ready

I tagged all my people this morning so there will be no confusion from my quarters about who to bring up. If I have tagged any of yours, note that it was only a precautionary measure to ensure they all make it up, not that I am claiming them. You will know.

But let us all hope that it does not come to that.

Thank you for reading today's post. Have an InterStellar Day! ~PrP

    Did You Know?

In the 1960s, LEGO released a line of bricks specifically targeted at architects and designers called “Modulex”. The sets are now, as you would imagine, quite rare and highly collectible.

      Did You Know?

In the movie The Shawshank Redemption, the mugshot of Morgan Freeman’s character Red as a younger man is uncannily realistic for a good reason: it’s a photograph of his son Alfonso.

Putin has to go. No delays

    • ⁄€7^9 says:

O’ contrarié, how much suffering will the rest of the world allow one man to do to millions in order to save their own asses?

Isn’t this like watching the herd scattering when another animal is chasing one of its weaker members? How the fuck are you different? I say let this play out more. Wouldn’t want you to claim that if Putin had gone (“that far”) you would have entered to stop him.

Really, how many women and children will you allow Putin to terrorize, maim, and murder before you feel living with the knowledge is worse than dying to prevent any more? Is there even a number? I guess that adage, “If you do nothing when they are killing your neighbor, there will be no to help you when they decide to do it to you.” means nothing to humans. Rather it is a thing to say to others to motivate them to assist you if you happen to be one “they” are attacking. Not so much if it is them.

Hence, we say, no hurry, wait a while more.

Thinking of sinking a Russian vessel off the course of Odessa.

        • H]8 says:

That will force Putin to go nuclear. He will know that his life will depend on the outcome of this war. His propaganda back home will not support the lost of a major battle ship will thousands aboard. Think on this some more.

      • Bill says:

I’m okay with that. As a black American, I don’t see any good reason to rush to save a bunch of white people. Here in america we often hear from the “good” whites that the right is trying to take us back to the 50’s. That is the conscience of white america. Hell, I graduated in 1966. Interracial marriage wasn’t made legal in America until 1967. So why the fucking 50’s as if the 60’s was any better in America for non whites.
Me, I say damn sweet, there’s no hurry. My mother used to say that scary movies didn’t frighten her because as long as white people are killing each other they aren’t killing us.

Let them kill each other. The rest of us are safe until they are through. I don’t believe in aliens, but I can certainly get behind them leaving this situation alone for a while longer.

      • J[8 says:

The longer you wait, the sooner you will have to decide whether to prevent Putin from going nuclear. We are going to start slowly pushing back his troops. Eventually he will realize that Ukraine has alien support. Some of us are doing it because it is the right thing to do others because they like the combat. Here they get to match their skills with humans knowing that if they make a mistake they could lose their lives. Exhilarating, and fair to both sides.
Of course, for Russia that means they will have to up the ante to continue to compete. Next comes the biological weapons, what will we do then? Will we take the war to Russia, then. I’d like that.

  3. Carla says:

Being abusive and violent against women will get GOPers votes, including from women being abused and brutalized.

    • Jordan says:

You nailed this one. Once you’re caught abusing children and are convicted of felony perversion involving your mistress, only Republicans will vote for you.

    • Sharon says:

That and a few rape charges would make him a shoe-in for the position.
Is this not exactly what republicans openly support, that emboldens them to vote for these creeps?

    • Charles says:

You got that backwards. Republicans want criminals like rapists locked up, Democrats want them released with no bail.

      • Eric says:

Rhetoric vs reality. No surprise you can’t tell the difference. TX said they’d cracked down on rapes when they rolled out the anti-abortion laws. Didn’t happen, as thousands of rape kits continue to expire on the shelf. Dems also go after their own, look at Franken, while the modern GQP seems to be fine with far worse. Gaetz, Moore, Jordon, Hastert, Brett, former guy, the list is actually pretty long.

      • Howard says:

Haha…That’s why all the insurrectionists are whining about jail and Repubs are raising bail money? Where in helll is your brain, Charles?

      • Steve says:

Is this why you are free Charles? Tell us your true story.

      • Jimmy says:

You need to stop smoking that stuff.

      • Colin says:

Speak for yourself. If you want criminals locked up why is Trump still walking around.

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent of species that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change that survives,”
    — Charles Darwin.

    • Œ/7 says:

This has some truth when Mother Nature is not being tampered with by humans. It is less true when attempting to prevent the “change” one is being forced to adapt to. Animals and vegetation cannot on their own resist the foolishness of man.

Humans can choose not to allow a particular “change” to occur. Hence it is the one who can prevent a change to his environment who survives.

    • Pateo says:

Charles Darwin was a racist and a misogynist. His survival of the fittest was based on might makes right. Hence all women were inferior to men. And men with the power to exert their will upon other men were right.

He was a prime example of the adage “a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.” But if quoting the wannabe nazi floats your boat?

  6. Tex says:

In this case, these people is Lara Logan, a former highly respected journalist who did some really good reporting for “60 Minutes”.

During the “Arab Spring” in Egypt right after Mubarak was deposed, Ms. Logan was reporting from the jubilant crowd. She had body guards, but the crowd was in a frenzy, and Ms. Logan was dragged into the crowd, beaten, stripped, and repeatedly violently raped. It was a horrendous thing to happen to anyone. I can’t even imagine what would cause a crowd to behave in such a violent and demeaning way towards any human being, but apparently, it’s a “thing” in Egypt.

