was old enough to make better choices.
Arielle:
This alien girl’s take on your relationship is that the guy you claim is a feminist has no substance. He gaslights you into believing YOUR desires for emotional connection are unreasonable. He doesn’t take you seriously as a partner, as a feminist guy ought to. He holds you to HIS own standards, and belittles you when you deviate from them.
He treats you like an object, a multi-billionaire one. You are worth at least $10 Billion dollars, he is a good looking famous lawyer. You are expected to be there for him in whatever capacity he desires, sexual or otherwise without being able to express needs of your own.
Look in the mirror girl. You are young and beautiful. Guys would be trying to woo you if you were broke as shit. He’s 10 years older than you. He wants all the fun of dating a very wealthy beautiful woman without any of the responsibilities of being in an intimate relationship with another person with her own thoughts and needs.
You say you need to feel loved and secure, but that asshole refuses to express the love you desperately want. He refuses to commit to you in any meaningful way, publicly or privately. He gaslights you into believing that you are unreasonable for wanting him to express his love and treat the relationship seriously rather than casually. You have to stop continuing to grasp at a relationship that your logic tells you is never going to be what you want it to be.
You have seen me do things that no human can do and you think that is why I have a great relationship with men. I don’t! I am so happy in my relationship with my human male because when he cheats on me, I intend to eat his ass. Remember that great meal I cooked for you and your asshole boyfriend two Easter’s ago? That was Benoit. 2 years into our relationship, he cheated on me with his secretary. When he took me to his retreat in Riquewihr, I fucked him, bathed him, tied him up and cut him into several pieces making sure he felt each cut and slice. Before he died I told him why I was going to make him into several delicious meals. I am a vegetarian, but for three months, I made an exception in his case. We had that excellent dinner 2 Easters back and you and I, and several of my other friends snacked on him for about 3 weeks. You have to admit, he was extremely enjoyable.
I realize that you can’t do that, but you can cut bait and move on. I have been on Earth for 23 years. You and 2 other women are the only ones that I have brought aboard my ship. I wouldn’t allow you to stay because you are filthy rich. You have no reason to leave this planet. I don’t need your money, and you don’t need the skills I bring as an alien to this body. You are a human female, hence with commitment, sex can be sacred. But without it human females are vulnerable to be left feeling used and hurt. Give someone else a chance to all you want him to be.
Powerful post.
If you really are an alien(I’ve never met one), you should know that our culture attacks women from both sides – on the one hand, the cultural pressure to have sex to be a good girlfriend or an empowered woman, and on the other side, the cultural taboo that treats non-virginal women as damaged goods. They both hurt women in different ways, and taken together, they leave women feeling reduced to a crumpled-up mess rather than a human being with dignity.
If I had a bit of her money, I’d toss the creep and enter better circles. Lawyers are duplicitous at best. Tell her to try another profession, or introduce her to one of your alien males. Are they any better than human ones? I put that to anyone willing to share their relationship with a male alien mate.
I’m interested in what you say. You wrote that you brought her to your mothership, yet she’s down here now? Would you like to explain to everyone how you accomplished that because from what I have read here, there is a problem with humans going up and coming back – either they can’t come back, or if they come back, its not really them, and their insides and/or brains have been replaced. Do tell.
I was not on a MotherShip. I was on a much smaller vessel. It hovers in a spot somewhere in France. It is cloaked. While I have taken some of my earth friends on field trips around the planet and into space, we have never gone farther than the planet Mars.
Human biology makes it difficult to last in space without the lose of the gravity produced on their planet causing medical problems for their frail bodies. Our technology can counter most of these problems, but not all.
All humans who spend time in space lose some eyesight, grow taller and develop other minor problems. While we can counter these problems, deep space travel can cause the water in humans to expand or evaporate. Both cause a very painful death.
Some MotherShips have solutions for this, I am told, but I don’t lie for sure as I don’t have the clearance to acquire that information.
Thank you for taking time to answer my question.
I introduced you to this blog. I never expected to be mentioned on it. I’ve never posted to it, I wanted to but I was too afraid. As for Doug, he is worth the trouble he puts me through. We are of the same political beliefs, he treats me very well, the sex is fabulous and I love his handsome good looks. I love him.
