I saw some cloaking and uncloaking going on over the bay during the Blue Angels show in San Francisco yesterday. Good to see you. Tell Tzarme I say hello.

The typhoon you are sending to Guam maybe a violation of {130’s} safety. Should any harm result. Death will be the answer.

    • H[7 says:

We have corrected that. The Typhoon will pass Guam.

Guam should prepare for a major typhoon strike by Sunday morning, with Category 2 conditions expected across much of the island and Category 3 winds possible islandwide if Typhoon Champi passes directly overhead, according to Landon Aydlett, U.S. National Weather Service warning coordination meteorologist.

Damaging winds could begin late Saturday night.

It was possible but not expected that the storm could strengthen to Category 4 before it arrives, Aydlett said during a weather briefing just before noon Saturday.

Champi had sustained winds of 100 miles per hour as of 1 p.m. Saturday. It was 225 miles east-south east of Guam, headed toward the island at a speed of 18 mph.

Forecasts called for sustained winds of 125 mph per hour during the storm’s closest approach, expected between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Sunday. Tropical storm-force winds above 39 mph could begin as early as 9 p.m. Saturday, most likely around midnight, then intensify overnight.

Forecasters urged residents to finish preparations and shelter from sunset Saturday through sunrise Monday.

“This is going to be a significant strike to the island of Guam Sunday morning,” Aydlett said.

        Passing southern Guam
The storm’s track remained close to Guam Saturday, with a direct passage still possible. If Champi tracks south, southern villages could take the worst of the winds and rain, while central and northern Guam could see Category 1 or Category 2 conditions.

“Just south of southern Guam, they will see in those southern villages Category Three typhoon force winds that will exceed their impacts from Typhoon Mawar back in 2023,” Aydlett said.

A reasonable best case scenario, he said, would be Category 1 conditions in the north and Category 2 in the south. A direct pass over the island could bring Category 3 conditions across Guam.

Aydlett said even a track south of Guam would not spare the island: The typhoon-force wind field could extend as far as 35 miles north of the storm’s center.

A shift of 10 miles could also make a significant difference for individual villages.

        Strengthening storm
The storm had strengthened over the previous 24 hours, Aydlett said, with forecast winds near closest approach having risen from 110 mph the previous day to 125 mph.

He warned that explosive rapid intensification over the next 12 to 18 hours could produce a stronger storm than forecast.

A later forecast graphic showed winds of 120 mph as Champi approached Guam and 140 mph as it departed.

Aydlett cautioned that the strongest conditions could occur before or after the closest approach and typhoon-force wind probabilities for Guam were about 60% to 80% and could rise.

        Rain, flooding
Aydlett said Guam could receive 12 to 20 inches of rain, with 16 to 20 inches possible beneath the eyewall on a track near southern Guam.

He also described an estimate of 12 to 18 inches for the event. The heaviest rain would follow the eyewall. A direct passage could bring the higher totals across more of the island, while a farther south track could keep the eyewall offshore and reduce rainfall.

The island was under a flash flood watch. Aydlett said showers and wind gusts would increase through the afternoon, with gusts of 30 to 35 mph already accompanying rain bands. The most intense rain was expected overnight as the storm neared.

        Dangerous waters
Dangerous surf and coastal inundation also threatened Guam’s windward coasts, particularly southern and eastern areas.

Aydlett said water could rise 5 to 7 feet above normal levels, with waves pushing water, rocks and gravel onto normally dry land. A special marine warning was in effect for a Doppler indicated waterspout southeast of Guam. He said coastal conditions would peak Sunday and improve late Sunday night into Monday.

“Deadly conditions out there,” Aydlett said of the seas and surf.

He urged residents to stay away from the water, reefs and coast through Sunday. People in low lying coastal areas only a few feet above the water should move to higher ground.

        Stay inside, beware eye
Residents without reinforced concrete homes, including a reinforced concrete roof, should go to a secure shelter before sunset.

Tents, canopies, tarps and wooden shelters would not protect people from typhoon force winds. He said residents should stay inside after power and communications fail, and warned that a sudden calm during an eye passage would not mean the storm had ended: The other side of the eyewall could arrive soon afterward.

Aydlett said the strongest typhoon conditions could last roughly from 4 a.m. to noon Sunday, while peak tropical storm force conditions could span midnight Saturday to midnight Sunday.

Tropical storm force winds were expected to pull away around 10 p.m. Sunday. He advised residents to avoid focusing on a single closest approach time because conditions would vary by location and could persist before and after the storm’s center passed.

        Quick passage
The storm was expected to move through the region quickly rather than linger for two or three days, but Aydlett said that would not lessen the impact. He said southern Guam had tropical storm to Category 1 conditions during Typhoon Mawar in 2023, and Champi could bring those villages Category 3 conditions.

He said the impacts on Guam could exceed those from previous storms, including Typhoon Mawar, Typhoon Bavi and Tropical Storm Choi Wan.

A typhoon warning remained in effect for Guam and Rota as of Saturday afternoon.

Aydlett said typhoon conditions were not expected for Tinian and Saipan, though they remained possible for Rota. He also said Champe would follow tropical cyclones that had directly affected every populated island in the Mariana Islands this year.

It is now known that the Ear will be visiting Russia in a most violent way. He has been telling the leaders of Europe that China has convinced Putin that they is his new bestie. Their plan is to use Russia as their pit bull like the US uses the Jews as theirs.

It is suspected that the Ear will be visiting the Middle East after his trip to Russia. He is expected to get Musk to allow Ukraine to use Starlink to continue to target Russia’s data centers.

Deaths will be piling up during this trip.

    • Jing says:

Yeah, and that plan includes China giving Russia access to their Bureau 1440’s Rassvet. It has launched 35 satellites with a plan to blur the space with about 160 satellites to give China the ability to cover every spot and everyone on the planet earth.

Zelenskyy will need the Ear more than ever now. But I hear that the Ear is more concerned about Trump’s plan to steal the election from the democrats. So he will be in the US directing counter measures.

    • Noah says:

Of course deaths will be piling up. The old MF is a serial killer who uses war as an excuse to murder as many people he can. I remember when he used to delight in “fixing bayonets” so he could jump into enemy foxholes and gut them when they tried to expel him. He used to emerge from those foxholes covered from head to toe in blood. Sometimes his fatiques would be soaking in blood and he would be smiling and saying “nothing to worry about, the blood ain’t mine.”That was more than two decades ago.

      • Muyang says:

The Ear is just too old for hand-to-hand combat in foxholes or on open terrain field areas. I suspect he will do his killing from long distance. By the way, don’t leave out his connection with the Saudis.

After all, the Houthis provide new opportunities for the Ear to kill people.I’m hoping his desire for murder will make him slip up, and some lucky man will kill him.

Lawrence O’Donnell Thinks Trump Just Made ‘Stupidest Statement A Wartime President Could Ever Make’

Trump this week claimed that his war on Iran “will end very soon.”
“It’s going to end very soon, as soon as I want it to end, it will end,” said the president.
O’Donnell tore into the comment and what he thought it implied:
“No wartime president of the United States has ever said, ‘As soon as I want the war to end, it will end.’ And so what Donald Trump told American voters last night is, ‘I don’t want the war to end. I don’t want the war to end today. I don’t want the war to end tomorrow. I don’t want the war to end next week.’ Donald Trump is saying, ‘It’s my war, and it will end whenever I want it to end. And because I’m not out there fighting it myself, I do not want it to end.’”
The host added, “It is the stupidest statement a wartime president could ever make, especially to voters who are overwhelmingly opposed to Donald Trump’s war.”
