How is it that 40% of America is racist and 60% is not
yet, the racists keep moving forward?
    oh… what… i just remembered
the whole Republican party is racist, bigoted and gross liars

  2. Clay says:

They lie and cheat, and then brag about it because they’re never held accountable, that’s how.

  3. Don says:

It amazes me that I have heard no one mention that Western Ukraine, which includes Lviv, was part of Poland until the end of WW2, at which time it was annexed by Stalin. First Putin’s excuse was that a few small regions of the country are rightly Russia’s, beginning with Crimea, which he invaded in 2014 and people thought he would only invade there.

I also find it crazy that the assessment of deliberate war crimes requires an investigation. This is as ludicrous as the need to prove that Trump’s attempted coup has required an investigation to prove that it was intentional, as insane that there are members of the Congress and our media supporting both, that Trump has praised Putin, and that in both cases massive gaslighting goes on that what we see and hear is not real, while attacks on our right to vote continue.

Ukraine is unfortunately one of those parts of the world that has been occupied by everyone around them for centuries. Mongol Empire, Ottoman Empire, Kingdom of Poland, Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and more. Russia is just the last of them.

  4. JC says:

Letting Russians play “but not under their flag” is no punishment at all. I thought it was a joke in the Olympics.

Who is hurt? Unless someone earns royalties from playing of the Russian national anthem, no one.

Russian fans still rooted for them and they were still welcomed home as Russian victors.

Russian athletes need to be banned from every international sport, period. And that includes anyone who defects to another country in order to play.

If they want to play their sport on an international stage, they need to put their career on hold and go to home and join the protests, the success of which should be the only possible route to rejoining the international community

    • Brown says:

They aren’t competing as a national team but these players are representing their country – the one waging war against a peaceful democracy. The French still have time to ban these players before May. The public needs to put pressure on the French or other players need to boycott the tournament.

      • Florida says:

Disappointing. I hope the reaction in France and around the world changes this decision.

      • Elena says:

The French Open. Aren’t these the same guys who wouldn’t let Serena Williams wear her medically proscribed cat suit?

      • Larry says:

Russian players are not responsible for the actions of the Russian dictator. I’m glad they have not been banned in France.

    • Brien says:

how many of those cancelling Russian athletes, artists, opera singers, conductors, businesses, etc., have screeched in the past about our shameful treatment of the Japanese during WWII. I guess in reality they would have been leading the change to round them up back in 1941.

      • JC says:

You seriously suggest that not allowing Russian athletes to compete in a sport is equivalent to the seizure of property of American citizens and herding them into detainment camps? Instead of slinging ludicrous attacks against the sensibilities of those who think Russians should pay a price for murdering children, maybe you need to examine your own sense of perspectives.

  5. Daran says:

Zelenskyy is in the middle of a hot war; his rhetoric is understandable. Germany did do a lot to bring Russia towards the West through trade, self interest in getting their oil, but it could have turned out better. Now, that we know it fed Putin’s ambition, they must also do more to correct his violation of international law and aggression. Using his military might against a smaller peaceful democracy is an outrage in this modern age.

It is in everyone’s interests to see it ends quickly. Germany needs to do more and shouldn’t be overly criticized for not being clairvoyant. Germany needs to slow the use of Russian oil.

Germany should use its influence with India and others to stop using Russian oil during the crisis. They are taking advantage of the world’s position, using loopholes, avoiding the moral imperative, contributing to Putin’s war effort.

It is transparent the self-interest of India and others for bargain priced Russian oil because of other countries actions to end the war. They are impeding world peace efforts for personal gain. It is in Germany’s interest to end Russia using their energy for advantage in the war, since they popularized its use early on with Nord Stream 1 in Europe.

  6. Davon says:

Zelenskyy is very good at pushing the emotional buttons of world leaders. I wonder if he writes his own speeches or if someone else does.

He’s very accurate in pointing out that Germany and other European countries are funding this war because of buying oil and natural gas from Russia, while knowing they were doing business with the devil.

Germany knew what horror Russia was capable of from the way it raped and pillaged towns and villages across postwar Germany when WW2 was over. But it’s too late now.

