Randy’s always funny!

Can I just say that I’m really surprised that no one here commented on the DNC! I thought this group was more political. Although – no one really comments on the political posts I put up, so maybe you all don’t finding it interesting. But, let me tell you, I found the DNC very energizing! What a great group of women. And Adam Kinzinger, a Republican from Illinois, made an excellent speech for Kamala, and why we need to vote for her:

WATCH: Former Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger speaks at 2024 Democratic National Convention

Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, a Republican from Illinois, spoke Thursday on the final night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, an evening focused on the future as Kamala Harris formally accepts her party’s nomination for president. Kinzinger spoke against his party and their support of former president Donald Trump.

Another favorite of mine, Elizabeth Warren.

Elizabeth Warren gets emotional as DNC crowd cheers Mass. senator for over a minute

Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren received an ovation from the Democratic National Committee crowd that lasted over a minute Thursday night. causing the U.S. senator to get emotional, before speaking about her relationship with Kamala Harris.

She’s so teared up at the beginning. I can relate. I had a stuffy nose from crying I was just so full of emotion by the energy of it all, and so so happy when Kalama accepted the nomination.

Here she is, after several minutes of applause, when the announcement was made:

PrP: I hear you. I used to be super surprised myself when I posted something and no one commented on it. I know how much effort it takes to research, keeping up on the latest, and then creating a post. And when everyone is chatting about something else, I just had to let go and go with it. But I promise you, your efforts are not going to waste. As much as I enjoy reading your posts, I don’t always comment.

However I will comment on the DNC. I agree with you! I haven’t been this energized since Obama ran. Speaking of the Obama’s – wow both of their speeches we absolutely amazing. Sorry, Barack, I do think Michelle topped yours. 🙂

I was so against Biden dropping out. But the moment Kamala stepped in, I knew it was right for the Dems. It is very exciting and hopeful and I’m looking forward to doing some phone banking. Although I don’t think what happened to Hillary would happen to Kamala, but we don’t need to get complacent and take any chances. I do believe Kamala will win, (And I’m planning on coattails!) but it might be close.

Michelle Obama’s speech was great; I should have included it. Thank you for mentioning it.
I hope you do get a chance to phone bank. I’m helping by donating. I have never donated as much as I’ve donated this campaign season, not only to the Harris/Walz Victory Fund, but to constituents across the country in tight races.

We are not sure of her whereabouts today. But our records show that she was fond of entertaining the Egyptians. When she came as a human male she darned a green skin, wore a beard and had a pair of rams horns on her head.

When she converted to a female she was worshipped as the God of fertility both for women and the earth with a chthonic association with plants. In the Nineteenth Dynasty, as Path-Tatenen, she became the Royal Creator God because of her status as primeval creator deity.

She established the ennead of Gods for the Egyptians and allowed the aliens to come to Earth and portray them. In ancient Egyptian mythology, the Great Ennead was a group of nine deities that included the creator and sun god Atum and his children Shu (god of air and wind) and Tefnut (goddess of water). The ennead also included Shu and Tefnut’s children Geb (god of the earth) and Nut (goddess of the sky), and their children Osiris (god of death, resurrection, and fertility), Isis (mother of Horus), Seth (god of chaos), and Nephthys (mother of Anubis).

If only we could come to Earth as the gods of humans today. I would come as Ganesha.

I have no reason to defend the Ear of Biden. But I don’t know why you blaming the Ear for being smart and successful, is it jealousy or weakness of you, I don’t see anyone writing about Putin who started the war, I didn’t hear anyone blaming Putin for starting bounty on his head, If the Ear did that everyone will start saying how bad he is. I didn’t hear no one talking about Ostin the guy who is the head of the most powerful army how pussy he is.
    ============================

Those are all very valid points Nader. Too bad some of those false patriots can’t see the obvious, and you are also very right about Austin, he is too chicken to stand up for America’s interests.

    • Shanifa says:

Nader, I think you are very astute. But have you considered that Austin is more jealous of the Ear than he is a “pussy?”

    • Yvonne says:

I think there is another way to find out who Biden’s Ear is. The rumor is that he is soigne when he appears at a meeting and that he always arrives early.

      • Anonymous says:

Typical bitch remark. Who cares how well he is dressed when he enters a room. The people in that room are more concerned about their health. Some may not leave that room alive or they may be tapped on the shoulder later for physical assault or death.

The guy is a menace to humanity. He needs to be put down.

        • Giorgaina says:

You are one of the people Nader is referring to. Get a grip. As Nader said, he does a lot of good for his country. I wish we had someone like him or Nader in Greece.

