Those of you teaching humans the how of carbon capture and storage may not be in violation of any edict. It turns out that showing humans how to capture CO2 which is a harmful greenhouse gas, and how to turn it into useful chemicals without contributing to global warming is okay.
Warning when the oil industry learns that some of the chemicals created can be used as fuel for vehicles, they may react violently. If that occurs acting to defend yourselves using superior alien technology WILL violate various Edicts.
So you are saying that teaching humans how to initiate a chemical reaction in a reactor that would converts CO2 into synthesis gas, or syngas, a mixture of carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen (H2) which is an important ingredient in the production of many fuels and chemicals is okay. But teaching them how to convert that solar syngas into liquid fuels that could one day sustainably power vehicles like their cars and planes is not because we may have to defend ourselves from the greed of the oil barons.
And that is not okay if we use our technology to affect that defense. The Logic escapes us.