Thank you for your advice, I know that you mean well. When you advised me not to lend him the $40 million he asked for or to get a joint bank account with him, I took your advice on the former and it caused a lot of anger and resentment from him. Therefore, I didn’t take your advice on the latter. I am answering you here because you won’t take my calls. I know it is because I told Doug that you were an alien.
Please forgive me. No harm was done as he doesn’t believe in aliens. He says you just want my money. Of course I know better, I’ve seen you produce things that I can’t buy with my billion$. I miss you. You are my BFF. I tell you everything. Can I help it if I love Doug. If he asked me to marry him today I would in a second.
C’on, call me. I will never tell anyone ever again.
Everyone venturing to transport your personnel to Earth are now required to show your MotherShip’s pass on human anatomy. The recent grabbing of __’s 7 beings resulted because a cursory medical examination revealed the individual had lungs of equal size. Humans have a smaller left lung to accommodate their heart.
The individual was followed and those he contacted that had equal size lungs were apprehended. We have them back, but it was an exercise we shouldn’t have had to make.
Yes, molecular transportation is out for now, so we have to go back to less efficient methods to transport. That means the understanding we needed then to transport safely and successfully to avoid detection must be revisited.
Hence we are requiring a refresher course on the human anatomy be successfully completed by any MotherShip wishing to teleport to Earth their personnel.
In our defense, our Earth personnel don’t need lungs to breathe because we don’t inhale oxygen. Neither do we need a heart to beat. Their hearts were designed to mimic the human’s. Thus we didn’t see the need to provide a “cardiac Notch” for the left lung. We are not vulnerable the diseases humans are so we didn’t think there would be a need for one of us to visit a human physician.
We are very familiar with the bronchopulmonary segments of the human lung. We stand corrected by your analysis and will be more accurate in the future.
The deposit of recoverable Lithium in the US was approved because it was decided that the US should not be dependent on China and other countries. Lithium is the primary component of utility-scale energy storage systems, which stabilize the power grid, balance supply and demand, and support renewable energy integration. Lithium batteries also power consumer electronics, medical devices, electric vehicles, and other essential technologies.
We don’t see this as interference as it will take the US at least a decade to avail itself of this potential.
Perhaps, except for the decimation of the Congolese that is ongoing and allowing corporate interests to proceed. No one in the west seems to care that millions of people have been systematically wiped out over there so that others can grab their natural resources.
The One Thing You Must Do Before Reheating Leftover Rice
I used to leave rice on the stove for hours. Sometimes overnight. I’d scoop it into a bowl the next day, nuke it for a minute, and eat it without thinking twice. I did this for years. Nothing bad ever happened — until it did.
One night after reheating some leftover jasmine rice that had been sitting out since lunch, I spent the next six hours in my bathroom regretting every life choice I’d ever made. Nausea, cramping, the works. I blamed the chicken I’d eaten with it. Turns out, the rice was the problem.
Most Americans eat rice multiple times a week. We make big batches, toss the pot on the back burner, and deal with it later. But there’s a specific thing you need to do before you ever reheat that rice — and if you skip it, you’re rolling the dice with a type of food poisoning most people have never even heard of.
The Bacteria That Survives Your Microwave
Here’s what caught me off guard: the danger isn’t in the reheating. It’s in what happens between cooking and reheating. There’s a bacteria called Bacillus cereus that lives in uncooked rice as spores. When you cook rice, you kill most bacteria — but not these spores. They’re tough. They survive boiling water. They survive your microwave. They survive pretty much everything you throw at them.
The spores themselves aren’t the problem. The problem starts when cooked rice sits at room temperature. That warm, starchy environment is a paradise for Bacillus cereus. The spores wake up, multiply, and start producing toxins. These toxins are what make you sick — and here’s the kicker — reheating the rice doesn’t destroy the toxins. You can heat that rice until it’s smoking and the toxins are still there, waiting for you.
This is sometimes called “reheated rice syndrome,” and it’s more common than you’d think. Most people who get it assume they caught a stomach bug or ate bad meat. They never suspect the rice.
The Two-Hour Rule You Can’t Ignore
So what’s the one thing you must do before reheating rice? You need to make sure it was refrigerated within two hours of being cooked. That’s it. That’s the rule. If your rice sat out on the counter for longer than two hours, don’t reheat it. Throw it away.
