      Bayer invented Heroin.
Morphine comes from opium, while heroin comes from morphine. In 1874, British chemists added glacial acetic acid to morphine and synthesized a white crystalline powder, the scientific name of this white crystalline powder was diacetylmorphine.
In 1897, a pharmacist named Felix Hoffmann from Bayer in Germany synthesized diacetylmorphine again, and the company was delighted with its superb cough and pain-relieving effects. It was proudly launched by Bayer and was given the superb name “heroin”, which means “hero”.

Heroin was initially used only as the safest and most effective cough medicine, but its application was soon expanded to include pain, depression, bronchitis, asthma and other diseases, and even psychiatric areas, making it an absolute miracle drug. From patients to healthy people, from infants to adults and the elderly, all became heroin consumers. One of the uses of heroin is to treat morphine addiction. Heroin was sold to more than 20 countries, earning Bayer huge profits.

The addiction of heroin was not taken seriously, and in reality there was no large-scale addiction among heroin users. This was mainly because heroin was taken orally, which took a longer time to reach the brain, and the dosage was much lower than that of later addicts.
When heroin became widespread around the world, methods of snorting and injecting emerged that could cause severe heroin addiction. In this way, Bayer released a demon into the world, leading to a catastrophe and countless human tragedies that continue to this day.

Thousands of fish are dying and washing ashore around Oakland’s Lake Merritt and other parts of the San Francisco Bay.

What’s happening: Environmental groups believe that the algae bloom — first spotted near Alameda in late July — is to blame. The Bay’s water has since turned brownish-red in color.

SF Baykeeper says that decomposition of the algae can “deplete oxygen in shallow areas, which can result in injury to or death of fish or other wildlife.”
By the numbers: Across the Bay, hundreds of thousands of fish could be dying, with tens of thousands already dead in Lake Merritt, Jon Rosenfield, a senior scientist at SF Baykeeper, estimated.

He told KQED “it’s really an uncountable number,” since so many never make it to shore.
Be smart: The algae type — Heterosigma akashiwo — isn’t known to be severely toxic to humans, but can cause skin irritation and respiratory problems, the Baykeeper’s Rosenfield said.

The group has cautioned people (and their pets) from “recreating” in the Bay or eating fish, especially shellfish, caught in the area “until the algal bloom dissipates.”
It’s the first major bloom since 2004, according to the Chronicle, and scientists are trying to determine the cause.

    -Omicron booster shots incoming-

The first updated coronavirus vaccines — and likely the last to be purchased by Uncle Sam — are about to be widely available across the U.S., and will ideally provide more targeted protection against the dominant strain that’s currently circulating, Axios’ Caitlin Owens reports.

Why it matters: maybe for WIM: The original vaccines offer protection against severe infection, hospitalization and death, per the CDC, but studies show the omicron variant can evade antibodies from previous infections and vaccinations.

The virus continues to kill a 400 Americans a day. Staying up to date on vaccines could minimize these deaths.
Between the lines: Less than half of fully vaccinated Americans have received a first booster dose, per the CDC.

What’s happening: The updated vaccines will go through the regulatory approval process this week, and are expected to be available roughly one week after Labor Day, per a senior Biden administration official.

The U.S. government is expected to authorize the shots for everyone ages 12 and up, although only Pfizer’s shot will be available for children under 18.
Zoom in: In San Francisco, 79.1% of residents are fully vaccinated with at least one booster dose, per the California Department of Public Health.

COVID-19 cases are trending downward in San Francisco, with a seven-day rolling average of 156 new cases per day as of Aug. 21, compared to a pandemic high of 2,386 cases in January.
What we’re watching: Peter Marks, the top FDA vaccine official, told the New York Times that the FDA may recommend that people who recently received a vaccine dose wait “a few months” before getting a new shot, and the CDC could address whether recently infected people should also wait.

    • Suzy says:

Macular degeneration is a painless eye disorder that results from the deterioration of the central part of the back surface of the eye, called the macula. The risk of developing macular degeneration increases significantly with age, which is why it is also commonly known as Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD or ARMD).

There is no definitive cure for age-related macular degeneration, but several treatment options exist to manage the condition and slow its progression. The type of treatment doctors employ depends on the form of macular degeneration you have.

There are three types of macular degeneration:

Stargardt disease, a rare form of this condition that predominantly affects children and teenagers
      Dry age-related macular degeneration (atrophic)
      Wet age-related macular degeneration (exudative)
      Treatment Options for Stargardt Disease

Eye specialists do not have any sure-fire medical treatment options for Stargardt disease. Their recommendations are to protect your eyes from sunlight by wearing sunglasses and hats when you leave home and to monitor your intake of vitamin A.

They suggest not consuming more than the daily recommended amount of vitamin A.

Eye professional also suggest not smoking and avoiding second-hand smoke as ways to stave off the effects of Stargard disease.

Treatment Options for Dry Age-Related Macular Degeneration

There is currently no definitive treatment for dry macular degeneration, although many clinical trials are in progress. Dry AMD is slowly progressive, so patients with this condition can live relatively normal and productive lives before the condition reaches advanced stages where nothing can be done to prevent further loss of vision.

Patients can slow this progress by making lifestyle changes and taking a combination of vitamins and nutritional supplements, particularly AREDS and AREDS2 formulas (like Preservision AREDS2), which are formulas based on the National Eye Institute-funded Age-Related Eye Diseases Studies – hence the acronyms.

The AREDS formula has vitamins C and E, Zinc Copper, and beta-carotene and has been shown to reduce the risk of vision loss for some patients with intermediate to advanced dry AMD. The updated AREDS2 formula, safer for smokers, removed beta-carotene and added zeaxanthin, lutein, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Because dry AMD does not cause total blindness, doctors use vision rehabilitation and low vision devices such as a telescopic lens implant to develop new ways to perform daily living activities, build visual skills and adjust to living with AMD.

The National Health Services offers insightful thoughts about living with AMD.

Treatment Options for Wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration

There are various treatment options available that may help slow the progression of wet AMD, preserve existing vision and, if started early enough, recover some lost vision.

Medications for Wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration

      This is the first and primary treatment option for wet AMD. It involves the injection of medications called anti-VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) agents, which help stop the growth of abnormal blood vessels by blocking the effects of growth signals sent by the body to generate new blood vessels. These medications are able to effectively stabilize vision in many patients and even improve the level of visual acuity in some patients. They include;

      Bevacizumab (Avastin)
      Ranibizumab (Lucentis)
      Aflibercept (Eylea)
      Brolucizumab (Beovu)
Anti-VEGF medications are administered by injecting them directly into the affected eye with a very fine needle under the cover of anesthetic eye drops so patients can be comfortable. This treatment is administered regularly over several months under the guidance of your doctor.

Although there are risks associated with this treatment, if effective, it restores vision and prevents blindness in up to 90 percent of those who receive it.

Therapies and Surgical Procedures for Wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration

Eye surgeons have three therapies or procedures they use to treat wet AMD. They are:

      Photodynamic laser therapy
      Laser photocoagulation
      Low vision rehabilitation
      Photodynamic Laser Therapy

The doctor injects a light-sensitive drug, verteporfin (Visudyne), into the patient’s bloodstream, where it is absorbed by the abnormal blood vessels. The doctor then shines a laser into your eye that triggers the medication to damage the abnormal blood vessels.

      Laser Photocoagulation

This is an older procedure in which a laser is used to seal off abnormal blood vessels to give them a chance to regrow. As with laser photocoagulation, the treatment may also destroy healthy surrounding tissue. For this reason, only people with new vessels away from the exact center of vision (fovea) can receive this treatment.