  5. Z]4 says:

You are interested in the unique way humans process information. We think that you should use some other to study the immense cognitive ability of the human brain. Your use of electricity to alter the neurons of the human brain is self defeating and very painful for humans. Just because the use of neurons by the human brain makes it an electrical apparatus doesn’t mean frying their brains will give you any insight into how you can mimic the human brain’s operation.

    • Ew[8 says:

It is a matter of understanding physic, you moron. The human brain uses electricity to compute. Presently it is beyond our ability to understand. It is not a machine and is an extraordinary entity. The human doesn’t deserve this gift form the GODS.

The human has to use sound waves to communicate, but their brain is functioning at the speed of light. Sound waves travel a million times slower than light. That means that the rate of communication that humans can do with each other is roughly a million times slower than the speed of light. We can communicate at roughly the speed of light. Yet no alien I have met other than a human has a brain that can compute at the speed of light. They don’t deserve that apparatus. If we have to destroy a few to discover the secret of their brain, so be it.

      • Y]6 says:

Just because the best of us have the technology to communicate in any given minute 300 million bits of information to each other in a minute than a human can doesn’t give us the right to experiment upon them at will. Keep in mine that most of us are in the range of 1 million bits of information faster that humans, your species, is in that category. Mine is closer to 57 million times faster actually only the Immortal is in that range of 300 million and getting faster at a rate we can’t comprehend either.

Are you suggesting that you be allowed to experiment upon his brain?

        • Ew[8 says:

Using AI or other means that even they wouldn’t consider intelligence humans can be easily manipulated.

          • Y]6 says:

That’s because those machines see the human in a very different way than they see each other.

        • R]8 says:

Those tools that we use are making decisions that are beyond our conception. We defer to these as “Logic,” and accept we them even though they may not be decisions that we would make if we brought out Logic with an emotional touch to it. Isn’t that the point of finding a COMMANDER who will act with both?

Such as “Ours is to do or die” for members of our military units. It would be best if we guided humans not to get too influenced by their AI rather than just carving up their brains looking for the answer to its ability to compute at the speed of light.

          • D]8 says:

You are on point with your suggestion that we spend more time teaching humans to be more skeptical about being told that AI is too complex for them to understand. And that they shouldn’t be worried about it, That only certain companies or people should be controlling that technology.

If this manipulation of the human psyche succeeds, there will be a rise of monopolistic tech oligarchs who will tell the public they will offer the public services they won’t understand, but believe us they are in your best interest.

          • Q]8 says:

You could not be more right. Humans are entering a fundamental change in the way they share information. The problem is that a few people will be tellIng the masses that they don’t understand this change, “let us look after it for you.” Those few will only be looking after their own self interests. It will be a disaster for the human race.

      • T]8 says:

Humans communicate or convey meaning to each other isn’t base on sound waves(words) at all. They use many different forms of expression. They do it through music, art, facial expression, etc.

        • Ew[8 says:

Spend some time learning Syntax before you attempt to communicate here. You should have written -The way humans communicate or convey meaning to each other isn’t based solely on sound waves(words).

They you would be on a solid basis to add that pathetic attempt to add emotion to their logical expression.

  6. O]4 says:

Your discussions concerning the human brain is fascinating, but your inclusion of the Immortal as one having similar physiology is very mistaken. It does not have a brain, human like or otherwise. It is a chameleon. As for its intelligence that is a multifaceted thing that we don’t have the ability to rank its intelligence. As far as we know it is older than old because it is certainly older than our ability to time date.

    GRAMMAR
When is a proper noun proper?
We know nouns cover people, places, and things — but then there’s the category of proper nouns. Do you know the requirements for a proper noun?

G rammar 101 tells us that a common noun is any person, place, or thing. But when does a noun become a proper noun? Despite what the name may suggest, proper nouns have nothing to do with good etiquette, wearing a tuxedo, or having a British accent. Instead, the term refers to a noun that’s one-of-a-kind — a specific and individual person, place, or organization. Take, for instance, the Taj Mahal. There’s only one in the world. This means “Taj Mahal” is a proper noun, whereas the words “mausoleum” and “landmark” are more generic common nouns that could refer to the Taj Mahal, or a number of other places.

Proper nouns include people’s names, even if several folks share the same moniker. While there may be hundreds of individuals in the world named “Sandra Jones,” only one of them sits next to you at work. That level of specificity is enough to have their name classified as a proper noun. Brand names are proper nouns because there’s a distinction between “cookie” (a common noun referring to anything under the cookie umbrella) and “Oreo” (a proper noun designating the specific chocolate sandwich cookie originally made by the Nabisco company).

