Texas misogyny

Did anyone else see the news story about the chivalry “assignment” for students at Shallowater High School in Texas? Shallowater is located a little northwest of Lubbock, Texas. I couldn’t believe it was actually true when the news article was forwarded to me.

The girls were instructed to demonstrate how the “code of chivalry and standards set in the medieval concept of courtly love carries over into the modern day,” ahem, instructing them to be subservient! They were told they must do the following:

“Ladies cannot show intellectual superiority….” ! I think that is the biggest tell in this misogynist bullshit list. Ladies must “clean up after men,” “obey requests,” “don’t talk to males unless addressed,” “address them with lowered heads and a curtsy,” and walk “as if their feet were bound?!” What f’g century is this? Who is the holy roller teaching this class? Surely there are better ways to teach about medievil history (and evil does belong in that word, imho). How about reading a damn book?!

And as you would suspect, the male assignment was pretty benign:

Once news of this was shared on social media, outrage caused the assignment was to be pulled. As it should!

I can’t find any information on the name of the teacher. I’m gonna guess the teacher was white. But, I wouldn’t venture to say that the teacher was a male, since it’s just as probable that a white woman was leading the class. White women keep the bigots and fundamentalists in action by, at a minimum, voting GOP. One need only look to our highest court, and Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett, to know this is true.

It’s totally disgusting and flies in the face of equal rights.

A little kickback to my post of 2/26/21, a faint whisper of wind:

Who wasn’t gotten spammed with that call? 🙂

Thank you for reading today's post. Have an InterStellar Day! ~PrP

Loved all the comments, especially the tete a tete between ole Michelle fans. I am gradually getting hooked on PrP because frankly she does a damn good blog. Thanks Lady.
I also find it interesting that aliens with super technological knowledge believe in magic. To me believing that gods exists is stupid. But when I see super intellects going that path, I think of all the reasons that Michelle’s blog became so important to me. It was not the knowledge her blog exposed me to as much as the varied possibilites that a difference of opinion can take you to. PrP has stepped into that arena with a blast!

I agree with you Monica. Michelle’s blog taught me that it is possible that there is more to the Universe than what can be percieved by our senses. So many things are out there that are hidden from us.

I also agree with you. PrP has me reevaluating my previous thinking patterns. I see how we women are manipulated on a daily basis. Damn if this article isn’t a typical example. Thanks PrP for your diligence in exposing their devious underbelly.
Articles like these help me when I am discussing fem rights with my republican female family and friends. Most are totally oblivious to their conditioning to accept male dominance as a god given right.

Hey, we men had to do things too. We had to open doors and hold chairs for them bitches.

    • Larry says:

No one pulled a chair out or opened a door for me. I guess being a female in a man’s body doesn’t count.

Thanks PrP for this blog. I live in the sorry state of Texas. It is a cesspool of men who have no respect for women. Some of that can be attributed to dirt for brains exhibited by a lot of women here.

    Bravo PrP.

We are aware and a skit has been sent. Look to the *8* for more information. The shac can be made to receive but not send. We are checking to see if it has been employed. Any aware of bits received should acknowledge.

Bill, if you were trying to say, “Sure, I speak a little Latin,” then the adjective little ( linguae) needs an “e” at the end of linguae. Otherwise you were spot on.

Id legi modo hic modo illic. Vero, Latine loqui non est difficilissimum.