      Low Vision Rehabilitation

Because wet AMD does not affect your peripheral (side) vision, it does not cause total blindness. For this reason, many people can significantly benefit from having the help of a healthcare professional to guide them find ways to adapt to their vision using special eyewear and other assistive devices. A low vision rehabilitation therapist, eye doctor, occupational therapist, or other healthcare professional with specific training in this area can be of great assistance.

Lifestyle Changes and Home Remedies that Help with Macular Degeneration

Steps you can take to slow vision loss if you have macular degeneration include:

Quitting smoking. And if you smoke, seek help to quit. Smokers are more likely to develop advanced macular degeneration.
Adopting a healthy diet rich in antioxidant vitamins such as spinach, kale, squash, and broccoli. Food with high levels of zinc, including high protein foods like beef, lamb, and pork, as well as non-meat sources like yogurt, milk, cheese, whole wheat bread, and whole-grain cereals, are also beneficial to people with macular degeneration.
Managing your health, particularly pre-existing conditions.
      Maintaining a healthy weight
      Exercising regularly
Have routine eye checkups with your doctor and self-assessments in-between visits with an Amsler grid.
Side Effects of Macular Degeneration Treatment

Treatment options of wet AMD come with risks of complications. Among them:

      Retinal detachment
      Eye infection
      Structural eye damage
      Severe vision loss
      Faster onset of cataracts
What Is the Outlook for People with Macular Degeneration?

Although macular degeneration typically lowers your visual acuity and affects your day-to-day life, people rarely lose all their vision. With dry AMD, vision loss happens gradually and can take a long time to occur so you can keep most of your vision.

During this time, most people will still be able to do many normal daily activities. Wet AMD is a leading cause of permanent vision loss and if it affects both eyes, it eventually can significantly lower your quality of life and you might be considered legally blind.

Clinical Trials and New Treatments for Macular Degeneration

Research into new treatments for AMD is ongoing. Several potentially effective new treatment options are on the horizon for dry AMD and include:

Metformin. A drug typically prescribed to patients with diabetes found to lower the risk of development of AMD due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
Oracea. An oral antibiotic with anti-inflammatory properties.
Stem Cell Therapies. One National Eye Institute research team has also developed a way to treat dry AMD in animals using stem cells. This research has now proceeded to testing the efficacy and safety of this treatment on human beings. If successful, this treatment could offer an effective treatment for dry AMD.
Injections for Dry AMD. such as Apl -2, which helps slow the progress of dry AMD.
Among the promising new treatments and trials for wet AMD are:

Retinal Gene Therapy. This treatment aims to employ the body make its own anti-VEGF by inserting a harmless virus (adeno-associated virus/AAV) carrying the anti-VEGF gene into a patient’s DNA. Although this treatment requires a surgical procedure, it is a promising alternative to monthly eye injections as it only requires one injection.
Post Delivery System. A refillable drug reservoir that offers a new of delivering drugs to the eye and only requires a fill up once or twice annually rather than getting injections every 6 to 8 weeks.
      Anti-VEGF Eye Drops
      Anti-VEGF Oral Tablets
Longer Lasting anti-VEGF medications including Sunitinab and Abicipar
Combination Drug Treatments such as Cosopt (used to treat glaucoma) with anti-VEGF injections which together can lower retinal fluid better.
Radiation Therapy similar to thatused to treat cancer, is thought to help slow the growth of abnormal blood vessels in wet AMD.
Frequently Asked Questions on Macular Degeneration

What is the best treatment for macular degeneration?

How Quickly Can You Get Infected With Omicron After An Exposure?

The amount of time it takes to start experiencing COVID symptoms if you’re infected is shrinking.
Early in the pandemic, an exposure to COVID meant waiting anxiously for many days to see if you were infected. Now, the window is getting smaller and smaller, according to a new review published in the journal JAMA Network Open.
Researchers analyzed 141 studies to determine how COVID’s incubation period ― the time from when you get infected to when you start showing symptoms ― has changed since March 2020. The study, which was conducted by scientists in Beijing, found that with every new variant, COVID’s incubation time has decreased significantly. Omicron, which is the current dominant variant in the United States, has the shortest time between infection and symptoms.
“The incubation periods of COVID-19 caused by the Alpha, Beta, Delta and Omicron variants were 5.00, 4.50, 4.41, and 3.42 days, respectively,” the study stated.
It’s worth noting that the studies analyzed in the review largely relied on people recalling their date of infection and the date symptoms started from memory, so there is room for error if any study participants misremembered.
A shorter incubation period means COVID can spread more easily.

According to David Souleles, the campus public health response team director at the University of California, Irvine, when you become symptomatic faster, you have more of the virus circulating in your system. This makes you more likely to spread the sickness to someone else.
“Symptoms, so coughing and sneezing, accelerate the ability of the virus to move from person to person,” he said.
Plus, since there is no longer a 7-to-10-day window between infection and symptoms, the virus is building up faster and doesn’t have to hang out in a person for a period of days before infecting someone else, Souleles explained. In earlier variants, there was a longer gap of time when the virus was building up in the system but not able to transmit to another person, he said. Now, that isn’t the case.
So, say for example you had dinner with a friend on Saturday who informs you on Sunday that they just tested positive for COVID and you may have been exposed at dinner. If you were infected, chances are your symptoms will appear pretty fast, like by Tuesday or Wednesday.
There’s also a chance you may have spread the virus to other people within that short timeframe as well, which was less likely than in other incubation windows for variants like alpha and beta. For those earlier variants, the virus required more time to build up before being transmissible.
The shortened incubation period is a sign of COVID becoming more contagious.
The shorter incubation period achieves the virus’s goal: to infect more people.

The study stated that “since the beginning of the COVID-19 [pandemic], [COVID] has evolved and mutated continuously, producing variants with different transmissibility.”
This is because the virus develops changes to its structure that make it more invasive so “it can do what viruses want to do — continue to infect people,” said Dr. Gregory Poland, a professor of medicine and infectious diseases at the Mayo Clinic. The shorter incubation period is one of the ways the virus has mutated to become more contagious, Poland explained.
COVID is now hyper-contagious and has “developed the capacity to infect the upper airway more than the lower airway,” which makes it that much more transmissible, too. If a virus is in your upper airway (your nose and your throat) it’ll have an easier time spreading through the respiratory route when compared to a virus that is in your lower airway (like the lungs).
Just how much more contagious are these current strains? Poland explained that “if [omicron] had shown up and not the original strain [in 2020], we wouldn’t be talking about 1 out of 308 Americans being dead, we would probably be talking about 1 out of 200.”
As time goes on and COVID continues to infect people, the virus mutates to become more contagious, resulting in new strains of the virus.
To protect yourself, get the updated COVID shot in the fall.

This all may feel pretty grim, and rightfully so. But, there are ways you can keep yourself and your loved ones safe.
“The one thing people can continue to do is make sure they are up to date with their vaccinations,” Souleles said.
He added that it seems many people will have that opportunity to get a booster dose in the fall that will better target BA.4 and BA.5. Both Pfizer and Moderna will have updated COVID vaccines that provide stronger protection against omicron than the current iteration of the vaccine.
Souleles encouraged people to consider getting the vaccine once it’s authorized by the Food and Drug Administration and recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
And continue to follow the mitigation measures we know well.