NATO should have seen Russian aggression coming because it already knew in 2014 that Russia was determined at some point to take Ukraine using extreme tactics. Since we are the main player in NATO we should have encouraged all Western European nations to limit business with Putin.

Now that the sanctions are in place let’s hope they stay there indefinitely, maybe forever.

    • Gary says:

You are exactly correct but with just one issue. FIRST —- our current President had to repair the damage to NATO that the previous president (and Putin buddy) did. And then after reuniting NATO, he could take the lead in helping.

My dad was 43 years older than my mother, 45 years older than I am. Mom was his third marriage. He tried a younger wife each time. I was his 4th child. Mother said that she stayed in the marriage for the money because she knew the “old fart” would die soon.

He was a wealthy lover. But the money is nice.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Dude what the fuck are you talking about? What do you mean by “He was a wealthy lover. But the money is nice.” What has one thing got to do with the other?

    • Sydney says:

I am not a “dude.” I am a woman. It means I married him for the money and I got a nice bit of it.

What will we need when we go to the Ukraine Monday? How do we know which Command will prevail, ˇÓ‹ ´Â∏´‰Ø‰’ edit or ÓˆÍ ˝‰ÅÇ´?

    • F[5 says:

      The 1st will prevail.

      • 4[7 says:

I am aware of that, but what I mean is the dismantling of their supply and supply chains. Does a withdrawal constitute a 1st violation or is it permissible under the 593 as long as they are not transferred to the Ukrainians?

  9. 4]6 says:

Removing ordinance from one combatant without giving them to another is permissible.

  10. Sausalito says:

“There is being in love which is all palpitations and blushes and swoonings and in the worst cases a quantity of very bad poetry, and then there is love, which is a very different thing. One can love a person very deeply without the slightest outbreak of palpitations or bad poetry. Caring for someone in that way and knowing oneself to be cared for in return is a gift beyond price. Love is a very precious thing.”

    • Mildred says:

You have made your point but it in no way lessens the attempt by someone to express their love, feelings, etc. for their special person however bad the poetry may be.

  11. PrP says:

I am pleased to hear starlink is working so successfully for Ukrainian drone strikes. This technology makes this war a different beast altogether. And undoubtedly Elon is a central player who will be praised in the telling of it’s history to future generations. Love him or hate him. This one man has made a gigantic difference in the odds by his act.

    Did You Know?

The word “giraffe” took a long time to work its way from Arabic to Italian to French before eventually making its way to English. Prior to that, the term for giraffe in English was “camel leopard” because of their camel-like shape and leopard-like coloration. The name of a lesser known giraffe-shaped constellation in the northern sky, Camelopardalis (Latin for “camel leopard”), reflects this archaic term.

      Did You Know?

The candy name “Milk Duds” is rather literal. The candies were first produced in 1926 with the goal of creating a caramel candy coated in milk chocolate that was perfectly spherical. When the machine kept churning out lumpy egg-shaped candies instead of nice round balls, an employee joked that they were “duds” and the nickname stuck.

Note to gh§ designed suits. They were originally created to work in areas of a planet which are shielded from its sun. Recently it has been discovered that they protect the wearer from projectiles striking the wearer in access 425 mph. However, one type of radiation can defeat this.
Ultraviolet light is a type of radiation. Over time, it breaks down the various chemical bonds that hold together the long polymer molecule chains the gh§ suit is composed of..

Therefore you are advised to monitor your exposure to the sun while on earth.

  14. Kl says:

Russia is massing a huge military force along my country’s border here in Moldova. I hope those aliens I read here and here about from relatives in Ukraine are true. We are not part of NATO.

  15. F/›9 says:

The counterparts of the American military generals who are responsible for the launching of nuclear bombs in Russia have been communicating about what they will do if Putin attempts to start World War III. They basically have agreed to do what the American generals agreed to do if trump attempted to launch nuclear missiles.
Unfortunately, some of the Russian generals have been outed by their underlings. Putin is at this moment attempting to round all of them up. If he succeeds before we have a failsafe put in place, we will need to assign at least 3 more ships to pick up the earthlings we wish to rescue during the nuclear fallout. The ones that will be picking up humans before the fallout are not equipped to return for others. They are the future, the humans that will be left behind no longer matter.