The clock starts the moment the rice is done cooking. Within those two hours, you need to get it cooled down and into the fridge. Not tomorrow. Not after dinner. Not after the movie. Within two hours.
If you follow this rule, reheated rice is perfectly safe to eat for a few days after cooking. If you don’t follow this rule, no amount of microwaving will save you. The toxins are already there, invisible and odorless. The rice looks fine. It smells fine. It tastes fine. And then four to five hours later, you’re in a world of hurt.
How to Cool Rice Down Fast
Two hours sounds like plenty of time, but think about how most of us actually handle rice. You finish cooking dinner at 7. You eat at 7:15. You sit on the couch at 7:45. By the time you get around to putting food away, it’s 9:30 or 10. That’s already pushing past the safe window, especially if the rice has been sitting in a covered pot holding its heat.
The trick is to cool it down quickly so the bacteria don’t get a chance to multiply. Here’s what works:
Spread the rice out on a baking sheet or a wide, flat plate. A thick clump of rice in a container holds heat for a long time. Spread thin, it cools in minutes. Once it’s no longer hot to the touch, transfer it to an airtight container and get it in the fridge.
You can also run the pot under cold water or set it in an ice bath if you’re in a rush. Some people portion the rice into small containers right away — smaller amounts cool faster than one big batch.
The key point is speed. Don’t let it hang out in the danger zone — that 40°F to 140°F range where bacteria thrive — any longer than you have to.
Only Reheat It Once (And Get It Hot Enough)
Even if you stored your rice correctly, there’s a second rule that matters: only reheat it one time. Every time you heat and cool rice, you’re giving any remaining bacteria another opportunity to multiply. One reheat is fine. Two is asking for trouble.
When you do reheat, make sure the rice hits 165°F all the way through. That’s the magic number for killing active bacteria — not the toxins from sitting out, but any new bacterial growth that might have happened in the fridge. A cheap food thermometer takes the guesswork out of this. You can grab one at Walmart or Target for under ten bucks.
If you’re using a microwave, add a splash of water to the rice before heating. This creates steam, which helps heat it more evenly. Stir it halfway through. Those cold spots in microwaved food aren’t just annoying — they’re where bacteria survive.
What the Symptoms Look Like
Bacillus cereus food poisoning comes in two forms. The first type — the one most associated with rice — causes nausea and vomiting within one to six hours of eating. It hits fast and hard, but usually resolves within 24 hours. The second type causes diarrhea and stomach cramps, typically showing up six to fifteen hours after eating.
Most cases are mild enough that people just ride them out at home. But for young kids, elderly people, pregnant women, and anyone with a weakened immune system, it can be a lot more serious. In rare cases, it can lead to hospitalization.
The frustrating part is that most people never connect it to the rice. They blame the protein or the sauce or “something going around.” Bacillus cereus doesn’t change the way rice looks, smells, or tastes. There’s no way to tell just by looking at it whether the toxins are present. The only defense is handling it correctly from the start.
It’s Not Just White Rice
Brown rice, wild rice, basmati, sushi rice, Uncle Ben’s, rice from your Instant Pot — all of it carries the same risk. Bacillus cereus doesn’t care what variety you bought or how you cooked it. If it’s rice and it sat out too long, it’s a problem.
And it’s not limited to rice, either. Pasta, potatoes, and other starchy foods can also harbor Bacillus cereus. The same rules apply: cool it fast, refrigerate it promptly, and don’t reheat more than once. Rice just gets the most attention because it’s the most common source of this type of food poisoning.
If you’ve ever made a big pot of spaghetti and left it on the stove overnight, same deal. That’s playing the same game with the same bacteria.
What About Fried Rice?
Here’s where it gets interesting. Good fried rice is traditionally made with day-old rice. Chinese restaurants, home cooks, YouTube chefs — everyone says the same thing: freshly cooked rice is too wet and sticky for fried rice. You want it dried out in the fridge overnight.
This is totally fine — as long as that rice went into the fridge within the two-hour window after it was originally cooked. The cold overnight rest is actually ideal. It dries the grains out and slows bacterial growth at the same time. Where people get into trouble is cooking rice, leaving it on the counter overnight to “dry out,” and then frying it the next day. That’s the worst possible scenario. Room temperature rice for eight-plus hours is a bacteria factory.