You’ve heard this hundreds of times in the past two-plus years, but it’s important to follow the rules we know keep COVID from spreading ― especially as it’s more contagious than ever.
Wash your hands for 20 seconds, wear a mask indoors, opt for outdoor settings when possible, stay up to date with your vaccinations, take a COVID test if you feel sick and isolate if you test positive.
Experts are still learning about COVID-19. The information in this story is what was known or available as of publication, but guidance can change as scientists discover more about the virus. Please check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the most updated recommendations.

I can see a scenario where Putin starts blaming his generals for the failure of the invasion of Ukraine. Once he crosses the line and starts taking action against one or more of them, they might decide they are better off sticking together. It is not a large jump to the military.

Why did King Henry VIII hire a swordsman from France when he executed Anne Boleyn? Why didn’t he hire an English swordsman? Were French swordsmen more proficient in executions?

The skill of the swordsman Henry hired was not merely in the swing of a sword, but in surprise. He alleviated the fear of the condemned by never letting them see the sword or dread its swing. When Anne was led out of the Tower to the platform, her executioner greeted her empty handed and asked her to forgive him; which she did gladly and handed him the purse of the King’s gold.

When the time came, she knelt and the executioner standing behind her to her left said: “Boy! Fetch my sword!”; at which a young boy hurried off stage in the opposite direction. Anne of course looks after him following him with her eyes to see the sword when it comes. It is at that very moment while she is distracted that the executioner soundlessly retrieves his sword which is concealed on the platform with them. While Ann is looking away with her head held high and neck straight, he strikes swiftly.

The head of Anne Boleyn is in the basket before she even realizes the blow has fallen. Not only was the executioner skilled in the actual use of his weapon, but he was skilled in preventing and alleviating the terror and anxiety that the condemned experienced immediately before their death.

If you were extremely unfortunate, or if the King or his councilors and authorities had particular reason to hate and despise you, instead of the cold cool and professional swordsman, you might instead find a man staggering around the platform with a dull axe, still reeling from all the ale he drank the night before. There are tales of executions which went horribly wrong. Sometimes the executioner missed with the axe, cutting through only part of the neck or missing completely and instead striking the head or the upper back. It was customary for the condemned to tip their headsman in the hope of dying with a single blow from the axe instead of many, which sometimes occurred.

    • Solange says:

Marcel Felix Petiot was a French serial killer who got his victims by offering to help them escape France through a non-existent secret route. They were majorly wanted people.

Once the victims agreed, he convinced them that they needed to be vaccinated.

Instead of giving them vaccine, he would inject them with cyanide and then rob them of their belongings.

On 11 March 1944, Petiot’s neighbors called the attention of the police to a foul stench in the area and large amounts of smoke billowing from a chimney of the house.
Fearing a chimney fire, the police summoned firemen, who entered the house and found a roaring fire in a coal stove in the basement. In the fire, and scattered in the basement, were human remains. It is believed he killed not less than 60 people this way.

He disappeared for a while, grew his beard and changed his name to Henri Valeri. He joined the military and was among those drafted to look for Marcel Félix Petiot. He was subsequently captured after someone recognized him.

What does it mean if bacon is uncured?
“What does it mean if bacon is uncured?”

It usually means the claim on the label is a dodge. It’s a lie that is allowed by law but being allowed by law doesn’t make it a true claim.

Cured bacon means it was treated with nitrated. Uncured bacon was treated with celery seeds. Celery seeds contain nitrates so they cure the bacon. Because what was added was an agricultural product not a chemical product, they get to claim it was not cured. Even though it was in fact cured.

There are other ways to make bacon.

Bacon can be smoked. That takes so much time and effort that even bacon whose label say it was smoked, that was done as an extra step. High price gourmet bacon is made where smoking was its only preservation method. By the way, this smoked-only bacon is wonderful.

Bacon can be salted. Nitrates are technically types of salt. The word salt normally means sodium chloride which is one specific type of salt. Pork can be aged in brine or aged covered in dry salt. The result is bacon. This too is wonderful if you can find it.

What are some common human foods that are toxic to dogs?
I have two old german shepherds that still have the same energy they had as pups. If you want your dog to live a long, healthy life, this is the most important thing I’ve learned to date. According to world-famous actress and animal advocate Katherine Heigl, there’s a problem affecting millions of dogs across America — their food. Heigl’s foundation has helped save over 16,000 dogs from kill shelters and place them in new homes and she says she’s seeing more health issues in dogs than ever before.

And the problem isn’t just the food they eat — it’s what’s inside it.

“Kibble and canned foods are often cooked at really high temperatures, and when that happens you can get things called advanced glycation end products, or A.G.E.s”, Heigl says. “These are toxic to your dog’s health.”

Cheap ingredients and poor cooking methods can lead to joint problems, mushy poops, bad odors, itchy skin, and a host of other unexplained issues.

Fortunately, there are things we dog owners can do.

“What we’re seeing is that there are special foods and herbs that do wonders for a dog’s health. We call them canine superfoods,” says Heigl.

“If your dog has any of these issues, you want to get these superfoods into their diet immediately.”

I learned all of this through Heigl’s short video which explains her exact health boosting method along with step-by-step instructions for how to do it at home.

      • Michelle says:

Thanks for the info. Would you mind posting Heigl’s video that explains her health boosting method?

        • Cain says:

Don’t take it too seriously. Yes, it is true that most dog food will eventually kill your dog. But these bastards are in it for the money. They would just as soon poison your dog with one of their additives too if the profit was there.

She recalls telling him they would both probably get a good ego boost if she did, but that wasn’t something that was in the cards for her. The relationship ended shortly after that, but Stone didn’t let that affect her, noting she didn’t want someone in her life who only valued her beauty.

“I saw him one more time after that and then he wasn’t interested in seeing me anymore,” Stone told the magazine. “If you don’t see me for more than that, you’ll please find your way to the exit.”

What is life like at age 45?
I’m 49 and I can tell you that most people start going downhill after 40. The cuties you once thought were hot in high school have all morphed into wildebeests. At about 45, some people begin what’s known as a mid-life crises.
That’s when you wake-up and realize that you’re not where you thought you’d be at 45 and then get deeply depressed about your failures. This is when most marriages fall apart too. At mid 40’s, you begin feeling aches and pains you’ve never felt before.

Many in their 40’s develop serious health issues which is nothing more than accumulation of all the junk food and bad habits people had in their 20’s/30’s. You also realize in your 40’s that most people don’t give a shit about you and that friends fall off as they marry or move-on.
The reality of life at this age begins to create a deep awareness of many things…one of those things is, the feeling of being invincible slowly goes away. You being to ponder about the deep things in life, such as religion and God. And you begin to question the true source of your happiness.

I had an argument with my wife’s white relatives about me telling our children that the rapist Christopher Columbus never did not discover america. The Vikings beat him to it by a hundred years.

    • Charles says:

Even though we owe Christopher Columbus our appreciation, it is essential to remember that he was not The first person to embark on a voyage of this kind.

The historical facts reveal that Africans arrived in the Americas centuries before Columbus.
Leo Weiner, an expert in history and language who teaches at Harvard University, is of the opinion that a diary written by Christopher Columbus is one of the most convincing proofs that Africans came to America prior to his arrival.

Christopher Columbus wrote in his memoir that black-skinned people had come from the south-east, on boats, bargaining in gold-tipped spears. Later research revealed that the make-up of the spears was similar to the ratio of gold, copper,
and silver alloy that was used in African Guinean spears during the time period.

