Interesting to see the responses to my last post and the direction you all took with my intention. So many of you were wrong.
“Bros before Hos” is an expression I was asked to explain. I could have used Hos before Bros, but it didn’t fit in this context. My reference was that Steven and Horace are friends and if they are good friends, he would not take his girlfriend from him. He also has to decide if it would hurt his friend to know the truth about Emily, or if he thought his friendship could stand the truth coming out about his girlfriend sniffing around other dick.
And the comments, well men are that way, why shouldn’t women be.” Ugh. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Two wrongs don’t make a right. To be clear, there is nothing wrong with seeking new relationships, but doing so while you are in a committed relationship without the understanding of your partner is cheating imo. It’s so rude to the one you are with. Its common decency and obviously, is severely lacking in a few of you.
Live your life with intention. Hold your head up high. Be true to yourself, but don’t step on the backs of others to get there. Have enough grace to “[wo]man up” and be honest. I still stand by she should have broken up with Horace first, or at least discussed taking a relationship break, before she attempted to seduce his best friend, and potentially lose her own best friend in the process. Emily should have gone to Julia first and asked her about her feelings if Emily were to date Steven. (That would be hos before bros.)