The easiest way to spot a proper noun in English is to look for capitalization. If someone writes the phrase “I like dolphins,” you can assume they’re referring to the animal in general. But if you see “I like the Dolphins,” it’s fair to assume they’re referring to the very specific NFL team called the Miami Dolphins. At the end of the day, specificity is the defining factor for proper nouns. If you’re talking about a person you know, a unique location, or the Big Mac you’re about to eat, chances are you’re using a proper noun.

Why are we not punishing the greater offenders of global warning? Since 1980, coastal flooding in Guam has jumped from twice a year to 22 times a year. Isn’t that a place we are supposed to protect from human destruction?

Because of sea level rise, the ocean is transforming from being a lifelong friend into a growing threat. The western edges of the Pacific are seeing sea level rise about twice the global average. Sea levels are rising faster in the western tropical Pacific because of where the melting ice from western Antarctica heads, warmer waters and ocean currents. It’s especially bad for the Pacific islands because most of the islands are at low elevations,

The Pacific is getting hit hard despite only producing 0.2% of heat-trapping gases causing climate change and expanding oceans. The largest chunk of the sea rise is from melting ice sheets in Antarctica and Greenland. Melting land glaciers add to that, and warmer water also expands based on the laws of physics.

Antarctic and Greenland “melting has greatly accelerated over the past three to four decades due to a high rate of warming at the poles. About 90% of the heat trapped by greenhouse gases goes into the oceans. The rate is now the fastest it has been in 3,000 years.

The richest 20 nations account for 80% of the heat-trapping gases. Allow us to start hitting them with larger and larger hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and other natural disasters. We can start with Shanghai; Perth, Australia; London; Atlantic City, New Jersey; Boston; Miami; and New Orleans. Then we can hit the rest at a time we feel necessary.

After bringing a human up, you can check for nerve damage in their hands or toes by submerging them in water. Their fingers and toes wrinkling up in water isn’t caused by a direct reaction between the water and their skin, but by an autonomic nervous system reaction—humans with nerve damage in their fingers and toes won’t get wrinkly skin no matter how long they spend in the water.

Check with J]h3’s Manuel on human nerve damage to discover if the damage was caused by your beaming process. Check with Kh]3’s Manuel on treatment for human nerve damage if repair is required.

Why You Should Fake Cancelling Every Subscription At Least Once

    KEY TAKEAWAYS
Subscription prices are rising, with price hikes being announced regularly.
Streaming platforms want to keep subscribers and may offer better deals than they make public. Canceling subscriptions can lead to getting those better offers. It’s worth trying for a bit of savings.

Just like me, you’ve probably got a whole bunch of streaming subscriptions and a mounting bill to keep them all going. The good news is that if you attempt to cancel some of these, you might end up saving money while still retaining your service.

    Subscription Prices Keep Crawling Upwards
You’ve probably seen the news about one or another subscription service raising its prices. Many of these services started out by running at a loss and undercutting other services without deep financial reserves. Now that the streaming market is consolidating into just a few big players, the time has come for the second part of the strategy where services get worse and prices go up.

Clearly, this isn’t going to be popular with customers, but where can you go to legally get you content? Especially when a lot of the best content is now owned by these various streaming services. Of course, lots of people rotate their subscriptions and binge original content one service at a time, but for those of us living in households with lots of viewers, it’s usually necessary to keep a few services running in parallel to keep everyone happy. Which means even small increases on a per-service basis can add up fast.

Services Are Desperate to Keep You Paying
Susbcription-based services such as video streaming platforms get much of their valuation from subscriber numbers. In general this means that shareholders want to see those subscriber numbers go up, but if you’re losing existing subscribers there’s little point in getting new ones if the total number stays the same or even drops! So, while every subscription service would like to get every dollar from you they can, they also value their actual subscriber numbers. Which means you have some level of leverage over them.

Many of Them Have Hidden Customer Retention Systems
Lots of subscription services have automated retention systems. At some point during the cancelation process, that system will offer you a better price, or even a few months for free. This isn’t advertised, and whether you’ll get such an offer might be based on something personal, such as how long you’ve been a subscriber or where in the world you are. It might also depend on whether the service in question needs to retain subscribers or not.

Either way, all you have to do is initiate the cancellation process until you’re made an offer. It’s worth doing this at least once for every subscription you have, and it’s definitely worth doing for subscriptions that you’re considering cancelling anyway.

There’s No Harm in Trying to Get a Better Deal
Even if you don’t really want to cancel your service, there’s no real harm in pretending to see if you can’t get a better deal. After all, your data won’t be deleted, you can always immediately resubscribe, and there won’t be any break in your service. That’s because usually your subscription will still run to the end of the current billing period.

The only downside I can think of is if you’re still grandfathered into an older lower price, in which case you should wait until your price actually goes up. Otherwise, when you cancel and try to reactivate your subscription, it will be at the new price.