She took about a year off to recover as best she could, and when she returned, it was like she was replaced by a “pod person”, from the movie, “The Invasion of the Body Snatchers”. Rather than report objectively as good journalists do, she started not being shy about letting her personal biases influence her “reporting”. She now is a conspiracy theory officionado who is a Fox “News” contributor. I think she has unresolved anger from her brutal violation, and the real world is a scary place. So, living in a fantasy world gives her power – the power she didn’t have that night when he was attacked. Even so, she is a shadow of her former professional self.

  7. E]4 says:

Putin has ordered nuclear combat drills and has also instructed his family to pack their belongings and go to an undisclosed underground facility built specifically to protect from nuclear explosions and fallout.

  8. Vladislav says:

Kalibrs are still flying and destroying military infra with subtle precision. Ukrainian generals already reported lack of ammunition.

  10. Russell says:

What business did Manafort have to do that was so important that he would try to leave the USA with an revoked passport?

    • Zimmerman says:

Manafort was probably on his way to do more dirty work on behalf of his criminal client base. He certainly was complicit in our switching allegiance to Putin & Russia during the Trump years. He put Ukraine at significant risk as did Trump.

    • Gloria says:

Headed to Ukraine to sabotage their defense. Always money to be made war and interests to be advanced. He is a white collar thug in a suit, and no different from a mercenary with a gun. Meets Putin’s requisite qualification for hire: loyalty to money and thus the nasty boss paying big bucks; saboteur; traitor to self and country; double agent for higher to the highest bidder; and never a reformed criminal.

    • Donnie says:

How fitting! Manafort is not an American citizen and is by no means deserving of a U.S. passport. He is a free agent available to the highest bidder. Trump may have pardoned him for his conviction on 10 of 18 felony counts, but I think being declared persona non grata at the customs gate as he’s attempting to fly off to grift some Middle Eastern oligarchs at least qualifies as poetic justice.

  11. Lese says:

I hope Biden stacks the court. At least his appointees are qualified, not black out drunks, and hopefully no more Opus Dei Catholics who let their personal beliefs affect everyone in this nation. Funny how they didn’t vet Gin Blossom Kavanaugh to find out who paid off his debts, yet they question Ketanji Brown Jackson like she’s a terrorist for doing her job. Like cruz, hawley and the rest of the putin apologists and insurrectionist supporters have done their jobs. Fist pumping Nazis who don’t hide the fact that they only represent people like them and the wealthy who bought them and expect a return on their investments. just ask Betsy DeVos, or her mercenary con artist brother who defrauded the Pentagon and lives in Qatar so he doesn’t have to pay taxes.

  12. Ellen says:

What’s going with SCOTUS not willing to tell us about the house nigger Clarence? We have a right to know if his health has turned grave for the sake of the court. The right are now hiding, thus lying, to the people.

  13. Ruth says:

Like the shadow dockets being used so there are no arguments. We have a justice who has admitted to blackout drinking and has his debts erased even though he was never properly vetted by the FBI, and Opus Dei Catholic who lets her personal feelings decide upon issues that affect those who do not share her faith, and another trump, ooops, I mean McConnell appointee who isn’t nearly as qualified as Ketanji Brown jackson, and then we have the clown car, hawley, cruz, etal asking ridiculous questions because they believe people of color, especially a woman of color accusing her of doing her job when she was a public defender, and questioning her about decisions that don’t even exist. cruz, hawley and a few others claim to be lawyers, claim to be Constitutional “experts”, yet they will never be as successful in any job as she has in hers. Fist pumping Nazi supporters that show up at Nazi rallies, supporters of putin, and they have the audacity to question an appointee for SCOTUS, and they shoved completely unqualified black out drunks, and Opus Dei Catholics because McConnell wanted to stack the court and he knew trump was an idiot who would go along with it. The gagging over putin party has made it perfectly clear that they want to control aspects of our lives that they have no business doing, it violates Constitutional rights. Time to hold the 147 insurrectionist apologists responsible for their criminal dereliction of duty and violating their oaths of office.

  14. Valerie says:

“ Thomas did not have COVID-19 and his infection was being treated with intravenous antibiotics, the court has said.”

Well, maybe not COVID. But he is old and obese, and if the infection is hardy enough, it could still take him out.

  15. Roberta says:

Actually Thomas has been in for 7 days. He went in last Friday and today is Thursday. The longer he is in the hospital the more chance he is getting worse and not better. If it was a simple infection he’d gotten IV with antibiotics for 24 to 48 hours then home for Recovery and take remainder of antibiotic in pill form. At 68 yrs old an in bad health I’ve been through this & almost died from a lung infection last year. This yr. I was in for 6 days with lung infections that turned into Ammonia. Home on the 7th day to finish the Antibiotic in pill form. If we don’t hear anything by this week end, i’d say it’s counting the days for him at 73 and in bad health.

  16. Jerry says:

I definitely appreciate the sentiment of not wishing ill upon a person (if you believe in karma, wishing misfortune nets you misfortune, for example), but lets get real. Thomas isn’t resigning unless there’s a Republican President and Senate to install someone just as bad as him, but 30 years younger. If he dies now, we get a shot at his seat. If he doesn’t, he’ll be wheeled into the Court in a wheelchair on life support machines if that’s what it takes to keep that seat firmly in Republican hands.

I’m not going to wish death upon him. He’s a human being with a family. But if he does die? I’ll be following Jacky Mabley on this when I say “I was always taught never to say anything about the dead unless it’s good. He’s dead. Good!” And I’ll be 100% behind Biden appointing his replacement ASAP if it happens in the next few days!
