a change to the blog

Hey ya’all.  Let’s talk blog biz for a quick sec.

After discussion this morning, it was decided that it might be a good idea to close comments to older posts – because of the fact that they may be overlooked by others, unless someone took the time to look at the section called, RECENT COMMENTS (which varies in location, depending on what platform you are using to view the blog).  Recent Comments looks like this:

When you access the blog, the most current post is always the first post.  That is where everyone is directed to.   If you would like to discuss a prior posting, make the comment on the current post page, and say something along the lines of “I’m commenting on the post called “April Fool’s Day, that was published on 2/26/19” or “re: April Fool’s Day post…..” (or whatever the name of the prior post you want to discuss).  When someone reads your comment, they can either go to RECENT POSTS, or enter key words of the title of the post in the new search box. Recent Posts looks like this:

And the search box looks like this:

The recent posts section only lists a few of the posts, but the search box will access the entire blog.

Depending on how you are accessing the blog, you may find the search box located in a variety of locations. On my desktop, it appears in the upper right of the posting:

However, on my Iphone, it appears below the daily post:

I’d suggest you look around the screen to see where it is available for you on your display. And finally, the search will work with words used in posts and post headings. It does not seem to work with using a date, or tags, as the search criteria. Since I’m not a coder, I’ll have to do some research to find out how to enable that ability.

As always, let me know if you have any questions about this, or are experiencing any problems with this new design.

Thank you for reading today's post. Have an InterStellar Day! ~PrP

As to Barry and Lucy’s comments on the American Gods post, (http://www.orderlyrandomness.com/blog/2019/03/26/are-you-watching-american-gods/#comment-166)

The white men’s war…. but remember the story is being written by a black man. He controls the narrative.

How does that change the dynamics? I was not suggesting that the author was bias, just that the story was about the angst of white gods with a supporting cast of non white gods.
Did you miss that the first casualty was a woman god?

    • Lochi says:

I can’t wait to see what he does with it.

    • Bill says:

The truth is not something the average white american is familiar with or really wants if it doesn’t promote the narrative that his race is superior to the others.

      • Chris says:

500 years of genocidal wars show how truly inept white men with guns and no brains can be.
All that fire power and they were forced to make Treaties with Natives armed with bows and arrows.

Extermination was their goal, but they had to settle for putting those Tribes they couldn’t exterminate into Concentration camps [reservations]. What a Wonderful breed this white race is.

I’m having trouble saving the icon to my home page.

Now that you have agreed on the plan. Let’s just do it.

PrP it is obvious that a non white writer has her/his hands on the script when you marvel at the dialogue emerging from the mouths of the actors.
It reminds me of the time when blacks enriched American English with “ebonics.” It was too deep for the white tiny brain. So they derided it at every opportunity. Today they copy and claim it as their own at every opportunity.
Yes, a peculiar racist breed indeed.

    • Emma says:

Be careful about labeling an entire race with such a broad brush less you be labeled as a racist.