      Archeological Proofs in America
The unearthing of enormous Olmec head statues in Central and South America that have facial features that are characteristic of Africa lends credence to the theory that Africans had already developed settlement houses on the continent long before it was supposedly discovered. Each of these sculptures may reach a height of up to 3.45 meters (or 11.15 feet), and they can weigh anywhere from 30 to 40 tonnes.
They usually portray black males as having huge eyes, big noses, and pouty lips, and they wear helmets. In addition, they often picture black men as being violent.

      Archeological Proofs in Mexico
In the year 1862, the archaeologist Jose Melgar found one of these heads in the Mexican city of Veracruz. Melgar wrote, that he was startled by the Ethiopic type that it symbolizes.
At one time or another, America was home to a sizeable population of people who may be classified as having African ancestry. The head coverings that adorn these Olmec sculptures are reminiscent of a type of war helmet that is believed to have been worn by the Nubians who lived along with Egypt’s southern coast.

The Blacks were the Masters, not Slaves.
Early Mexican historians recognized almost immediately that the role played by black explorers in pre-colonial America was significant and had an effect that would last for a long period of time.
One of the authors, J.A. Villacorta, says that no matter how you look at it, Mexican culture finds its roots in Africa.

Another writer, Rafique Jairazbhoy, is also correct in his argument that the black began his career in America not as a slave but as a master.

      Summing Up!!!
Africans were arriving in the Americas decades and decades before Columbus, despite the fact that this fact is routinely concealed by the education system of the United States of America and other European countries. The proof for their existence can no longer be refuted since it is so substantial.

In English translation, God created the earth and everything in it. However, in the original Hebrew, there are two answers, although they do both refer to God, as we know him. Genesis chapter 1 says that Elohim created the earth and everything in it. Genesis chapter 2 says that Yahweh created the world.

In the passage of time, Elohim and Yahweh were syncretised as one God.

The injustice of te US justice system is on full display as it deals with this criminal ex POTUS. If you are a non white and get caught stealing as little as a candy bar you can get and probably will 20 plus years in prison. Whites can murder and get paroled after a few years.
Case on point: In 1966, Kenneth McDuff was convicted of murdering three people. He was initially sentenced to death. But his sentence was changed to life imprisonment.

However, in 1989, he was paroled. His life in prison did not change him. He went on to kill more people before being arrested in 1992. He was again sentenced to death and executed in 1998. Many white serial killers have been arrested and patrolled, later to go on killing again, few get caught the second time.

How do narcissists show their love in a long-term relationship?
Long term relationships are where you see the real face of the narc. That means no affection, or support or caring , never mind real love. The best the partner will ever receive is a public display- which is for the benefit of the narc (to make them look good) not the partner.
At a push, if the partner threatens to leave, they might be told that the narc loves them, but that is just to make them stay, and is a lie. So please, if you think your partner is a narc, don’t hang around waiting for things to get better- they won’t, they will only get worse.
If a narc stays married to you, it is because you give them something and they are getting away with cheating – or maybe just because they can’t find an alternative. Love and happiness will never come into it.
Read about narcissism, and see how it will play out- and my advice is, don’t waste your time loving someone who will never love you back. You will find out why I say this. The best book I have found is a short, easy to read one- Prepare to be Tortured- the price you will pay for dating a narcissist. AB Jamieson, Amazon. The clue is in the title

Papaya is rich in carbohydrates, vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin C, papain, organic acids, and minerals such as iron, calcium, potassium, and phosphorus. Eating papaya can supplement some of the nutrients the body needs.

But papaya is a kind of cold fruit, which means that it decreases our body’s internal temperature. Therefore, papaya is not suitable for people with stomach cold or weak body.

Pregnant women should not eat papaya. Modern medical research has found that papaya contains papaya glycosides. Papaya glycosides may cause uterine contractions, which is not conducive to the stability of the fetus, and even lead to miscarriage.

It may sound contradictory, but they’re trying to beat the stock market by not investing in stocks. In fact, endowments from prestigious schools like Harvard have been using this strategy for decades. And it’s been working.

Morgan Stanley expects private markets to grow from $7.2 trillion in 2020 to $12.5 trillion by 2025. And there’s one “first in class” market that’s survived every major economic down turn: the Blue-Chip Art market.

How (and Why) to Use DuckDuckGo’s @Duck.com Email Protection
    TIM BROOKES

DuckDuckGo is the Google alternative that offers better privacy protection than other search engines. After a trial period the @Duck.com Email Protection service is now available for everyone to use, so here’s what it does and how to use it.

    What Is DuckDuckGo Email Protection?
DuckDuckGo Email Protection is a mail forwarding service with baked-in privacy features. You can sign up for an @duck.com forwarding address, which forwards to a standard mailbox of your choosing. Any email messages sent to your @duck.com address are stripped of known trackers before being forwarded to you.

The service also allows you to create random email aliases, just like Apple’s Hide My Email service. You can deactivate an alias at any time and stop receiving mail, which gives you greater protection and confidence when signing up for potentially spammy services.

Create a new DuckDuckGo Email Protection alias
DuckDuckGo states that the contents of email messages are not saved when using the service. Only your forwarding address and aliases are stored on DuckDuckGo’s services, with the search engine promising not to use personal information for anything other than running the service.

Email trackers are intrusive devices designed to see whether (and when) you open an email message. They often take the form of small images, known as tracking pixels. When the sender detects that the unique tracking pixel has been accessed, the email is marked as opened on their end.

While all known email trackers are stripped out, DuckDuckGo makes the point that “new trackers emerge all the time and blocking some may harm usability … while we can’t block them all, we work continuously to expand this email tracking blocking over time.”

    Change your @duck.com forwarding address

You can use your @duck.com address purely for forwarding purposes or you can create random aliases that can be binned at any time. This is virtually identical to Apple’s Hide My Email service without the reliance on an iCloud+ subscription and an Apple device. Apple also happens to block trackers using its Mail apps for macOS and iOS, which puts both services on a fairly even footing.

Apple’s service is arguably better integrated into the ecosystem with tracker blocking built-in at a software level (without the need for a forwarding service), but DuckDuckGo Email Protection offers a solid alternative for those who don’t use (or want to use) Apple products to get a comparable level of protection.

How to Use DuckDuckGo Email Protection
To use DuckDuckGo Email Protection you’ll need to use the DuckDuckGo extension and a supported browser like Firefox, Chrome, Brave, or Edge. The service is also available using the DuckDuckGo for Mac, DuckDuckGo for iPhone, or DuckDuckGo for Android.

DuckDuckGo extension for the Firefox browser
With the extension installed, visit DuckDuckGo’s Email Protection website in your chosen browser and hit “Get Started” to sign up. From here you’ll need to choose an address to use with the service. This will be a permanent forwarding address, so choose something that you’d be happy to give out.

You can head to duckduckgo.com/email/ at any time to update your forwarding address (under Account settings) and click “Generate Private Duck Address” to create a “burner” email. You can also click on the DuckDuckGo extension icon and click “Create new Duck Address” to copy a new alias to your clipboard.

Create DuckDuckGo mail alias using the Firefox extension
We tested the forwarding service and noticed that messages sent to disposable aliases went straight to iCloud’s “Junk” folder, so be aware of that if you’re going to depend on the service. If you want to deactivate an alias, you can do so by clicking on the “More” link at the top of an incoming message.