Cook the rice, cool it quickly, refrigerate it, and then make your fried rice the next day. You get the texture you want without the food poisoning.
The Takeout Problem
Think about how takeout works. You order Chinese, Thai, or Indian food. It gets cooked at the restaurant, packed into containers, driven to your house, and sits on your counter while you eat. Sometimes you eat half and leave the rest out while you watch TV. By the time you put it away, that rice has been sitting in the danger zone for a while.
Treat takeout rice the same way you’d treat rice you made at home. As soon as you’re done eating, pack it up and get it in the fridge. Don’t let it sit on the coffee table for three hours. The two-hour clock started at the restaurant, so you’ve already used up some of your safe window by the time it reaches your door.
If you ordered delivery and it took an hour, you’ve got roughly an hour left before that rice needs to be refrigerated. Plan accordingly.
Stop Overthinking It, But Stop Ignoring It
I don’t want to make you paranoid about rice. Rice is cheap, filling, and delicious. Billions of people eat it every single day without getting sick. The risk isn’t in the rice itself — it’s in the lazy habits most of us have around storing leftovers.
The fix is simple. Cook your rice. Eat your rice. And within two hours, get whatever’s left into the fridge. When you reheat it, make sure it’s steaming hot — 165°F if you want to be precise. Don’t reheat it a second time. And if the rice spent a long afternoon or overnight on the counter, let it go. A dollar’s worth of rice isn’t worth a day hunched over the toilet.
I learned this the hard way. You don’t have to.
You forgot to mention the added benefit of properly cooled rice, and the reheating – increasing the starch resistance. I make a large pot of rice with the flavorings I like and immediately freeze it in portion bags. And then just pull a serving out of the freezer when I want to have rice. I very rarely eat it directly off the stove now I have learned the health benefits of reheating.
Thanks for the advice. What’s your recipe? I’d like to try it.

If the hotel was not secure, why was the president of the United States and almost his entire cabinet allowed to go there? The safest place on the planet should be wherever the president is, especially when surrounded by the vice president, the secretary of defense, the secretary of state, and the head of the FBI. Security was the responsibility of the Secret Service, not the hotel.
As in everything the traitor touches, he fucks it up. Having fired most of the competent agents in every department he is now stuck with suck-ups who are basically Keystone cops with little ability to protect themselves much less the heads of State.
The agent that was shot was hit in his cellphone which was in his bulletproof vest. He fired 5 shots at Cole Thomas Allen. Who knows where those bullets landed. They certainly didn’t hit Mr. Allen, as he had tripped over a lady’s foot and was lying on the ground. Typical Keystone cop reaction, shoot to kill and lie about the why later.
We will never know what happened from the mouths of law enforcement. They lie as they breathe. But our eyes tell us that Mr. Allen was on the ground as all those shots by the cops were being fired. LOL, those guys were pathetic. Mr. Allen thought their security was a joke. And did you see the cop at the table where Mr. Allen rushed by? The idiot was looking in the opposite direction of the entrance, duh? It reminds you of the frustration you feel when you see a person crossing a one-way street and looking in the direction the traffic is NOT coming.
BREAKING: Trump Sons Cash In on Massive $1.6 BILLION U.S. Government Deal in Kazakhstan
While Donald Trump pushes “America First,” his sons Don Jr. and Eric are quietly profiting from a major foreign mining deal backed by American taxpayer dollars.
According to a new Financial Times investigation, a shell company tied to the Trump brothers has taken a stake in a Kazakh tungsten mining company. That same firm just landed up to $1.6 billion in U.S. government financing for strategic metals used in defense and ammunition — right in the middle of the Trump administration.
The brothers reportedly bought in last August through a U.S. construction group that merged with the Kazakh entity, expanding the family business empire while their father occupies the White House.
This is the same crew that spent years obsessing over Hunter Biden. Now the President’s own sons are directly benefiting from a huge U.S.-backed foreign contract. The hypocrisy is staggering.
Where’s the GOP outrage? Where are the investigations? This is unchecked family grift and American taxpayers are footing the bill.
Exactly! Where are the Democrats? Why aren’t they screaming about this after all the fake outrage by the Republicans over Hunter Biden?
