Feels that way, doesn’t it? Everyday, something horrifyingly new arises.
This one really gets me.
Trump expands Gulf of America oil and natural gas production. Florida has been mostly successful keeping oil rigs out of the line of sight of the west coast. It would be HORRIFIC if they ruined the western view of the Gulf. Honeymoon Island is beyond beautiful in its rare natural state; my soul would be crushed. Here’s hoping it doesn’t happen. (I have to laugh! Dad’s voice popped up as I am finishing up writing this: “hope in one hand, shit in the other.” God, I miss him. He was full of little bon mots!)
In Biden’s last days, he signed legislation enacting a significant offshore drilling ban that was supposed to permanently prohibit new oil and gas development across 625 million acres of US coastal waters. This expansive ban was to encompass areas along the entire East Coast, the eastern Gulf of Mexico, and portions of the Pacific off Washington, Oregon, and California, as well as parts of the Northern Bering Sea in Alaska. It was supposedly “permanently locked in.” Sure.

Imagine this picture from 2020, and what it will look like in 2030 if tRump has his way.