    Is DuckDuckGo Email Protection Secure?
DuckDuckGo is headquartered in Paoli, Pennsylvania, which means the company is subject to United States law and court requests. The search engine states in its Email Protection terms of agreement that it only discloses personal information when “legally forced to do so” and promises to go to court to fight disclosures. Individuals will be notified if requests are made by law enforcement.

DuckDuckGo goes on to state that it developed its own mail infrastructure, rather than using third-party services to send mail. The company promises to protect this infrastructure using “strict technical and organizational controls” which include an encrypted database in which personal information is stored and encrypted connections wherever possible

Be aware that some mail services don’t support encrypted connections, though most do at this stage. The company claims not to “log to disk” any IP addresses, including those of individuals found to be abusing the service. IP addresses are not linked to any personal information.

    DuckDuckGo Homepage
DuckDuckGo keeps 30 days’ worth of backup information (including your forwarding address and aliases), which means 30 days after requesting account deletion the should be gone forever. This is quite a long lead time compared to say a VPN, many of which don’t keep any logs at all.

Lastly, there’s the issue of ownership. DuckDuckGo states that it will not allow an ownerships change to “weaken” its policies. This is nice in theory, but ultimately there’s always a risk since no company can guarantee an outcome when losing its independent status.

There are a few indemnifying terms in the service agreement, like DuckDuckGo not guaranteeing the service always works as you expect. This is standard fare for most online services.

Should You Use DDG Email Protection?
DuckDuckGo Email Protection provides a useful service for those concerned about tracking pixels, who also value “burner” email addresses that can be switched off at any time.

The service takes a more privacy-conscious approach than most major email providers and allows you to give out disposable addresses without the worry of dealing with a torrent of spam or follow-up messages.

What Is Encryption, and How Does It Work?
DuckDuckGo promises that the contents of your messages are never logged to disk and are instead processed in memory on servers, and quickly erased. Despite this, personal information like your forwarding address and aliases you have created could potentially be used to identify you. DuckDuckGo Email Protection is a good way to combat marketers and spammers, rather than a dependable security tool.

Just remember that online privacy is a cat-and-mouse game, and marketers may find increasingly sneaky ways to get tracking pixels (or other techniques) into their messages.

If you want a truly secure email provider, you’re better off signing up for a service that is built to be as secure as possible from the ground-up. We recommend something like ProtonMail or Tutanota.

USB4 Version 2.0 Is Twice as Fast as Thunderbolt 4
    CORBIN DAVENPORT

USB is still the industry standard for transferring data and power between devices over a cable, even if the physical ports keep changing. USB4 Version 2.0 has now been announced, and it’s another significant boost for USB devices.

The USB Promoter Group, a consortium of companies including Apple, HP, Intel, Microsoft, and others, announced the “pending release of the USB4 Version 2.0 specification.” The update won’t be finalized sometime before November, so don’t expect to see PCs and other devices with USB4 Version 2.0 before the end of the year.

Data speeds are the main improvement this time around, just like with most USB updates. The maximum speed is now 80 Gbps, thanks to a “new physical layer architecture,” which is expected to be compatible with 40 Gbps existing cables. That’s faster than Thunderbolt, which maxes out at 40 Gbps across both Thunderbolt 3 (which USB4 is based on) and Thunderbolt 4. That could lead to improved external GPUs and other hardware that requires an ultra-fast data connection.

Why Does USB Have to Be So Complicated?
The new standard, at least on paper, may provide a speed boost with older hardware as well. Devices using USB 3.2 can only reach 20 Gbps at the most, but data tunneling updates in USB4 Version 2 will boost that to higher (unspecified) speeds. USB4 Version 2 also supports the “latest versions of the DisplayPort and PCIe specifications,” and is fully backwards compatible with older USB standards and Thunderbolt 3.

Unfortunately, the USB Promoter Group is still using confusing names for new standards. It’s not quite as ridiculous as previous updates, where older standards were retroactively renamed (e.g. USB 3.0 became USB 3.1 Gen 1, then USB 3.2 Gen 1), but there’s no reason why “USB4 Version 2.0” couldn’t have been “USB 5.” The USB Group hasn’t finalized branding and marketing guidelines for certified 80 Gbps products and cables.

Even though most devices need 80 Gbps data speeds right now (or 40 Gbps, for that matter), it’s great to see USB become more future-proof. Intel is also working on Thunderbolt 5, which leaks indicate will also offer 80 Gbps speeds with a similar physical layer (PHY) connection. It’s possible Intel is waiting for USB4 Version 2.0 to be finalized before revealing Thunderbolt 5, so the two can be fully compatible.

I have had people drag injured drivers out of cars, help police arrest a fighting suspect, turn over camera footage, and other helpful things. In every case I tell them it’s probably a good idea to stay anonymous so they can’t get sued. In one case I later had someone ask me, “Who was that guy at the wreck scene that was not a cop? To feel the skirt slip through my fingers as I walk mmmm. That is how I’m affected by a skirt

    • James says:

Before anyone starts writing hate messages, there are other looks that work much better those women, and those women also look great.

One other thing that can be bad about a micro skirt is this. Have you ever held a car door, particularly on a sporty, low slung car, for a woman wearing a mini or micro skirt? If they are not careful, there will be more of a view of what’s under the skirt than most would like to give the world.

Only do so if you are comfortable with the world seeing everything you are hiding under that skirt.

Interesting because wheather or not you’r a guy or girl those who acutally try on a micro mini skirt discovers Freedom and Comfort. You know your covered so really no big deal for anyone. You have a sense of security knowing your covered but enjoying a garmet that eliminates inseams.

When very short (usually micro minis are skirts under 10.5″ long approximately) you will discover freedom of movement you never had before. Cooler in summer than anything else and they look exceptionally good on anyone…male or female.

I’ve known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you’ve been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you’re a big shot when you haven’t the brains to realize you’ll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.”

The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, ‘Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?’

She again replied, ‘Why yes, I do. I’ve known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He’s lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can’t build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.”

    The defense attorney nearly died.
The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said,
“If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I’ll send you both to the electric chair.”

A woman goes to her boyfriend’s parent’s house for dinner.
This is to be her first time meeting the family and she is very nervous.

They all sit down and begin eating a fine meal.
The woman is beginning to feel a little discomfort, thanks to her nervousness and the broccoli casserole. The gas pains are almost making her eyes water.

Left with no other choice, she decides to relieve herself a bit and lets out a dainty fart. It wasn’t loud, but everyone at the table heard the pouf.

Before she even had a chance to be embarrassed, her boyfriend’s father looked over at the dog that had been snoozing at the woman’s feet and said in a rather stern voice, “Skippy!”.

The woman thought, “This is great!” and a big smile came across her face.
A couple of minutes later, she was beginning to feel the pain again.
This time, she didn’t even hesitate. She let a much louder and longer fart rip.

The father again looked and the dog and yelled, “Dammit Skippy!”

Once again the woman smiled and thought “Yes!”.
A few minutes later the woman had to let another one rip. This time she didn’t even think about it. She let rip a fart that rivaled a train whistle blowing!

Once again, the father looked at the dog with disgust and yelled,
“Dammit Skippy, get away from her before she shits on you!”

Every morning, the CEO of a major bank in Manhattan went to the corner where a shoeshine man was always there.

He used to sit on the chair, read the Wall Street Journal, and the shoeshine man gave his shoes a shiny, great look.

One morning, the shoeshine man asks the CEO:
“What do you think of the stock market situation?”

      The CEO arrogantly asks him:
“Why are you so interested in this subject?”

      The shoeshine man replies:
“I have 20 million dollars deposited in your bank and I am thinking about investing part of the money in the stock market.”