Another sad day for Americans. More stripping of civil rights:
WASHINGTON, April 30 (Reuters) – The Voting Rights Act of 1965 has often been called the crown jewel of the U.S. civil rights movement. But under a U.S. Supreme Court led for two decades by conservative Chief Justice John Roberts, experts said, that jewel has lost its luster.
In a 6-3 ruling on Wednesday powered by its conservative justices, the court gutted what scholars said was the last remaining pillar of the landmark law enacted after the “Bloody Sunday” march in Selma, Alabama with the aim of preventing racial discrimination in voting.
“The metaphor is a wrecking ball,” said Rick Hasen, an election law expert at UCLA, describing the Roberts Court’s approach to the Voting Rights Act, or VRA. “There are still parts of the VRA that are operative, but the two main pillars are now virtually dead letters.”
Those provisions include Section 2, the subject of Wednesday’s court ruling. The decision, which blocked an electoral map that had given Louisiana a second Black-majority U.S. House of Representatives district, will make it harder for minorities to challenge electoral maps as racially discriminatory under the landmark civil rights law.
The ruling was issued with congressional elections looming in November, as President Donald Trump’s fellow Republicans fight to maintain control of both the House and Senate. Trump hailed Wednesday’s ruling and said he thinks Republican-led states would now want to reconfigure their voting maps.
‘A COLOR-BLIND CONSTITUTION’
Supporters of the ruling, including John Yoo, who served as a Justice Department lawyer under Republican President George W. Bush, said it “continues the court’s campaign to ensure that the government obeys a color-blind Constitution.”
A sharp dissent authored by Justice Elena Kagan and joined by her two fellow liberals cast the ruling as the “latest chapter in the majority’s now-completed demolition of the Voting Rights Act.”
Kagan pointed to another ruling involving Section 2 in which the conservative-majority court in 2021 endorsed Republican-backed measures in Arizona that a lower court said would disproportionately burden Black, Latino and Native American voters.
Kagan also cited a 2013 ruling authored by Roberts in a case involving Alabama’s Shelby County that gutted Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act, a provision that had required states and locales with a history of racial discrimination to get federal approval to change voting laws.
Wednesday’s ruling, Kagan wrote, “is part of a set.” “For over a decade,” Kagan added, “this court has had its sights set on the Voting Rights Act.”
‘EFFECTIVELY DEAD’
The Voting Rights Act emerged in the aftermath of a pivotal 1965 voting rights march in which hundreds of Black people crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma and were met by state troopers who waded into the crowd swinging billy clubs.
Days after the incident now called “Bloody Sunday,” President Lyndon Johnson demanded that Congress approve voting rights legislation. Lawmakers passed the Voting Rights Act to broadly prohibit poll taxes, literacy tests and other racially motivated policies that had been implemented by white leaders in certain states to prevent Black voters from casting ballots.
The Voting Rights Act’s Section 5 required jurisdictions with a history of racial discrimination to get federal approval to change voting laws, and provided a formula for determining which states and locales were subject to this “preclearance” provision.
In 2013, the Supreme Court upended these legal protections in a 5-4 ruling powered by the conservative justices in favor of officials from Alabama’s Shelby County. The court held that Congress had used outdated facts in continuing to force Alabama and eight other states, mainly in the South, to get federal approval for rule changes affecting Black and other minority voters.
The ruling left open the possibility of Congress devising a replacement formula for deciding which jurisdictions should be subjected to the preclearance requirement, though that never happened.
It also left the Voting Rights Act’s Section 2 untouched – for the time being.
The law’s Section 2 was amended by Congress in 1982 to prohibit electoral maps that would result in undermining the clout of minority voters, even absent direct proof of racist intent.
For more than four decades, plaintiffs could win a Section 2 claim by showing, among other things, that a voting map had a racially discriminatory impact under this legal standard, known as the “results test.”
The court’s decision on Wednesday, however, effectively turned Section 2 into an “intent test,” experts said.
The ruling was authored by Justice Samuel Alito and joined by Roberts and the four other conservative justices. It said the focus of Section 2 must center on the Constitution’s prohibition on intentional racial discrimination under its 15th Amendment.
Ratified in 1870 following the U.S. Civil War that ended slavery, the 15th Amendment authorizes Congress to pass laws ensuring that the right to vote not be denied “on account of race, color or previous condition of servitude.”
