I find it utter absurd that the Arizona Supreme Court passed a law from 1864, (1) before Arizona was even a state, let alone (2) before women had the right to vote, making it illegal to have an abortion except in the case of a mother’s life. Babies conceived by rape or incest are not granted consideration. Shame Shame is right!
I would think the law would not stand. How can they consider it “a law” if it were enacted before statehood? How is that upholdable? Also, before women had the right to vote. Isn’t that a kind of gender discrimination? Are they trying to test how far back in canon they can go? Are we now going to be subjected to biblical rules?

A 16th-century Spanish romance novel tells of an earthly paradise “on the right hand of the Indies,” with steep cliffs and rocky shores. On this island utopia, which like Atlantis and El Dorado is full of riches, “there was no metal but gold” and the rulers were all strong Black women.
The name of that fictional Eden was California.
The novel, “Las Sergas de Esplandián,” by Garci Rodriguez de Montalvo and published around 1510, is believed to be the first time the word “California” appears in print, which is how I came across this old tale in my reporting.
The novel is believed to be where the state’s name came from, Alex Vassar, a spokesman for the California State Library, told me, though the matter isn’t entirely settled. Surprisingly little has been firmly established about the origin of a name known around the world.

They are basically loyal only to other Mormons and the higher ranked Mormon rules.
So we suggest that you pose as one of those higher ranked Mormons when working as a CIA agent. Also since most Mormons are only recruiting members of the faith to head US corporations, posing as one will ensure that you have a competitive chance at one of those jobs also. Congress is about to expand the ability of your government to spy on you. This week, Congress is expected to vote on a bill that would update key federal surveillance authorities. The legislation has been packaged by its proponents as a reform but is, in reality, an attempt to vastly expand the government’s spying powers, privacy advocates say.
H.R. 7888, or the Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act, would renew key surveillance powers enjoyed by the U.S. intelligence community, broadly known as Section 702.
Section 702 was created in 2008 as part of the FISA Amendments Act, which gave the government the legal authority to conduct warrantless surveillance of Americans who communicate with people outside of the country. The law allows the U.S. intelligence community (most notably the NSA) to conduct “targeted surveillance” of people outside the U.S. with the “compelled assistance of electronic communication service providers,” when a government court deems it necessary for national security reasons.
In the past, the government has done much of its spying by tapping the information flows of online communications providers. Now, however, the new update would vastly expand the government’s ability to deputize U.S. businesses to spy on communications. Problematically, the vague language within the bill makes it difficult to understand what kind of organizations would be called upon to spy for the government and which would be exempted.
The new amendment would — notwithstanding these exclusions — still permit the government to compel the assistance of a wide range of additional entities and persons in conducting surveillance under FISA 702. The breadth of the new definition is obvious from the fact that the drafters felt compelled to exclude such ordinary places such as senior centers, hotels, and coffee shops. But for these specific exceptions, the scope of the new definition would cover them—and scores of businesses that did not receive a specific exemption remain within its purview.
And even with these specific exceptions, the definition would include, for example, the owners and operators of facilities that house equipment used to store or carry data, such as data centers and buildings owned by commercial landlords, who merely have access to communications equipment in their physical space. It could also include other persons with access to such facilities and equipment, including delivery personnel, cleaning contractors, and utility providers.
In other words, the government would be able to deputize an unknown amount of the private sector into acting as its own personal intelligence asset. Indeed, Hamadanchy gives some examples of companies that might potentially fall under this category and they are numerous: “Commercial landlords, grocery stores, barber shops, hardware shops, fitness centers” or, as he puts it, “anyone with a WiFi” connection.