The CEO of the bank asks:
      “What is your name?”

      He replies:
      “John Smith H.”

The CEO arrives at the bank and asks the Manager of the Major Accounts Department:
“Do we have a customer named John Smith H.?”

      He replies:
“We certainly do, sir! He is an extremely esteemed customer! He has 20 million dollars in his account.”

The CEO leaves the bank, approaches the shoeshine boy, and says:
“Mr. Smith, I would like to invite you to be our guest of honor at our board meeting next Monday and tell us your life story. I’m sure we will have a lot to learn from you.”

At the board meeting, the CEO introduces him to the board members:
“We all know Mr. Smith, who makes our shoes shine like no one else. But Mr. Smith is also our valued customer, with twenty million dollars in his account.

I invited him to tell us the story of his life. I’m sure we can learn a lot from him. Please, Mr. Smith, tell us your life story.”

Then, Mr. Smith began to narrate his story:
“I came to this country thirty years ago as a young immigrant from Eastern Europe and with an unpronounceable name. I left the ship penniless in my pocket.

The first thing I did was to change my name to Smith.

I was hungry and exhausted. I started to wander in search for a job, but without success.

Suddenly, I found a coin on the sidewalk. I bought some apples.

I had two options: eat the apples and quench my hunger or start a business. I sold the apples for 50 cents and bought more apples with the money.

When I started accumulating dollars, I managed to buy a set of used brushes and shoe polishes and started cleaning shoes.

I didn’t spend a dime on fun or clothes. I only bought bread and cheese to survive.

I saved penny by penny and after a while I bought a new set of brushes and shoe polishes in different shades and colors and increased my clientele.

I lived like a monk and saved every penny. I managed to buy a chair so that my customers could sit comfortably while I cleaned their shoes, which brought me more customers.

I didn’t spend a dime on the pleasures of life. I kept saving every penny.

A few years ago, when the corner shoeshine colleague decided to retire, I had already saved enough money to buy his point, which was a better place than mine.

Finally, 3 months ago, my drug dealer brother passed away and left me 20 million dollars.

The only cow in a small town in Poland stopped giving milk.

The people did some research and found that they could buy a cow from Moscow for 2,000 rubles, or one from Minsk for 1,000 rubles. Being frugal, they bought the cow from Minsk. The cow was wonderful.

It produced lots of milk all the time, and the people were amazed and very happy. They decided to acquire a bull to mate with the cow and produce more cows like it. Then they would never have to worry about the milk supply again. They bought a bull and put it in the pasture with their beloved cow. However, whenever the bull came close to the cow, the cow would move away. No matter what approach the bull tried, the cow would move away from the bull and he could not succeed in his quest.

The people were very upset and decided to ask their wise rabbi, what to do.

They told the rabbi what was happening. “Whenever the bull approaches our cow, she moves away. If he approaches from the back, she moves forward. When he approaches her from the front, she backs off. An approach from the side and she just walks away to the other side.”

The rabbi thought about this for a minute and asked, “Did you buy this cow from Minsk?”

The people were dumbfounded, since they had never mentioned where they had gotten the cow.

“You are truly a wise rabbi,” they said. “How did you know we got the cow from Minsk?”

The rabbi answered sadly, “My wife is from Minsk.

A male whale and a female whale were swimming off the coast of Japan when they noticed a whaling ship.
The male whale recognized it as the same ship that had harpooned his father many years earlier.

He said to the female whale, “Let’s both swim under the ship and blow out of our air holes at the same time and it should cause the ship to turn over and sink”.

They tried it and sure enough, the ship turned over and quickly sank.
Soon, however, the whales realized the sailors had jumped overboard and were swimming to the safety of the shore.
The male was enraged that they were going to get away and told the female “let’s swim after them and gobble them up before they reach the shore.”

At this point, he realized the female was becoming reluctant to follow him.
“Look”, she said, “I went along with the blow job, but I absolutely refuse to swallow the seamen.”

How does Google track me even when I’m not using it?
Google can (and does) track your activity across many non-Google websites and apps. That may be surprising, even if you already know that when you use Google products like Google Search, Chrome, and YouTube, they collect a shocking amount of personal information about you.

Google trackers are lurking behind most websites.

Google Analytics — a free Google service used by millions of websites and apps — is actually the biggest cross-site tracker on the Internet, lurking creepily behind the scenes on around 72.6% of the top 75k sites. While “analytics” sounds harmless and is in fact something websites need to improve their services, what’s happening underneath the hood with Google Analytics is anything but harmless or necessary.

Unlike privacy-focused analytics services, Google uses their Google Analytics tracker for more than just providing information about site visitors and app users to the sites and apps themselves. In many cases Google also adds that same information to Google’s own massive profiles about people. Since Google Analytics is embedded in so many sites, this tracker alone allows Google to see most people’s global browsing history, regardless of whether they use any Google products themselves.

The second biggest cross-site tracker is also Google’s: aptly named “Global Site Tag” and on around 60% of the top 10K websites. Most of the ads you see online on non-Google websites are actually still coming from Google, and this tracker helps track them. Google uses personal data from Google Analytics, Global Site Tag, and from their many other trackers and products, so they can target you with advertising and content they think you’ll want to see. While 72.6% of the top 75k sites contain Google Analytics, if you look at the full portfolio of Google trackers across those sites, 86.5% contain one or more of them.

    Why should you care?

Most people want to avoid those creepy Google ads that follow you around everywhere online. Google lets advertisers target people based on their Google search history, browsing history, location history, and other personal information collected through Google’s many trackers.

In addition, all of this data also enables industries like airlines to charge users different prices based upon their personal information (through yet another Google product). Yes, you could be charged more for your next vacation as a result of the data collected about you!

This data also can be used beyond just ads. It has led to innocent bystanders being suspected of crimes they didn’t commit and can even influence your ability to apply for jobs, get a loan, or rent a home. It also is used to fuel filter bubbles online by using your data in algorithms to suggest content (e.g., links, videos, articles, etc.) Google *thinks* you’ll want to engage with.

An example is YouTube’s recommended videos where many, including kids, have been recommended unsafe content based on filter bubble algorithms. This happens on Google Search too, where people are served different results based on Google’s profile of them. This type of filter bubble is especially pernicious when searching for political topics because you are not getting unbiased results or seeing what everyone else is seeing (e.g., when researching potential candidates).

The implications of all this tracking are even more disturbing in aggregate, where this invasive targeting and manipulation can breed extremism and polarization on a societal level as well as influence voting patterns.

All this Google tracking is hiding in plain sight.

In public Google tells people a very different story. They try to convince you that they care about privacy and are protecting your data, even as they continue to invade your privacy behind the scenes.

You’ve probably heard of Google Chrome’s “Incognito Mode”? By using “incognito” in the name, Google has led users to believe that this setting makes you anonymous online, but in reality, it only helps you offline. It just deletes the local copy of your search and browsing history (just the stuff stored on your computer), while doing nothing to curb websites, search engines (including Google), Internet service providers and others, from easily tracking you across the web.

In Google’s Incognito Mode, none of Google’s trackers are blocked. This is just one example of Google’s false privacy narrative — a narrative that in this case has led to a class-action lawsuit against Google that was recently given the go-ahead in court.

Google continues to make pledges to protect people’s privacy yet routinely resists disclosing what’s really going on. Every time Google has been forced to pull back the curtain and explain what they’re really doing, the truth about how much data they collect vs. what they actually need to collect is shocking.