Interpreting Section 2 to “outlaw a map solely because it fails to provide a sufficient number of majority-minority districts would create a right that the amendment does not protect,” Alito wrote.
‘IMPOSSIBLE TO SATISFY’
Harvard Law School Professor Nicholas Stephanopoulos said Wednesday’s ruling means the results test is “effectively dead.” “It’s there in theory but now impossible to satisfy in fact,” said Stephanopoulos, who filed a brief in the case defending the Voting Rights Act.
Press Robinson, an activist and one of the Louisiana residents who brought a legal challenge that led to the creation of the second Black-majority district in the state, said the Supreme Court decision would echo throughout the country at all levels of government, and that he feared that soon elected Black officials would “disappear.”
“We’ll be back where we were at the time that slavery was declared illegal in this country,” Robinson said on a call with reporters. “This country doesn’t seem to want to advance beyond that time.”

Some of you aliens seem to enjoy taking over bodies. Can’t you take over some of the bodies on the SC and steer us back to center?
Why should we interfere with the cattle? Frankly this kind of greed makes it easier for us to cull the herd.
When some of us look at you, we see cattle. Pieces of meat. What difference first does it make how your world ends? Plaque, war, famine. Contrary to what most of the aliens who visit Earth think, morality shouldn’t even enter into it. We’re just a function of natural selection by the Known Universe.
President Trump’s net worth has tripled to $6.5 billion since he won the 2024 election.
Assuming the piece of shit was actually a billionaire in the first place. But as the line goes: the racist don’t care how much he fleeces the nation for as long as he continues to make the lowest white man, feel he is better than the most accomplished non-white man.
Why You Should Ditch Aluminum Foil Right Away:
I used to tear off a sheet of aluminum foil for everything. Baking salmon? Foil. Leftover pizza? Foil. Lining a pan so I wouldn’t have to wash it? Foil, obviously. It was cheap, it was everywhere, and I never thought twice about it. Then I started reading the actual research, and honestly, I felt a little stupid for not looking into this sooner. The stuff leaches into your food, it’s terrible for the planet, and there are better options that cost about the same. Here’s what I found.
Aluminum Actually Leaches Into Your Food — That’s Not a Myth
Let’s get this out of the way: when you cook with aluminum foil, some of that metal ends up in your dinner. This isn’t a conspiracy theory. A peer-reviewed study examining 11 types of food — including Atlantic salmon, mackerel, and duck breast — confirmed that aluminum leaches from foil into food during baking. The hotter you cook, the worse it gets. At temperatures under 160°C (about 320°F), the leaching is modest. Crank it above 220°C (428°F), and the rate climbs fast. Temperature matters more than how long you cook, because the heat changes the foil’s oxide layer from an amorphous structure to a crystalline one — basically, the foil’s protective barrier breaks down.
And no, it doesn’t matter which side of the foil faces your food. Shiny side, dull side — the researchers tested this specifically. No difference. That old kitchen tip your aunt swore by? Doesn’t hold up.
Acidic Foods Make the Problem Way Worse
Here’s where it gets interesting. If you’re wrapping something acidic — think tomatoes, citrus, anything with vinegar — the aluminum dissolves into your food at a much higher rate. The same study found that marinated food samples showed statistically significant increases in aluminum content compared to unmarinated ones. Aluminum dissolution depends heavily on pH and temperature, so that lemon-herb chicken you’ve been baking in a foil packet? It’s basically giving the aluminum a chemistry invitation to migrate straight into your meal.
Italian researchers ran their own tests under real cooking conditions and confirmed the same thing: aluminum release happens even in unseasoned food, but acids and marinades speed it up. The concentrations they found lined up with what other labs had published. This isn’t one rogue study — it’s a pattern across the literature.
Your Body Can Handle Some Aluminum, But “Some” Has Limits
If you’re a healthy adult with functioning kidneys, your body does a decent job of flushing out small amounts of aluminum. The CDC says most aluminum from food and water leaves your body pretty quickly. The WHO and FDA agree that intake below 2 mg per kilogram of body weight per week is unlikely to cause problems. The European Food Safety Authority is stricter — they set the bar at 1 mg per kilogram per week.
