intentional orbital debris

As if there isn’t enough space junk already out there, you can thank the Russians for more. The ISS had to do some maneuvering yesterday to avoid the fallout of Russia’s anti-satellite missile testing:

The direct-ascent anti-satellite missile fired by Russia into one of its own satellites generated more than 1,500 pieces of “trackable orbital debris” and would likely spawn hundreds of thousands of smaller fragments, the U.S. Space Command said in a statement.

The debris from the missile test “will continue to pose a threat to activities in outer space for years to come, putting satellites and space missions at risk, as well as forcing more collision avoidance maneuvers,

You can read more about that here. Feels like an active attempt at sabotage to me.

E]9/3, thanks for your comment. For those that may not know about the history, there is a book by George G.M. James called Stolen Legacy that expounds on this.

Thank you for reading today's post. Have an InterStellar Day! ~PrP

One thing I have learned is Americans are pretty stupid and believe anything if you tout racism, misogyny, Jesus, homophobia, anti-abortion, etc.

  2. It’s just a matter of time says:

“Yesterday’s anti-satellite test by the Russian military makes it clear that Moscow is willing to threaten the peaceful use of outer space, further militarize this domain, and disregard any consequences for all nations,” House Armed Services Committee Chairman Adam Smith (D-Wash.) said in a statement Tuesday.
“The American people deserve a responsible assessment and response to this event, and we must hold Russia accountable with the support of our allies and partners,” Smith added.
U.S. officials and lawmakers worry that the ground-launched missile, which hit a Soviet satellite sent up in 1982, is indicative of ramped-up Russian efforts to develop and test space-based systems and weapons.

And just how will they “hold Russia accountable?” Russia is a third world country with nuclear weapons. Add to that fact it is controlled by a criminal organization which resembles the operations South American drug cartels. They are ruthless. Human life has no value, if that life cannot turn them a profit.

Oh, and before you Americans get smug, the only thing you have going better than Russia is you are not a third world country. But, your Republican Party is all too willing to turn your country into the same criminal run organization. The shame is that white Americans are accepting the destruction of America because they think it will preserve their privilege status as American males with white skin. The examples of this acceptance is everywhere.