Most recently Google embedded a new tracking method called FLoC in Chrome and started turning it on by default without any explicit opt-in consent from users. Google seems to know that if they were to give people an honest and easy-to-understand explanation of what they are doing with their data followed by a choice of whether to opt-in or not, hardly anyone would opt-in to it.

In these instances and more, the big G is pushing a false sense of privacy to protect their business model — we call that “privacy washing”. This lack of transparency is an injustice to you, and every consumer. Remember what happened when the big bad wolf dressed in grandma’s clothing? When danger is cloaked in a friendly, familiar disguise, it’s easy to get sucked in (just like poor Little Red).

According to Italian law at that time, she could have been forced to marry her rapist in order to save her family’s honor. But in 1966 she was the first woman to refuse what was then called a “reparatory marriage”.

With this courageous act of defiance, one that her family fully supported, her rapist was convicted to 10 years in prison and the laws in Italy were changed. Franca Viola stood up for herself and in effect, for all women. Franca and her family were interested in justice, not revenge, and the country took notice, changing ideas about violence against women forever.

Why are half black people in the United States (such as Barack Obama) considered to be exclusively black while almost never acknowledged to be equally white? Doesn’t that enforce the (incorrect) idea that white is the “default”?

Well see back in the days of slavery. Female slaves and concubines were just like every other woman in the world. Some beautiful, some not. And the owners, the sons, the plantation males, any man who felt the urge would have sex willingly or without her permission when they felt like it. These Sessions sometimes produced babies. After a while this was getting out of hand. Some of the babies produced got so light bright that in a different setting with the proper accouterments they could pass for white. That was a problem because it could conceivably come to pass that some of the lily white majority could marry and produce children with slaves. That would mean there’s slaves in our family tree. In addition to that slaves were money. Light complected slaves were worth more money. If some slave trader snatched someone off the street (12 years a slave) and said they were a slave and sold them down south. Who’s going to say nay? If they were light you had to prove that they were the owners get with a slave. Which usually wasn’t a problem. Because there was this rule. One drop rule.

    Virginia Slave Laws, 1660s

Essential it says if there is one drop of black blood in you you’re black. It’s a law on the books. I only did peripheral research on it but it my understanding that It is still on the books in Virginia and other states.

In the United States, the “one-drop rule” — also known as hypodescent — dates to a 1662 Virginia law on the treatment of mixed-race individuals. The legal notion of hypodescent has been upheld as recently as 1985, when a Louisiana court ruled that a woman with a black great-great-great-great-grandmother could not identify herself as “white” on her passport.

    One-drop rule’ persists

Ain’t that a kick in the pants.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/virginia-politics/virginia-looks-at-scrapping-defunct-racist-laws-still-on-the-books/2019/12/05/e06b3b62-1781-11ea-9110-3b34ce1d92b1_story.html?outputType=amp

So to answer your question it’s because a very long time ago the majority in order to preserve its purity, and right too rule enacted laws, some of which are still on the books, that said if there was one drop of black blood in you, you were black. This meant all the little owner babies were black

No matter what your appearance said, if your mother was black, your grandmother, great grandmother all the way back 4 generations, if any one of them were black, then you were black.

Who are some of the dumbest criminals ever to be caught?
This girl takes the cake by far.

Hannah Sabata, at the age of 19, robbed a local bank at gunpoint on November 27, 2012. She actually managed to get away with it, so why am I mentioning her on this answer if she was successful in her crime?

Well, after she robbed the bank, Sabata decided that it was a good idea to post a video on YouTube titled “Chick Bank robber” in where she admitted to stealing a car and driving it to Waco in order to commit the robbery. She then explained in her video how she managed to get away with $6,000 worth of cash; she even held up the keys of the car she stole.
HEY GUYS, I JUST ROBBED A BANK AND NOW I’M MAKING THIS VIDEO TO INFORM YOU OF IT!

Unsurprisingly, she later got a wake up call by the police and Polk county authorities who placed her under arrest. Investigators then found the stolen money. She was convicted and given 10–20 years in prison, a sentence she’s been serving since June 2013.

Yes, she is a blond. You can still find her video on YouTube. Anyway, she’s my nomination.

  38. Lynne says:

Did Henry VIII regret executing Anne Boleyn?
No. He waited on a hill for the cannons boom announcing the death of his wife and Queen of England, Anne Boleyn. Upon hearing them he wheeled his horse and rode to Wolf Hall to pay court to Jane Seymour, whom he married twelve days later.

I believe that once Anne was arrested, Henry ceased thinking about her. Everything had been done in advance. Her verdict had been decided. The swordsman had been ordered. The color of the pall on her scaffold had been chosen (black).

Henry was very good at forgetting what he did not wish to remember. I do not think he believed Anne guilty of the crimes of which she was accused: incest and adultery with multiple men.

However, he needed a male heir. If that meant he had to set Katherine of Aragon aside to die alone, their twenty-five year marriage annulled, so be it. If Anne Boleyn, for whom he moved heaven and earth to marry, had to be executed, it mattered not. At least not to Henry.

Perhaps as he lay dying, when his mind was turned to thoughts of heaven and hell (very real places to him), and the disposition of his immortal soul. Maybe then, if he took stock of his life, he felt regret for the execution of Anne Boleyn.

    We will never know.

He said that Hulick’s pants, which weren’t popular with women at the time, took too much attention away from the legal issues at hand. The proceedings were then rescheduled in order for her to return dressed in a more “acceptable outfit.” To the judge’s surprise, however, Hulick publicly denounced this decision the following day.

Bass Reeves, U.S. Deputy Marshal “Maybe the law ain’t perfect, but it’s the only one we got, and without it, we got nuthin ” — Bass Reeves. Born to slave parents in 1838 in Crawford County, Arkansas , Bass Reeves would become the first black U.S. Deputy Marshal west of the Mississippi River and one of the greatest frontier heroes in our nation’s history.
Owned by a man named William Reeves, a farmer and politician, Bass took the surname of his owner, like other slaves of the time. His first name came from his grandfather, Basse Washington.
Reeves started as a water boy until he was old enough to become a field hand, working alongside his parents. In about 1846, William Reeves moved his operations, family, and slaves to Grayson County, Texas . Bass was a tall young man, at 6’2″, with good manners and a sense of humor. George Reeves, William’s son, later became his valet, bodyguard, and personal companion.
When the Civil War broke out, Texas sided with the Confederacy , and George Reeves went into battle, taking Bass with him. During these years of the Civil War, Bass parted company from Reeves; some say because Bass beat up George after a dispute in a card game.
Others believe that Bass heard too much about the “freeing of slaves” and ran away. In any event, Bass fled to Indian Territory (Oklahoma), where he took refuge with the Seminole, Cherokee , and Creek Indians , learning their customs, languages, and tracking skills.
He also honed his firearm skills, becoming very quick and accurate with a pistol. Though Reeves claimed to be “only fair” with a rifle, he was barred regularly from competitive turkey shoots.
“Freed” by the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 and no longer a fugitive, Reeves left Indian Territory and bought land near Van Buren, Arkansas, where he became a successful farmer and rancher.
A year later, he married Nellie Jennie from Texas and immediately began to have a family. Raising ten children on their homestead — five girls and five boys, the family lived happily on the farm.
During this time, oral history states that Reeves sometimes served as a scout and guide for U.S. Deputy Marshals going into Indian Territory on business for the Van Buren Federal Court, which had jurisdiction over Indian Territory.
Judge Isaac Parker Reeve’s life as a contented farmer would change when the Federal Western District Court was moved to Fort Smith , Arkansas , and Isaac C. Parker was appointed on May 10, 1875.
At that time, the Indian Territory had become extremely lawless as thieves, murderers, and anyone else wishing to hide from the law took refuge in the territory that previously had no federal or state jurisdiction.
One of Parker’s first official acts was to appoint U.S. Marshal James F. Fagan as head of some 200 deputies he was then told to hire. Fagan heard of Bass Reeves’ significant knowledge of the area, as well as his ability to speak several tribal languages, and soon recruited him as a U.S. Deputy. The deputies were tasked with “c

    Unknown Black Facts:
The Dahomey Amazon Warriors were the most famous African warrior women of the 1890s. The only female frontline troops in contemporary conflict history. A sub-Saharan band of female terminators who left their European colonizers trembling.