But here’s the thing: aluminum doesn’t just come from your foil. It’s in your drinking water, your cosmetics, your deodorant, certain medications, and even the air. According to certified food scientist Jessica Gavin, only about 4% of our total aluminum intake comes from things like foil and utensils. The rest is everywhere else. So your body is already processing aluminum from a dozen different sources every single day. Adding more from your cooking method is stacking the deck against yourself.
A 2023 Study Showed It Actually Increases Your Aluminum Load
In 2023, researchers published a study that put real humans on a controlled diet to see what happens. Eleven participants ate the same 10-day meal sequence three times. During the middle 10 days, all their food was prepared using aluminum food-contact materials. The first and last 10 days? No aluminum contact. They measured urinary aluminum excretion throughout.
During the aluminum-exposure phase, the median creatinine-adjusted aluminum excretion was 1.98 µg/g, compared to 1.78 µg/g in both control phases. That’s about an 8% bump over baseline, and two separate regression models confirmed it was statistically significant (p = 0.0017). The good news? It was fully reversible — levels went back to normal after the exposure stopped. The bad news? If you cook with foil every single day, you never get to that “after” period. You’re just staying elevated.
The Alzheimer’s Connection Is Still Debated — But It’s Not Nothing
This is the big one that keeps coming up, and I want to be honest about where the science stands. Aluminum is the most abundant neurotoxic metal on the planet, and it has been repeatedly shown to accumulate in brain regions that are vulnerable to Alzheimer’s disease. In lab animals, aluminum causes the buildup of tau protein and amyloid beta protein — two hallmarks of Alzheimer’s. It also induces neuronal death both in living organisms and in cell cultures.
Critics argue that the aluminum found in Alzheimer’s patients’ brains might be a consequence of the disease rather than a cause. That’s a fair point. But the counterargument is also fair: we know aluminum is neurotoxic, we know it accumulates in the brain, and we know it causes the exact types of protein damage associated with Alzheimer’s. The connection hasn’t been proven beyond all doubt, but it hasn’t been disproven either. Given that there’s an easy fix — just don’t cook with the stuff — why gamble?
Kids and People With Kidney Problems Are at Real Risk
Even if you’re comfortable with the aluminum-Alzheimer’s uncertainty, there are two groups who should absolutely be paying attention. The first is children, especially younger kids. Their body weight is low, so it takes far less aluminum to approach that weekly intake limit. The second group is anyone with kidney disease. Healthy kidneys flush aluminum out. Compromised kidneys don’t — they store it. And stored aluminum has been linked to anemia, dementia, and osteomalacia (a bone-softening condition).
If you’re cooking for a household that includes kids or someone with kidney issues, switching away from aluminum foil isn’t paranoia. It’s just common sense risk reduction.
The Environmental Cost Is Staggering
Here’s where it stops being just about health. Producing aluminum from raw bauxite ore requires about 170 million BTUs per ton of material — that’s the energy equivalent of burning 1,400 gallons of gasoline. The process releases roughly 12 tons of greenhouse gases per ton of aluminum produced. That’s an absurd environmental price tag for something you use once and throw away.
And about that recycling thing: according to the EPA, only about 35% of aluminum containers and packaging were recycled in 2018. Foil is even harder to recycle than cans because of food contamination. That leftover grease from your roasted vegetables? It can ruin an entire recycling load. Most recycling facilities require that aluminum foil be completely clean and balled up to at least the size of a tennis ball before they’ll even accept it. Raise your hand if you’ve ever actually done that. Yeah, me neither.
Recycling aluminum uses 95% less energy than making it new, which is great in theory. In practice, most household foil goes straight to the landfill.
What to Use Instead
Switching is easier than you think, and most of the alternatives you probably already own.
Parchment paper handles almost everything foil does in the oven. Line your baking sheets with it, wrap fish or chicken in parchment packets — it works great up to about 425°F and nothing leaches into your food. A roll costs about $4 at any grocery store.
Stainless steel baking sheets are a one-time purchase that replaces foil forever. The TeamFar Baking Sheet Set of 2 runs about $15 on Amazon. They’re dishwasher-safe with a mirror finish that reduces sticking, and they’ll outlast you.
Glass baking dishes like the Pyrex Deep 9×13 are perfect for casseroles and roasted meats. They come with BPA-free lids so you can store leftovers right in the same dish. No foil needed.
