     The enormous geodesic polyhedron, Spaceship Earth, at the center of Walt Disney World’s Epcot park, is clad in 11,324 silvered isosceles triangles. If a perfect polyhedron, it would have 11,520 isosceles triangles, but some are missing to make room for the massive legs and doors.

     Did You Know

     An approximately 14,200-year-old grave site uncovered in Germany in 1914 is the earliest evidence we have of the domestication of dogs. The site had two humans along with the body of a puppy. Researchers not only identified the puppy skeleton as that of a domesticated canine species, but evidence at the site suggested it had received direct care from humans.

     Most people take great care to not scratch the bottom of their CDs and DVDs, but in reality, it’s the top that you should protect. The actual data on an optical disc is stored in an extremely thin layer of aluminum under the label side, and if scratched, it cannot be polished back to a showroom shine like the plastic bottom layer.