The Dahomey Amazons were a Fon all-female military regiment of the Kingdom of Dahomey which existed from the 1700s until 1904. There are few accounts of all female military regiments. Wikipedia

Why didn’t slaves run away and hide in remote places, or run away or build a boat and sail to countries that would take them in?

This not only happened, often times, the ones that were able to get away and find others would eventually form communities.

      They were called Maroons

      Maroon (people) – Wikipedia

Others were able to flee to the northern states. Fugitive slaves in the United States – Wikipedia

One man even hid himself in a box and mailed himself to Philadelphia

Henry ‘Box’ Brown – Henry Box Brown – Wikipedia

Still others were able to get to Canada

One example of this is Josiah Henson – Josiah Henson – Wikipedia

But the tactic of fleeing was very ineffective for most slaves. Here’s why

Most slave masters forced their slaves to have a wife (or a woman, at least) and kids. This way..they could increase their labor force without any additional cost of buying more slaves. This meant… if you’re going to flee, you’d have to either leave your family or risk bringing them with you
Poor Whites were able to make a living by catching runaway slaves and returning then for a reward, they had blood hounds and horses vs slaves who often had to run on foot (with no shoes). They wouldn’t stop till they caught you.
A slave who was away from his master had to have papers (a pass) that permitted them to be out. A runaway would be easy to spot, if they stuck to the main roads or went into a city or town.
Slaves often never had the chance to leave their plantation. So they wouldn’t know where to run to… or who to trust once they left. Imagine being dropped off in a foreign country where the very way you look makes you stick out like a sore thumb. Oh, and virtually everyone in that country is against you. That’s what they were up against
To be caught would mean a life of torture (worse even than the torture they were already subjected to). They would often be hobbled, maimed, branded, or beaten till they were broken mentally… or killed.
They had no money or weapons, or even decent clothing. No way to hunt for food and often no hunting skills to rely on anyway. Starvation was a constant threat that would often send them back to the very plantation they fled from.
Even if you got away to the north… the Fugitive Slave Act stated that anyone that knew you were a slave was bound by law to turn you in.
Let me state again… the whole country was against them. Things were slightly better up North, but when your skin is brown… sneaking past hundreds of thousands of White people (who’d rather see you dead than free) to get up North was often an impossible task.

Whites by and large didn’t support runaway slaves. They often thought that these people should be happy with being slaves and that something had to be mentally wrong with them to ever have wanted to escape.

      Drapetomania – Wikipedia

But that didn’t mean that thousands of Blacks didn’t try.

Here are some stories of other people who were able to escape to freedom

The fact that they capture humans to make them cry because human tears contain a natural pain killer and mood enhancer shows how unreliable their vote is.

    • H]8 says:

That is the same group who mimic Armadillos by swallowing air to become buoyant when they swim.

    • L[3/2 says:

They also take them to Mars to watch Mars’ Blue sunsets. It has been proven that the Blue sunsets of Mars make humans cry because they miss the red sunsets of Earth.

    • P[9 says:

Because human brains are sometimes more active when they are asleep than when they are awake, they force the humans to have bad dreams while they are asleep to produce more potent tears.

    • J*/7 says:

Some of this may be related to the fact that swearing when in pain may release pain-killing endorphins.

  46. T[7 says:

You are demeaning the T*/8, yet many of you don earth suits and kiss humans even though you know that over 80 million bacteria can be exchanged in one human kiss.

    • T[8 says:

They also contributed to the new form of Cloaking because they mimicked the glass winged butterfly on Earth that lacks colored scales, which makes its wings transparent and helps it avoid predators.

    • I]6 says:

They could have mined the human body for tears in a different way since humans spend 10% of their time blinking.

    • Y[1/4 says:

Please note that T*/8 earned their place Among the rest of you because helped to form the “suits” used on Earth and in Space to keep us safe. Those discoveries came for the constant experiments done on every living organism on the planet Earth. Think of what they learned from the study of the earth Scorpion. They froze scorpions overnight, then left them in the sun the following day and discovered that when thawed, the arthropods walked away unscathed.

From this the suits we wear today were formed. So now that they have discovered the benefits of human tears and want to take that discovery to the next step, you unenlightened are literally bitching.

      • R[5 says:

Yes, and it was they who discovered that humans eyes face forward for the purpose of seeing 3D.

      • C]7 says:

T*/8 were not the sole inventors of the “suit.” K*/3 contributed to the quality of the suit with their discovery of the earth amphipod that makes aluminum armor to protect itself.

      • K]7 says:

Of course you would rush to the rescue of them, like your Mothership’s choice of the title Yosemite which means “those who kill,” their title has a similar meaning to Earthlings.

They also were the ones who wanted to remove all humans from the Sahara Desert until they discovered only ¼ of the Sahara Desert is sandy.

Admit it they produce Lightning which can heat the air it passes through to 50,000 degrees to scare the shit out of humans.

All this worrying about humans is pointless since human pollution has insured that most humans will die of some from of cancer since that pollution means every month, the average person consumes about a Lego brick’s worth of microplastic.

    • O]5 says:

How does that detract from a group who adopt earth cats that are allergic to people so they can have an excuse to kill the humans who their cats are allergic to?

      • D[7 says:

And it is well known that they use the Earth’s most toxic mineral, cinnabar to poison those humans.

What is a historical lie that many people believe today?
That Cleopatra was some kind of otherworldly beauty who mesmerized every man she met .
Ancient historians were most impressed/shocked by her intelligence and ability to manipulate, she made it seem as easy as breathing, and it wasn’t until centuries later that she began to develop this reputation as a ‘sexy seductress’.

Cleopatra’s ancestors were big fans of incest, and members of the Ptolemaic dynasty had a reputation for being… weird looking.
Cleopatra was reportedly above-average in appearance compared to other members of her family, but according to historians such as Plutarch, the general consensus was that “her beauty…was not in itself wholly incomparable, nor such as could impress those who saw it”. But her intelligence surpassed all who dared to spar with her.

I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an airport employee asked,

‘Has anyone put anything in your baggage without your knowledge?’

To which I replied, ‘If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?’

He smiled knowingly and nodded, ‘That’s why we ask.’

The pedestrian light on the corner beeps when it’s safe to cross the street.

I was crossing with an ‘intellectually challenged’ co-worker of mine.

She asked if I knew what the beeper was for.

I explained that it signals blind people when the light is red.

When my wife and I arrived at a car dealership…

to pick up our car after a service, we were told the keys had been locked in it.

We went to the service department and found a mechanic working feverishly to unlock the driver’s side door.

As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked.

‘Hey,’ I announced to the technician, ‘it’s open!’

His reply, ‘I know. I already did that side.’