Cedar wraps are an underrated option for grilling. WESTERN Premium BBQ Grilling Wraps are paper-thin pieces of wood you wrap around chicken, fish, or vegetables. They add a subtle smoky flavor that foil never could.
For storage, beeswax wraps, silicone food bags, and glass jars cover everything from sandwiches to soups. You can even reuse glass jars from store-bought pasta sauce or pickles — zero additional cost.
The FDA Says It’s “Safe,” But Read the Fine Print
The FDA says aluminum foil is safe for use at temperatures up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The agency regulates food-contact materials including aluminum, glass, and paper. European regulators have set a specific release limit of 5 mg of aluminum per kilogram of food. So there are guardrails in place.
But “safe” in regulatory terms means “not immediately dangerous at typical exposure levels.” It doesn’t mean “the best possible choice.” Lead paint was considered safe for decades. Trans fats were fine until they weren’t. I’m not saying aluminum foil is the next trans fat — I’m saying that when cheaper, reusable, non-leaching alternatives exist, “technically within safety limits” is a weird hill to die on.
The aluminum in your food from foil probably won’t hurt you today. Or tomorrow. But every exposure adds to a running total, and that total includes your water, your deodorant, your medications, and a hundred other sources. If you can easily remove one of those sources — and you can — why wouldn’t you?
That was informative. I mostly use parchment paper in the oven, or air fry, and I use to saran wrap and tin foil to wrap food for the fridge and/or freezer. About a year ago, I started buying glass canning jars and a jar vacuum sealer to keep food longer. It works beautifully on cheeses, dressings, fruits and veggies. Or when you buy a too large package of something like oatmeal, and nuts, that you need to open but don’t want the amount you aren’t using to go stale before you can use it again. It really is like easily doubling the life span of the product with the oxygen reduction. I was more focused on reducing plastic but I’m now adding aluminum to that list.
Thank you
Much of Melanija’s — or Melania’s, as she soon renamed herself — story is self-manufactured. In 2016, when Trump was first running for president, The New Yorker (typically no slouch in the investigative journalism department) wrote a story about her that actually claimed Melania was “a model with the past of a nun” and quoted Slovenian gossip columnists as saying that she seemed to be a virgin when she met Trump.
In fact, Melania was hardly a nun. Her Slovenian biographer claims that she had a sexual relationship with Peter Butoln, who went on to be an advisor to several Slovenian prime ministers and Jure Zorčič, the son of a former director of a Yugoslavian basketball team. Siniša Glumičić, a Croatian plastic surgeon who says that he operated on Melania and whom the biography describes as “THE Croatian plastic surgeon, performing operations for the Balkan jet setting elite,” also boasted about having an “intimate” relationship with her. She also allegedly dated Alen Kobilica, the only Slovenian male “supermodel,” and Gregor Erbežnik, a mall owner who was seeing her at the same time as he was dating the woman who would become his wife.
In other ways, Slovenian journalists have consistently connected the dots about Melania’s life in ways American media is incapable of doing. Here is Slovenske Novice in 2016:
“I am Melania Knauss, I come from Slovenia.”
With those words, in broken English, the future Mrs. Trump appeared in the spring of 1993 at the door of a modeling agency at Naglergasse 25/3 in central Vienna. There sat Wolfgang Schwarz, the representative of the American agency Elite for all of Europe and the eastern countries as far as Asia, and at the same time the owner of the modeling agency Girls & Boys Agency Vienna.
There is more to be mined here. Melania’s story does not add up — and it never did. She has benefitted from a credulous American press corps that has taken her word, the word of her husband, and the word of her friend (and former Jeffrey Epstein associate) Paolo Zampoli to create a back story that is very much in dispute. …

WASHINGTON, May 4 (Reuters) – A U.S. judge on Monday apologized to the man accused of attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump for the “legally deficient” treatment he has faced in a Washington, D.C., jail, which included being placed on suicide watch, separated from other inmates and denied a Bible.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui said he was disturbed by the conditions for Cole Allen, who allegedly fired a shotgun during a foiled attack on Trump and senior officials in his administration at an April 25 press gala. The judge said the conditions were inappropriate for a person with no criminal history.
